  1. Stevie Kirkland was the ref. Absolutely hopeless and has a habit of sending off Falkirk players, I think that’s at least 3 times he’s done it.
  2. Having read a lot of negative comments over the last few days, I think it’s fair to say that members of our fanbase can’t forgive McGlynn for our finish to the end of last season. I fear if we start the season badly then the crowd could turn on him very quickly. I do agree with the points being made around the squad and McGlynn’s use of his budget. The squad currently doesn’t look balanced despite our budget apparently being spent. We will likely get a couple of loans in but we will be relying on players like Donaldson, Oliver and Nesbit again. Having just watched the highlights from Saturday, it looks like our defence and Donaldson in particular, give cause for concern. We seemed to create a decent number of chances
  3. Liam Smith at right back would be a great signing, another who I suspect has offers far above Falkirk. He’s played 104 games for Dundee Utd at championship/premiership level
  4. He was brilliant when he came off the bench against tired defences. When he started games it was a bit of a mixed bag, had a couple of really good games but some others where he struggled. From memory, you seemed to play with 2 up top, that would probably help. He wasted a lot of energy with pointless running when he started games. There’s definitely potential, whether Hartley can unlock is anyone’s guess
  5. Our striking options would be infinitely improved if we could get Danny Mullen, I’d be surprised if he didn’t have offers from a number of championship clubs. Jack Aitchison was released by Motherwell today, another one that I’d hope we were in for
  6. Yeah, he was on loan from Rangers. He refused to play in the last game of the season
  7. The obvious issue I see with fan ownership is that there is no pot of money available for major spending. The money gets spent buying shares but you are reliant on the overall club making a profit and having cash in the bank to do things like upgrade pitches, make major signings etc. Getting the share purchase completed with this loans means the continual subscription money can then be used to build a cash pot to cover the running of the club outwith normal profit and loss. If it continues in the long run, the club is fan owned but also brings in additional money every month from the subscriptions. I know other fan owned clubs have experienced the cash problems that normally are covered by rich benefactors or shareholders who are able to help in a time of need
  8. Gary Oliver has all the attributes of a neat and tidy central midfielder or right back, sadly nobody has ever told him that and we’re stuck with him as a non-scoring striker
  9. Is that £85 for 18 home games? That seems decent value, £4.72 per game
  10. No problems with the signing, he was a big pest when we played them. However a 2yr deal after a year of continually moaning about being hampered by long term contracts is a bit ridiculous
  11. Just turn on notifications, Twitter tells you when there’s a post
  12. We’ve said this for years. We need players that are proven winners at this level. This “good enough for the championship” mentality that has crept in is pointless. We just need to win League One and then deal with the Championship if/when we get there. Get the best players from our rivals, it weakens them and strengthens us. If that means offering certain players part time contracts then so be it
  13. That squad was Declan McManus versus the world, he covered the majority of problems by scoring goals nearly every game
  14. You absolutely did. We thought that the extra budget over the majority of this league would’ve been enough to get us through but he fucked it. Absolutely no plan B, makes the same subs at the same time every week etc etc etc
  15. The reality is, we’ve got the worst full time players, a trek record of losing and failure. I can see an argument for getting the best part time players into our squad. Less wage overheads but guys who actually want to play and enjoy the game
  16. Completely predictable and gutless today. Couldn’t even bring myself to go. For all the early positives, we have been garbage for months. The Ayr result brought us a lot of cash but our performances have been miles off it. McGlynn will no doubt disagree and blame everything else but he’s failed us
  17. 6 shots on target and 6 goals. Kinnear was awful. The whole stand could see his wall wasn’t covering the post at the free kick
  18. That’s it for him. That was Sheerin’s QP performance. Team selection all wrong, we were wide open in midfield. Away from home in a 2 leg tie, just keep it tight and play on the counter. I’ve got a ticket for Saturday but won’t be going
  19. It now looks like Allan and Wright were panic signings after Alegria going back to Rangers. Allan in particular, signed for a fee (probably not very much) but then hasn’t got any real game time and doesn’t fit into our style at all. Alegria has turned out to be a big miss, he frustrated the life out of me at times but was big enough and strong enough to play as a lone striker
  20. Post match interviews were interesting, McGinn seemed less than impressed with our defenders and rightly so. Just watched the highlights back, the 2nd and 3rd goals are so easily avoidable if the centre halves just take some responsibility. As has previously been mentioned, lower league Scottish football just needs defenders that can defend. The current partnership is too erratic
  21. 41yrs old and waking up at 4am like it’s Christmas morning. Come on Falkirk
  22. Just listened to Peter Grant on Falkirk Daft, thanks for the memories big man. Didn’t realise that he isn’t even 30 yet. Absolutely buzzing for this and now full of hope! COYB
  23. I think this was the last time we had a central badge. We wouldn’t go far wrong with something similar, maybe a bit less white on the top
  24. McGinn has looked as bad as anyone over the last month or so, why not give him some prolonged rest? McGlynn’s done it with Rowe so doing the same with McGinn must’ve been considered
