  1. Thanks for that. Ah yes, the Book of Revelation.. not covered much in Sunday School. The delightful old bats were concentrating on the "gentle Jesus meek and mild", miracles , and of course the rainbows being messages from God stuff during my attempted indoctrination. The Book of Revelation stuff must have been for the older kids who hadn't escaped by then.
  2. Well if he did, he probably just ordered one and miraculously turned it into a huge banquet.
  3. Pardon my ignorance, but is China mentioned in the Bible? Can't recall hearing about it at Sunday School. Maybe it came in a later session after I realised it was all nonsense and left.
  4. Wasn't a major aspect of Trump's campaigns some absolute drivel about 'child abuse' ring being run by Democrats from the basement of a pizza restaurant that didn't even have a basement? Another valuable import from the political system that wants to show the world how great democracy is...
  5. I had to rewind that one. I reckon the pull on the jersey was a penalty but I'm not really surprised it wasn't given.
  6. What's the caft dunt complaining about? He should be delighted.
  7. Just switched on the telly... why do the 'Well fans think that Police Scotland are ruining fans' lives? They've done eff all to me.
  8. It's ok, I'm sure that there'll be another one along in a minute.
  9. Ah, Dundee... I well remember the excitement in my youth of "sack a city" ticket on the train for a couple of quid and the unmistakable aroma of the legendary onion bridie (or aninginyin as I understand the locals pronounce it.) If we don't win today we should have our arses kicked black and blue all the way home. It would be nice to score first and win the match at a canter, but given our recent form I'm not expecting it.
  10. I was talking about you, not to you. That's why I didn't tag you or reply to your post. Bye bye.
  11. Feeling a bit edgy about today. I think Celtic's late equaliser last week will have been a sickener. We need to hear some good news on the transfer front soon. I know it's early yet but no news is definitely bad news.
  12. Oh good. Another newbie who joins a football forum and immediately heads for the politics section. Quick question for the Mods... Is there any chance of making it easier and faster to add undesirables to the ignore list? Maybe just click on the name at the top left of their post and then on an option saying something like "add to ignore list"?
  13. Hold the front page... "Party that favours independence want to keep discussing independence". Also, were there any fresh offers from Sunak to help settle THIS YEAR'S pay claim? Oh aye, I'm sure two minutes in the presence of Sunak and everyone will be back to work faster than you can say "modern slavery with Victorian overtones".
  14. I can't understand all the negativity around the happy couple. They exhibit the kind of qualities we so desperately need in the third decade of the 21st century. Ha effing ha. The other day I mentioned Harry's apparent support for psychics when he seemingly used a woman with "powers" to try to get a message from his late mum. Now, it is reported in the book, when they had been together for about a year, Megan apparently visited Diana's tomb and laid her hands on it, hoping to receive "clarity and guidance“... from the corpse of a woman who had been dead for 20 years at that point. These are exactly what the modern UK needs. Folk in positions of influence who believe in the supernatural and who are unashamed about publicising it. They might think that publishing this 'spiritual' drivel helps their case. Please no. Surely not?
  15. He has quite a task in front of him. It won't be easy uniting rats fighting in a sack.
  16. I don't care how much of a Star Wars fan someone can be, nobody is waiting with bated breath for the return of that particular Jedi. Ok, it's late, I'll get my coat...
  17. In any discussion or more robust confrontation there are certain utterances that automatically give victory to the other person... "I know you are but what am I?", "you probably believe that the moon landings actually happened as well," "the election was stolen", that kind of thing. In Harry's case, his apparent belief in the power of a psychic to contact his deceased mother should end any credibility he might ever have had. Game over. I mean, I know that the institution apparently believes that they hold their position of prominence because a god says so, but for someone who believes in the monarchy to take psychics seriously? Sorry Willie boy, your brother has outed the whole revolting edifice... you are the weakest link, goodbye. Renounce your place in the pecking (@rse-kissing) order, take your brother for a pint and tell King juglugs the game is up Time for the whole ridiculous circus to call it a day. The Tories will be loving this... it's helping to keep their lot off the front pages. I'd rather the phone-ins were on food banks, the right to strike, the widening wealth gap and so on. Sunak will be delighted by this farce. Oh, and Andrew who if anything bad had happened to Charlie years ago could be King by now. Chew on that, royalists.
  18. Sir K giving Labour supporters in Scotland exactly the sort of information they need to reassure them that a Labour Government will give them what they want.. Unionist Conservatism. For goodness sake let's hope that nobody asks Sir K if he believes in evolution or if the Earth is flat... "Well, young Earth creationism has many interesting facets and its supporters make a compelling case. Flat Earth? Some would say the jury is out..."
  19. All this wind and piss really brings home the importance of continuing with the royal family as our divinely authorised heads of state for generations to come. Who could possibly doubt the example they set to us, lowly commoners that we are.
  20. (On the assumption that these stats are accurate) ... it would be interesting to hear a Tory response to the picture presented. On might almost think that the Tory approach to the NHS was worse for waiting lists. What am I missing?
  21. I suspect that a number of them are embracing it for no other reason than they would not want to be seen to be opposing the leadership at a time when they think they have a chance winning an election. To be fair I haven't noticed many folk on P&B embracing brexit whether they're allegedly Labour supporters or not.
  22. I know it's probably a forlorn hope, but the best thing we can do to help our NHS is for the majority of the population to become even just a little healthier than it is now. I have to confess that so far I have 'wintered well' and from today will be looking to get some weight off. We have had relatives staying with us since Christmas Eve, and so haven't been going out much and... the horror... have been having too many boozy meals and evenings. However the relatives leave today so a long walk this afternoon and every day is on the cards. I know that there appears to be little if any hard science behind the 10,000 steps a day target, (my target was 12,000) but even 10k must be better for the average person than sitting on the couch munching a Greggs. It's a long term issue, not just for my waistline but for the country as a whole.
  23. A Tory/right wing government might be possible in an independent Scotland but unlike the present shambolic Tory gang at Westminster they'd have to be promoting and implementing (if elected) policies that appeal to the Scottish electorate. "We" could only get a Tory/right wing government if "we" vote for one.
