  1. Brilliant. Wighton has been injured for most of my season so far. Thankfully I have Klimala on loan from Celtic or I'd be very lightweight up front. I've not even started planning for the Premiership yet, albeit I still have 11 games to play. Hopefully winning the League Cup could see a nice boost to my transfer budgets for next season.
  2. I started one unemployed today and got a job interview at Hamilton midway through season one, and they only had £20k.
  3. Same happened to me with Boyce midway through my season. Can't remember the exact injury, but out for upto 9 months. Did you try and go for Ginnelly on a permanent deal? I opened pre-contract talks with him as soon as it was possible, and Hibs even came in for him too. Was confident of getting him in, but Preston gave him a new deal. Gutted.
  4. 16 games into the Championship season with Hearts, and yet to lose. 13 wins and 3 draws so far. In to the Betfred Cup final where Motherwell await, and into the last 16 of the Scottish Cup too. Celtic seem to be a lot weaker this year if my Hearts save is anything to go by. Out both cups (They lost to Hibs at home at the first hurdle in the Scottish) and not top of the Premiership. Rangers are top, but out the League Cup too, so maybe a decent season to have some league success with other clubs.
  5. He's ridiculous in FM20. Often ends up on loan at Hibs on it. On my Hearts FM20 save he scored in every derby, sometimes twice. Hope he's as useful for me on this one.
  6. @SGMilne not sure if this is really your bag mate, but I've made a wee observation of Hearts player ratings. Most if not all, seem spot on, but Scott McGill, who's been getting game time IRL, isn't very highly rated at all, and is considerably worse than other youth prospects who haven't played in the first team.
  7. Didn't have much budget at Hearts either but it is realistic in fairness. Sold Damour and loaned out Frear to get a wee bit off the wage bill. Tried to bin White but no **** wants him. Brought in Patryk Klimala on loan from Celtic as back up to Boyce and he scored a hat trick against Cowdenbeath in the Betfred Cup on his debut. Still really enjoying it so far. 2 from 2 in the Betfred.
  8. It is nippy. Every game there's a comment 'starting <insert player> is an awful decision. Every ****ing game.
  9. Can't wait to see how rapid Touch is when that's out.
  10. In fairness, they released a statement discussing how Covid related issues IRL would be reflected in the game. One of them was the financial affect it's had on clubs. Namely, players who aren't at the top level of the game will lose quite a bit of value in season 1, although come season 2, things should get back to normal. You might find if you are trying to sell players too, it's harder in season 1 and that you'll get more loan to buy offers than normal.
  11. I picked a large database at the start with 16,000 players. Miles put something up on his Twitter the other day and compared it with FM20. Can't remember the numbers, but 21 was apparently designed to be much quicker.
  12. Game feels a lot smoother than 20 and processes quickly. Started with Hearts and got through a few weeks of nothing, and played a bounce game. 3D match engine looks better than 20 but that's only 1 game so we'll see. One thing I did like though in my bounce game, was strikers actually score 1-on-1's!
  13. Ach I know. Like I said, it's the first time I've pre-ordered so wasn't sure where was best. I know it can be good to shop around but then I didn't want ripped off either. I'll learn for next year.
  14. What's the script with the beta, is it available for everyone who pre-ordered? I bought it on Steam last week and it was only after that I read something about early release, but not sure if that applies to everyone. This is honestly the first time I've pre-ordered an FM title so excuse my lack of knowledge.
  15. Just beat Celtic 1-0 at Parkhead to progress to the last 32 with Angers in our first European campaign. Beat Maritimo and Sparta Prague to get to the groups, so quite lucky to avoid some of the bigger names. Given a tough group though, of Villarreal, Celtic and Malmo. Failed to win my first 3 in the group, losing 3-0 at Malmo, 5-2 at Villarreal and drawing 0-0 at home to Celtic. Beat VIllarreal 1-0 at home to give me real fighting hope but thought I'd ****ed it by drawing 1-1 at home to Malmo in MD5. Final game showdown saw me, Celtic and Malmo all level on points so a win was an absolute must, and needed Villarreal to beat Malmo too. Results lined up perfectly, and my young Italian 3rd choice striker who I signed from Genoa in the summer, scored his first goal for the club with minutes to spare!
  16. Switched back to FM19 to keep me occupied until 21 is out. Loaded up the top 2 leagues in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Germany and Spain and clicked the random team button until one stood out. Was looking for a top tier team, but someone who would be quite a challenge. Got Angers in France. Very good first season. Expected to finish 13th but sat in the top half of the table all season, and snuck 6th on the final day which was a Europa spot. Cups didn't go to plan, my bogey team Nimes beat me in the Coupe de la Ligue early on, and I got to the last 16 of the French cup but drew PSG away and needless to say, went out. Just about to start season 2 now. First Europa qualifier was against some Armenian mob who I've just pumped 9-1 at home in the first leg. Group stages is of course the expectation. Done some solid business, but ultimately all young players with good sell on value. Would love to try stay top 6, and eventually push for CL. With the countries I've loaded, I was looking at a sort of journeyman career, but if I'm doing good things at Angers, I'm in no rush to leave.
  17. Really hoping the match engine is improved significantly. Goalkeepers bending down to pick up shots and it going through their legs, strikers missing every chance they get etc. FM20 has been an absolute nightmare.
  18. Exact thing is happening to me. Thought I was going mental. Had to reset my laptop about 5 or 6 weeks ago and re-install things. I didn't notice it instantly, but I've really become aware in the last week or 2 that it's happening and it's really annoying me. I only got FM20 back in April after playing 19 for a few months and tactically, I noticed big differences in the 2. It took me a good few weeks to actually start enjoying FM20 because I really couldn't settle on a tactic. Then I finally found my magic formula, and had some great fun but like you, I'm now getting mightily pissed off at my sudden change of fortunes. Even jumped on my Ajax save last night for a quick couple of games, scraped a 1-0 win at home to Excelsior and got gubbed 3-0 at Groningen on the final day. I'd only lost once all season prior to that. Really losing motivation to continue playing 20 now.
  19. I'm not aware of any either tbh, English speaking of course. Best I seem to find is when they discuss anything German related on the Totally Football Show with Raphael Honigstein.
  20. For me, Dortmund's big problem is the manager.
  21. All I ask is that they allow steam data to download into FM Touch. By which I mean custom databases etc. Especially GIbraltar when it's an official patch.
  22. Waiting on the odds, but Schalke to go down could be good value this year.
  23. Have Hearts moved to the 40,000 capacity Vladimir Romanov Arena yet? (Genuinely happened on FM2007 once).
  24. It's just a friendly when I'm there so can't imagine there'd be a big crowd, plus the kick off time isn't ideal for many I'd assume. Then again, being a friendly, they might just play it at the training ground or whatever. I just assumed it was in the stadium. Not good news about the spike. In a way though, I'd probably rather my holiday was cancelled. Booked it a few weeks before lockdown here.
