  1. Yup, McMann has perhaps been a bit of an unsung hero for us this season. Nothing spectacular but he's been great at defending and linking up with Middleton down the left. If we had a RB who played as well as he did both attacking and defending we would be flying IMO. In the same boat with Cudjoe myself, he's scored some great goals this season and has definitely improved but I've yet to be convinced by him, not sure he's ever going to have the consistency to play at a higher level and certainly won't get there if he's refusing a new deal with us. Just can't see who would be willing to take a chance on him all things considered.
  2. Clearly wasn't fit enough! Shouldn't have been risked IMO. Worrying McMann has picked up a knock too, could really do with not having to rely on Duffy to fill in for him.
  3. Another Tony project that's been filled up with shite then. If half these laddies put a bit of a shift on at training as they did filling themselves with grandeur we would have done players on the books
  4. So McLeod recalled from Forfar since he wasn't getting game time and someone on twitter saying his attitude was apparently stinking there. Hopefully he gets put somewhere on loan where that gets sorted out and he starts getting on the score sheet then.
  5. I'd maybe actually swap them round in terms of role. Moult has a fantastic touch and work rate regardless of goals.
  6. We were in for Nicholson years ago.. I'd be looking at someone in the US second division that's a bit raw and younger if I was doing some digging.
  7. Wonder what type of player we'll bring in once poppadom hands is gone and there will be a little wriggle room on wages
  8. Think Grimshaw would be far far better in midfield as a destroyer. Would rather see him there dropping back to cover Freeman when he bombs forwards. Tonight was a mess. Just looked like they were calling it in for Christmas. No urgency, no spark. f**k sake.
  9. If United were going to have a dip at some point this season, as expected, then now is the best time to have it. First loss in the league of the season to your closest rivals for the title is a bit of a downer and the manner in which we lost reflecting that. However, given that most folks agree that was a pretty flat and toothless performance, where we matched a Raith team most say clearly wanted it more means that I'm not worried about where the title goes at the end of the season. Clearly this team matches even the best the league has to offer even when playing like yesterday. What we need now is a performance out the gates next week and start to instill that winning mentality again. Get out the slump and get back on top. Clearly need additions in January, for me top of the shopping list is a natural right back who fits the system and a striker, preferably more of a target man as we seem to have remembered how to cross this season. Tilson and Denholm to return to their clubs and a better defensive midfield option would be the icing on the cake.
  10. Not sure Grimshaw has much scope to be better. Yup definitely defensively more sound than Sheep but Freeman at least pushes the ball forwards and attempts to keep attacks alive. That said most of the team played within themselves today. Wasn't great to see a total lack of fight. Tbf though I don't think there was any particularly bad performances, just wasn't at the level we know they can play at.
  11. The answer to this was clearly no sadly. If any United supporter thinks Grimshaw is an upgrade on either Freeman or any other RB at the club today showed me why I had doubts a few games back about him. Technically not the worst but he just does some infuriating stuff slowing the play down and today he seemed to me to make the wrong pass every time. He does the stupid Smith-esque thing of checking the ball inside to the middle of the park rather than taking it direct or even doing a diagonal. Makes my blood boil.
  12. Not sure he would be the option we need upfront but tbh just having another striker would be a good start.
  13. Apparently Hibs are getting a ruling tomorrow or something? Think the SFA/SPFL are looking at changing the rules
  14. Some twitter rumours doing the rounds. Owner of Brentford looking to buy United. Bit more firm this one but Sibbald going to be signing an extension.
  15. Regardless of competition level, that was shocking tonight from United. Quite a few players poor tonight. Hope that's a wake up call for them and keeps the minds sharp on the task ahead.
  16. Honestly don't know what to make of that tonight. Patterson wasn't used to his strengths, don't think Taylor is good enough to be on the pitch. Midfield improved second half, Gilmour had an awful evening, well below his tidy standards. First bit of criticism I'll level at Clark he got it wrong tonight I think.
  17. Word on the pavey is the bold Walton, Mr Gloves of Steel himself might be inclined to stay and noises about a PCA are abounding.
  18. Agree with most of this but Doc keeps it ticking forwards too. Tillson, I'm starting to seriously dislike He pings a ball back to the defenders then does this stupid sprint into the final third so if the defender loses the ball he's got an extra 20yds to cover for a defensive midfielder. Not the worst player but there's things about him that irritate me.
  19. Aye I think it will be for the best for Sheep to move on. Have a lot of time for the laddy from when he was here before but for his own good a move should suit. Watch him go somewhere else and tear the place up though.
  20. Similar thoughts to mines. I don't think he was terrible at all but yeah scared to take people on. He was doing a very able impression of Liam Smith.
