  1. Teams that can be directly impacted by the LL Playoffs, the majority of which are dependent on their Tier 6 champion club doing them a favour. Then get get to sit on the sidelines for two weeks to see if they're promoted/relegated/status quo Licensed Tier 6 Champion A lose out on promotion Licensed Tier 6 Champion B lose out on promotion West Premier 13th Relegated East Premier 13th Relegated West First 4th Promoted East First 4th Promoted West First 13th Relegated East First 13th Relegated West Second 4th Promoted East Second 4th Promoted West Second 13th Relegated East Second 13th Relegated West Third 4th Promoted East Third 4th Promoted West Third 13th Relegated West Fourth 4th Promoted But apparently we skip past all that, and the unfairness of the system. So that a 2nd or even 3rd placed team that failed miserably in a title challenge, get their participation trophy/lucky loser spot. There's more to fix with the pyramid system long before amending the criteria for a LL Pyramid Play-off spot.
  2. In order to change the participant criteria on the LL Playoff. You have to change the Playoff Rules. If you don't think that's changing anytime soon. Why propose minor changes instead of meaningful ones? Things wrong with the LL Playoff this season: A licensed league champion being denied promotion 13th in the EoS Premier waiting around to see if they're relegated 13th in the EoS First waiting around to see if they're relegated 13th in the EoS Second waiting around to see if they're relegated Things not wrong with the LL Playoff this season A second or even third placed team not good enough to win their league being denied participation in 2 games. Games that would decide the entire seasons of a half dozen clubs.
  3. It does matter, because it shouldn't be a case of 3 league champions chasing a single solitary promotion place. That's the issue with the Lowland League Play-off. Yet people want to fiddle with the deck chairs on the Titanic instead. All because Beith look to win an back to back titles. Otherwise no one would have noticed. And the point about relegation is pretty simple. 2nd in the West win promotion. Edinburgh University down. 13th in the EoS Premier relegated, 13th in the EoS First relegated, 13th in the EoS Second relegated. So for the sake of one club that couldn't win their own league. Let's screw over two other champions and relegate 3 more clubs.
  4. Because 4th don't deny a champion the promotion opportunity. I'm sure the EoS or WoS would be thrilled to hear the prospect of their champion losing out promotion to a 3rd placed team because they never ran up the score against an SoS team and the potential of relegating another 3-4 teams down the divisions for the privilege.
  5. Non-bolded means they were not eligible for the play-off.
  6. Last vote would have been April 2022. There was mention on here of a potential proposal around the time of the Colts being extended. Since it only takes a couple of clubs to put forward the idea. With all the "proper" clubs in the league now there shouldn't be an excuse for it not happening. Its why i've occasionally asked when the AGM is going to be. As last time the relegation idea was broached it came with different formats, and if it was happening again this year its been all quiet on that front.
  7. They don't though. They exclude B teams from the final standings, so that the top member club is declared champion. As its the Champion that gets to contest the SPFL Play-off. Something they've been able to get away without being challenged on because 1st = 1st so far.
  8. The West Premier has run into a really good Beith side that have had their unique problems getting licensed, further hampered by the SFA but is ultimately a goal for them. The way the table shakes out the Top 5 are probably all licensed clubs with the x2 exceptions being Beith's title winning teams. The real hindrance is the 3 into 1 Lowland League play-off. Which is something that should be the focus for change, not the paranoia about clubs not wanting promotion.
  9. Got 54 in the headcount chart. Which isn't too bad as discrepancies go. Premier Division: First Division: Second Division: Third Division:
  10. The only consistent point about the 3rd non-league spot in the SPFL League Cup is that it alternates between the HL/LL each year. Its the Highland League's turn.
  11. Glad there's an easier way of doing it. Couldn't be bothered manually as none of the Top 4/bottom 2 changed. Surprised to see how Broomhill jumped.
  12. There's a lot more to that rule than you've included. Which should be obvious since only counting results against clubs in membership, would mean all the Guest club results are scrubbed from the table.
  13. Has he been banned from here? Can't say I've missed them, but did notice they weren't around anymore.
  14. The HFL quotes are just about informing everyone what was required, with those with a chance of promotion following the due process. Unless I'm missing something?
  15. First year there was meant to be a draw on either Highland or Lowland would fill the 3rd spot caused by the increase in European teams. Second was the other league's turn. Year 3 nobody knew if that would continue. While you might blame the Conference rejection. Plenty of others would point to a 4th placed team being considered a "runner up" Fact it was a University team probably didn't help either.
  16. It's not an inconsistency when they decide year to year. There is no hard rule to what they would do. Just like with the Challenge Cup.
  17. It's an invite. Not a qualification. The SPFL can make up their own rules just like the Lowland League.
  18. Before playoffs : players dont fancy it Cancelled playoffs as the committee either couldn't or wouldn't get licensing sorted : we're boycotting our own awards after a championship winning season.
  19. I think it would be very difficult with the way the season finishes. Although there are a few loose threads that could probably be dramatised. By the sounds of it, the show has been a critical and commercial success. If it does get picked up I'd expect an anthology series approach: Fall of Shogun / The Next Shogun type. Or another one of Clavell's books adapted by the same production team.
  20. Broomhill I wonder about. Cumbernauld Colts I see hanging around. They'd been running an amateur team before the Lowland League. Never really pushed the boat out for the SPFL. Their model seems more in line with all the other former youth/ams that joined the WoSFL. They've just got Broadwood, which is a different kind of cage Braves went through the SoS and persisted with the multiple rejections by the Lowland. They've never seemed to have the grand ambitions of Broomhill or EK. I see them hanging around as the Edusport side of things means it makes financial sense.
  21. BSC Glasgow got the benefit of the doubt from plenty of people when they first formed. Similarly, Rossvale Juniors. Then ambitions outstripped the foundations. Which led to the BSC/Broomhill and Caley Locos/Rossvale splits. There are now a couple of clubs further up the pyramid than the originating club and its not clear how they're sustainable beyond a handful of people having a vanity project. The backers of Broomhill would probably be better thought of if they folded the club and aided BSC Glasgow's efforts. Instead they've gone down the Open Goal and Dumbarton rental route. To spin this round to Caley Braves. They've at least sorted themselves a home. Although I think the connection between Edusport and the Braves has been cut-off a little. So if Chris Ewing ever walks away it might be another house of cards.
  22. That's just trolling. Everyone knows it would be alphabetical order with Albion Rovers, Berwick Rangers, and Brechin City getting back in.
