There's a certain grim fascination in watching someone crumble on the biggest stage. That "time since last pot" counter creeping up to the forty minute mark for Jones in this Dad's Army final.
Yeah, Allen can't be caught now.
Wilson the only seeded player left. O'Sullivan had a route to the final there without playing a seed, which I think may have been a first, had it happened.
Gilbert vs Wilson and potentially Stuart Bingham vs Jak Jones would be a pretty underwhelming semi-final line up.
Trump is a great lad for winning the best of 9 or 11 frame matches on a Monday in the minor tournaments. But his record in the big games and big tournaments must be beginning to worry him. 28 ranking tournament wins but only 1 UK Championship and 1 World Championship in amongst those. Not too shabby but considering the level he sometimes reaches, you'd expect more triple crown successes.
Good bit of sportsmanship from O'Sullivan there. 6-6 now. You'd still think he might run away with this but if Bingham can keep plugging away he has a chance.
He'll be absolutely delighted with that.
Maguire such a frustrating player, saw both sessions of his win over Carter and he looked in good nick, and even from what I've seen today his break building looks decent, but just losing every tight frame.
Picked up this in my local Co-op for £16 and pence. Blended malt from Arran, Islay and Orkney bottled at 46.8% and non-chill filtered. Not tried it yet but might grab another at that price. Not sure if its country wide deal or just reduced to clear at my local store.
McLeish's last game in charge was at Tannadice, a 1-0 defeat against a Utd side managed by...Tommy McLean. Which had a certain amount of irony around it, given McLeish totally ruined the legacy left to him.
Ah, I purchased the Apple Crumble and Jam Rolly ones as individual cans from Northern Monk's website - sounds like I've done well to avoid the brown ale there. It gets noticeably lower scores on Untappd.
On a similar note, Northern Monk's Scampi Fries in their 'Bar Snacks' range from earlier in the year was dreadful.
