  1. Looks like it has potential as an appointment. If he achieves nothing else, getting everyone behind the strategy/direction/team will be a big step forward.
  2. Literacy snobbery or the ability to speak your own language? you say tomato.........
  3. What a solid addition to the debate you are. Keep up the Freddie Mercury impression. Calling other Clyde fans half wits is a nice touch. I have assumed you are a Clyde fan.
  4. Here is a question How many people are on the Board currently , and how many Directors have we had since the Spring of 2004 when the stih hit the fan? If we can work out an answer I am thinking it will be surprisingly high and a sign of instability.
  5. I'd be the smart, good looking one that ran away to the big smoke ....
  6. If they genuinely have anything to say, that is worthwhile and has any credence, then we are going to need a mediator. Otherwise it will take about 3 mins for someone to wind someone else up, and bang goes another opportunity. Too many egos and too many who just aren't up to it. And that's just the business side of it.
  7. Read back this post to yourself, and see if you can pick out the inconsistency!
  8. To my point of a few days ago. Factions. Impossible to move the club forward whilst this continues.
  9. I'm going to look on the bright side ................ If we have asked him to take time it is because 1. We are trying to figure out a way of getting money for him if he joins Rangers and 2. We have no idea who we could replace him with and need time to think..
  10. That is actually quite sad that you felt the need to do that amount of either back cataloguing or that you have been saving those posts somewhere for this day potentially arriving.
  11. Club website says......................... Annan Athletic v Clyde Sat, 25th Feb 2017 12:42pm Result and report to follow... ..... No game preview, and no news from the game at 7.15 pm Just as well it's not that important
  12. I'm sure our club website will be 1st with the scoop! oh , ok maybe not....... peaso so for player coach as the cheap option
  13. Once we get an answer to that question we can then move onto who I am a disciple of? Disciple 1. one of the 12 personal followers of Christ. 2. one of the 70 followers sent forth by Christ. Luke 10:1. 3. any other professed follower of Christ in His lifetime. 2. any follower of Christ. 3. (initial capital letter) a member of the Disciples of Christ. 4. a person who is a pupil or an adherent of the doctrines of another; follower: 5. A member of the 1970's Ferguslie Park street gang known as The Disciple - A nasty bunch they were.......
  14. I can't wait to see the reply. so take the option first offered?
  15. Yes, but he is claiming it isn't that with this reply. So it must be something else. Like your fellow disciple SLW, you have totally misinterpreted the acronym
  16. It is not as simple as one or the other of those two. There are several reasons in my opinion, and it is only my opinion... 1. History - financial pressure brought about by the initial over-spending which put the whole organisation at risk. 2. History - the very poor relationship with NLC which we had a hand in bringing about by not paying our bills etc. 3. People - not necessarily enough skilled and capable people to operate a 'successful' football club. 4. People - the lack of number 3 above, means one or two individuals drive the agenda 5. People - the very, very poor relationships which exist within the club and the support (read any thread on here) mean that those who may have the skills, time and motivation either never volunteer or do so, then quickly realise the folly of that decision. To work 5-20 hours a week for no pay and be verbally or otherwise abused, or have your motivations regularly questioned simply does not work for most people. Those who can stick it out do by either avoiding the 'noise' or are thick-skinned enough to hear it and ignore it. Neither of these are good grounds for relationship building. 6. People - in my experience too many 'football people' are not the type of individual I would want in my life. Billy Reid, Graham Roberts, John Brown and Barry Ferguson - who would volunteer to spend unpaid time in that company? 7. Supporters - 500 fans, 600 opinions and not many of them put forward in a rationale, supportive manner. 8. Supporters - those who stand for the Board too often think like fans and not Directors with responsibilities e.g. average 50% wage rises awarded to the 2004 team despite the financial issues, and all of whom jumped ship when a better offer came their way ( and why would they not?). This is understandable as we all want Clyde to be the best they can be, but you must make long-term, strategic decisions well. 9. CIC - Structure based on JA's previous employment experience. Installed to protect the club from making the same mistake again, but in my view a restriction on progress in some ways. 10. Community & growth - we made several big errors when we went to Cumbernauld and have never recovered. In some ways, name change aside, EK was an opportunity to correct that. To your point about me not being a CIC member, that is related to why I no longer attend with the exception of the very odd game. I will not engage in any meaningful way for the foreseeable future, but that has nothing to do with the CIC.
  17. Your request for him to un-mask himself might carry more weight if you yourself un-masked instead of hiding behind a 6 letter acronym for blind loyalty?
  18. What's the French for repeating the same stuff repeatedly?
  19. I would think the council tax alone would be in 5 figures for a sports stadium, the maintenance would be high, and the security (not game stewards) .....
  20. Brighton, I am only too aware of why the CIC 'employee owned' model was the one chosen. It was a governance structure the chairman knew well and believed in. It had one redeeming feature regarding the long term protection of the club. I am not sure that even fits. if someone really wanted the club a la Clydebank and Airdrie then it is not impossible to envisage a day when they could muster more members than Clyde fans could and control may slip away.
