  1. 4-2-3-1 is not "a defensive formation". No formation is. It's about how it's applied. You can have a ridiculously attacking 4-2-3-1 or a rigid, defensive 4-3-3. I don't even think our application of the system is particularly defensive. Having said that, we need to have some degree of defensiveness to make up for our piss poor options there. We need to have at least one player shielding the two center backs, and it then follows that we should have one player alongside him to link the defensively minded midfielders with the more attacking ones. So the 2 part in the formation is valid. We're also quite well served with attacking midfielders, so makes sense to put 3 of them there. 2 up front is dead, so it's going to be 1. So...4-2-3-1. While I would like to see us try a similar system to what the OP said, I'm not convinced the answer to playing 2 poor central defenders is to play 3. Especially if we're telling the full backs to attack more. If we come up against any team that plays advanced wingers, then one of two things will happen. Either our full backs will get pegged back relentlessly and turn it into a 5 at the back (one less player getting forward) or the center backs have to come out. The thought of someone like Grant Hanley lumbering out to take on a rampaging winger gives me the fear. So the problem isn't that 4-2-3-1 is used. It isn't even that it's always used. It's the application of it, and a lot of the time it's some players putting in absolutely dreadful performances that undermine any system the manager puts in place.
  2. What he really needs is what you said, plus the time to just develop. What he doesn't need is the outrageous hype, and people screaming blue murder when he isn't selected for a squad. It was quite clear when he featured for Scotland that he has the raw attributes that will make a wonderful player in future, but he's nowhere near ready for all the hype he's getting. Yet.
  3. They're missing a trick if the trophy isn't a hand.
  4. Really hope Welsh gets both a decent offer and a long spell injury free. He got unfair criticism at times (although completely fair at others) and always liked him as a player. Good signing for our misshapes team Falkirk along with Baird, Muirhead and Craigan?
  5. Just got to the painting world in hearts of stone again. Forgot how amazing the whole questline is
  6. Some of the best build they managed was a spell a year or so back when there was a show every 2 weeks. They were forced into it,Not having enough time to stop and think and have a load of filler. The longer they have the worse it gets
  7. That was the best bit for me. The selling was brilliant, just the disbelief of what had just happened as he crawled over to him. Ciampa's creepy thousand yard stares were great too, particularly as he sat on the edge of the announce table watching him get treatment. The eventual match these two have has the potential to be one of the best NXT put on. When was the last time there was such a personal storyline in NXT that wasn't about just wanting to take a title away from someone? Zayn/Owens? This will top it I think. Whenever you see Ciampa really go at it, I don't think there's many on the roster that look like they are genuinely trying to kill someone. At least one repeat of the CWC match but with clear, real animosity...ooft.
  8. What an absolutely fantastic turn that was. Massive credit to gargano for selling the shit out of not just the beating but the emotional side of it. This feud is going to be incredible. Also, I'd say that's the best overall show they've put out in a long, long time. Absolutely wonderful.
  9. Should be Ciampa, but would be interesting to see gargano do it. Unless they're going to have them win the belts again...
  10. f**k sake Nigel - giving it "itami could get injured again", essentially "lovely house...would be a shame if it burnt down..."
  11. I wouldn't say he's been bad or anything, he's a good character, great entrance, plays the heel role very well. Just don't think the matches have been up to the standard of previous champions. Might just be that he didn't click with nakamura quite as well. Not sure he'd suit chasing the title quite as well so will probably retain here then maybe drop at summerslam weekend before moving up. Maybe.
  12. Anyone else find roode pretty boring as champ? Without just entrance I doubt he'd be anywhere near even that level.
  13. Good women's match, better than average triple threat Championship match on next though...are we getting something big in the tag match? DIY splitting up? Or are they just anticipating them putting on a much better show?
  14. Brave to put the ladder match right before the main - can see roode/itami being a let down after what will (hopefully) be an amazing match
  15. Yeah, cracking match here. Hopefully we see this defended more often if were getting matches like this
  16. They really fucked up with the episodic nature. I didn't get to play (although might still pick it up) but from watching let's plays and hearing about it, it looks like they made a pretty great hitman game. Then the publishers decided to f**k it up by forcing the episodes on it. Would've sold way better as just a normal game
  17. Viggo Mortensen, Niklolai Coster-Waldau and Mads Mikkelsen all rumoured for Gerald, all interesting choices. Can't help but feel it'll be nowhere near the game itself and will probably end up being pretty shit, but hopefully it's watchable and gives another window into the world.
  18. There isn't a real necessity to do side quests, particularly if you want to just get through the main story after getting a but bogged down. If you can level up to a good enough level without them, you'll still have a great time playing through the main. It can go either way with the side quests - you will miss out on a lot ot really interesting writing and fun quests but it's also really easy to spend hours and hours on side quests that don't really advance anything.
  19. [emoji1] Brilliant. More wrestlers should do that.
  20. Thursday at 8pm I believe. Not sure if that's our time or theirs though
  21. You'll enjoy it. A proper challenge at points and you have to really think about the battles you go into. I got caught in a group of about 8 Nekkers - you can take them out with about 3 hits, but when they're swarming around you it's hard to get hits off. Only just about survived.
  22. Finally managed to get past the frog Prince boss, but forgot that just a short while later you get another brutal fight with Olgierd. Not quite as bad as the first once you get the hang of the timing, but still, they really ramped up the difficulty a fair bit between the main game and the DLC. Still a fucking masterpiece though.
  23. I don't remember any other boss that is as unfair as that one...no spoilers but some of the end game ones I found tough but fair. You can see their pattern and Nick away at them no matter how you play. They really got it wrong with the road though, thing can brutalise you in seconds. I know dodging is a valid tactic but the way you have to do it here just seems like bad design in an otherwise brilliant game. Luckily hearts of stone is absolutely brilliant once you get past it.
