The 4-3-3 is reliant on at least one of your wingers being good. Unfortunately all of ours are rubbish right now. And I absolutely would not trust any of them to play at wing back because they haven't tracked back all season. I'd wouldn't be against a 5-3-2 now. Ditch the wingers, attempt to get Watt & Van Veen introduced to each other and maybe get the midfield to be somewhat involved. However this will not happen because Donnelly's vanished off the face of the earth and Alexander loves shit wingers.

I think the gripe is that he's stubbornly sticking to this tactic as opposed to looking at the amount of crosses coming in and thinking "maybe we could stop that". Very much so. I could handle a defensive/counterattacking set up in these kind of games but watching us attempt to play horror football at home to teams around us in the league is fucking horrendous and should be binned immediately.

Brought myself to watch the club's post match interview and ruined my Monday morning. He even alludes to the way we are set up to defend. Clearly meaning we allow crosses. As for his "all went to plan for 42 minutes" schtick? He's either on the touchline sniffing glue or he thinks we're all fucking stupid.

I've not quite boarded the Alexander out bus but I'm in the pub at the station thinking about it. To the extent that if news broke this afternoon that he'd been emptied I would not even be slightly sad about it. He's clearly got this very set idea of how he wants to play football but he cannot honestly say our recent performances have been acceptable in any way. I'm completely prepared for another 4-3-3 shit show next week though because he will not change anything about it.

The 4-3-3 doesn't work with this set of players. The midfield might as well be sat in the stand next to me and all of our wingers/wide forwards are out of form so completely rubbish. Essentially we hope that Mugabi single handedly defends and Tony Watt makes something himself. For me I would like to go down the BACK THREE'S BACK ALRIGHT route soon to at least make us more solid. Although I do understand that none of our wide players are at all defensive enough to play at wing back. Donnelly appears to have dropped off the face of the earth so it's almost as if Goss is in by default. I think judgement's passed on Maguire now as if he can't get a game ahead of Crawford for most of last season and Goss this season he's clearly not good enough. Serious questions should be asked of Alexander's selection policy now, for me. I completely lost the heid when he hooked Shields ahead of Roberts yesterday despite him being the only one giving the Rangers defence anything to think about. To then hook Slattery as well is mind boggling. Add to that his repeated selection of Goss, who is one of the worst signings we've made in years, and McGinley, who is absolutely shite but compounded by having Goss' empty jersey floating in front of him. The next fixtures are awful. Aberdeen have pulled their finger out and Hearts are good this season.

We're in unanimous agreement of a few things here: Sean Goss is absolutely fucking dug meat. Our tactics are also dug meat. Whatever the f**k Alexander is trying to implement here he cannot honestly say he's watched us in the last few weeks and thought "aye this is sound". @thisGRAEME's picked it apart in more detail than I will here but it's just dung. There's a half decent team in this massively unbalanced squad but this 4-3-3 set up is absolutely not the way to get it to work. I don't think it's unfair to say that there should be serious questions asked of Alexander after today.

I'll just preface this by saying I am just some jobber that's sitting with a laptop. The first goal on Wednesday night was the culmination of a few issues that are plaguing us. The midfield don't press to try and force an error, but at the same time McGinley attempts to press the wide player and Goss sort of half presses. For me either everyone presses or everyone drops to defend. You cannot do both. So for the umpteenth time in that game one ball bypasses our midfield and has the opposition bearing down on our defence without challenge. Carroll's not perfect but he has to be back in the starting XI. As for the midfield, I don't have a clue how you fix that. Donnelly appears to be completely out of the picture which I don't understand. It seemed odd to change tactics after going 2-0 up. For the first time in the game we played the ball on the deck, allowed SOD to push forward instead of hoofing the ball into no mans land up the touchline. Then we revert to type. It sounds like such an arsey thing to say but I'm no sure I'm cut out to watch us attempt to play anti-football against teams that are not any better than us. At least Robinson's thunder dome era was all action pressing of the ball.

There's been a couple of occasions recently where Grimshaw has a pass on forward. SOD bombed forward and it was on before Grimshaw done his usual turning back to pass it to the keeper. Got to hope this Irish lad turns out to be at all creative or we've got a full season of this unbalanced mess. Andy Rose was class. Loads of folk gave him a hard time but he was quietly great for us. In that Aberdeen smile final he was arguably our best player. Didn't do anything spectacular but won a load of tackles and gave the ball to a Motherwell player.

Firstly empty the fucking tills to keep Tony Watt as long as possible. Secondly we're dugmeat in the middle of the park. Slattery is a decent player but can't carry it himself. Grimshaw tries his hardest but he's absolutely piss poor at football. Goss is a total waste of a jersey. The game passes him by every week. Also we've no longer remembered how to defend.

Goss is the biggest waste of a Motherwell shirt since Crawford. -

The railway coming under government control in March will be interesting. If it continues to be pish they've got nowhere to hide from criticism. Clearly the technology for the Saltire Card does exist otherwise they wouldn't be able to dish it out to thousands of folk in a fortnights time. -

We've got a disjointed public transport system with the subway running on a schedule out the middle ages until these c***s come to town and suddenly they get the golden ticket. This shit hasn't even started yet and I'm already raging.
