If sports bars are your thing then Morrisons cold beer bar in centre of town would do. Irish Molly Malone's standard Belhaven bar just 50 yds away is ok. Proper Scottish bar is Port Customs just past M&S but could be full of fearsome Albion old-timers waiting for the P1/2 park n ride bus to Forthbank.
Cheers pal, looking forward to Saturday - I 'm almost certain Annan will be up for the game ( on a good streak of form, although counts for nothing in this situation ) and I would imagine Stirling with a big crowd will give it their all too.
Biggest game outwith the Premiership surely ?

Sorry guys let's get back to the fitba or at least the best pubs in town centre.
Usually go to Morrisons or whatever its name is now ( decent, food, fitba on tv,no pool table),no cheap now tho,
but the Irish bar seemed OK?

Dare not ask or check up on DG1 - the major swimming pool & Indoor Events theatre for D&G -I think the repairs cost more than the original cost to build.Forget the roads etc,etc

Odds on it's gonna be Stranraer v EK in play offs surely

We do indeed! Turn left for nail biting football - turn right for Morrison's retail experience. We need a big sign up: Forthbank Stadium: home of Stirling Albion, University of Stirling and various others - come along and support your local team. Next Home Game is: .............
It's owned by the council so never expect too much.
Oh no the council- nae chance if it's like D&G

Managers can only do so much with that budget though. Annan aren’t going to ever have a budget that gives a manager the chance to go beyond fighting relegation from League 1. There will be clubs in League 2 with more money probably.
You seem pretty intent on discrediting anything that Murphy has done though. He knows Gibson quite well so I don’t see why he wasn’t responsible for that signing. Annan will be shopping in a pretty shallow pool for players given the budget and location. I think once he leaves it’ll be a case of realising how good he was now that he’s away.
Murphy's done great what he has got- concentrated on the best of local ( D&G + Cumbria) + a few from Central belt.
No one can argue he hasn't improved or got the best out of these boys ( even Annan4eva ).
But like most clubs it seems not total transparency when it comes to the Financials so who are we small mortals to criticise

Forgetting any altruistic reasons or massaging their own ego's are there any benefits in joining the board to be hit with constant criticism ?
Accepted some people thrive on challenges and that is enough !

Nothing but contempt from me
Lets face it - last 2 games against them ,a team fighting relegation from League 1 (Annan) YOU could not beat them.
Mibs you're NOT the great shakes you think you are.
Can you handle the likes of Morton etc. ?
Championship is different gravy.

Sounds like a Celtic pub that.
Don't you mean The Hoppy, formerly known as The Hop, Step and Jump?
Aye stand corrected the Hoppy.
Hibs/ Celtic no much difference is there ?

Wasn't at the first away game but is there a wee social club nearby? Are the pies worthy of their capital status?
From the city side ,at the last street before the stadium walk up the hill and opposite to the left is Hoopy's bar.
It's a Hibee bar but sound both times we were in.

This game will be in the background of me sitting watching Bet365 updates on the Falkirk game.
Why no concentrate on Edinburgh beating Stirling.
Regardless of Annan , even if Cove beat Queen's the Stirling goal difference is so poor Queens would be safe.
A draw for Annan v Falkirk & an Edinburgh win over would put us in a great situation too.

Even if Falkirk win, Queens still might not get the job done if they lose their 2 games by an aggregate of more than 4 plus whatever Annan lose by.
Obviously, Falkirk winning is the best outcome for Queens but that’s not the end of it if Queens lose to Cove, Stirling beat Edinburgh and then draw with Annan. It might seem like a combination of results that is extremely unlikely but I’m sure Queens could do their bit to make it happen.Cove do have an attacking forward line !
The last day of the season should be interesting for a lot of teams in possible play off positions at both ends of the table.

Heard our new director is wanting us part time, so a chance he could stay with us if both are true.
Well why no join Annan - closer to home !

Still a few twists and turns yet - no team can take anything for granted but without boasting Annan's current play is pretty good.
Then again everyone watch the Edinburgh City penalty award & goal to see the big lampost fall down for no reason.
Probably the biggest injustice in League 1 all season.
Football can be strange and unfair.

Current form based on last 6 games Annan would be in 4th. spot ,just saying.

Cove need points next week and a week later Montrose too !
Do Falkirk need points ? No.
Somebody needs to beat them, we welcome the challenge.

Probably Queens last chance for any points this year but they do have a 3 point and goal advantage so they should be safe, don't shit your breeks quite yet !

Edinburgh had a good result to beat Montrose tonight.
Maybe Annan and Stirling both beating Edinburgh isn't the certainty that many are assuming.
Agreed but similarly the Cove defeat by Annan on Saturday and tonight's Montrose defeat makes both those teams games against Queens more vital in the chase for play off points. Tougher games for Queens.
At the end of the day it's down to your owns teams attitude and application - sprinkle in a little luck too.
