  1. As the full time scores came in today on Gillette Soccer Saturday, all of the Scottish Cup ties which ended draws read underneath 'Extra Time to be Played'. Cue me, thinking the SFA have perhaps changed the rules in the early rounds, going on Livescore 5 minutes ago to see how the ended up, only to find out the replays still exist. *****.
  2. Will playing it on Stadia mean you don't need such a high performance device? My laptop isn't good enough for the real new ones, I just play older versions with the most up to date databases. Really need to invest.
  3. The worst of it was the Megabus was rammed full because it passed through Newcastle, and not even the Geordies could get a train home at that time. Then again, I think it was the fact it got punted to 5.30 was the real reason we managed to get a ticket, so every cloud and that. This time, it's a combination of them being rank, and the fans being so against Ashley and Bruce. If it means away days in London, then long may it continue.
  4. Excellent cheers. Will certainly use that I think. 3pm kick offs are fine in London, just that Chelsea vs Newcastle match was a half 5 kick off.
  5. Can you book on that through the train line or does it have to be through them direct? I've never seen the times come up on the train line.
  6. Also going to London again in December with my girlfriend. She wants to do something on the Saturday night so I've decided we can go to a game in the afternoon. We plan on being situated in Shoreditch so West Ham and Millwall were the obvious choices. West Ham play Arsenal that day which will likely be moved for TV and will be pretty pricey, so thinking Millwall vs Forest instead. Besides, after my last post, I'm already doing West Ham plus I can't help but feel that going down Millwall is a must for football fans. I've been told to go to Brentford as I believe this is the last season at Griffin Park and I've been told it's a great ground, but sadly they're away that day. I would really have liked to do Leyton Orient, but they too are away that day. I believe we'll be in Cambridge at the end of January too for a party on the Friday night. Obviously I looked and found Cambridge are at home on the Saturday, so it would be rude not to.
  7. My m ate got us tickets for the Newcastle end at West Ham in November. If it's half as good as our trip to Chelsea in January, we're in for a cracker of a day. Train down and up this time. We flew down and got the overnight Megabus back last time. Flying to a match was a bit surreal, and the overnight Megabus was awful. Almost missed it by going to McDonald's and Sainsbury's to get food and bevvy to keep us occupied on the journey. They got confiscated and put in the hold before we could even step foot on the bus. As soon as we got home, we cracked open a warm Stella, and devoured a cold, congealed McDonald's. Mmm. Train back is first class as it was somehow cheaper than standard. Although something tells me 3 lads who've been down in London on the piss all day will get rumbled quite quickly in first class.
  8. Only real way is getting memberships but even then, without much of a purchase history, you'll be lucky to get much. My girlfriend supports them and I've managed to take her 3 times. Cup games are easiest to get your name on the system. We went to a League Cup semi at home to Hull, got lucky with 2 tickets to the 4-1 win over Newcastle a while back, and last season used the Edinburgh Reds to get down to Watford last season. Maybe look up edinburgh reds on social media and drop them an email? Sure they'll be happy to help but the chances of you getting much without a membership could be slim.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49521007 The photo on the BBC article says Boruc is in black, yet it doesn't even look like him and every other picture of him last night has him in a totally different outfit.
  10. 11 games left of season 4 with Berwick. Currently on a run of 8 straight wins which has me 5 points clear of Ross County whom I play at home in 2 weeks. Massive end to the season coming. Promotion to the Championship would be unbelievable. Hoping to hit a million in the bank account before the seasons out too. Would be nice to try and get my youth facilities upgraded before the new intake comes in.
  11. Depending on the EL draw today, Scotland has a pretty good chance of overtaking Serbia.
  12. Just the 2 mentions of Rangers in an article on BBC about Foster leaving Saints for County.
  13. Another who was at Peffermill this evening. Berwick 1-0 winners thanks to a well taken finish from substitute Yaw Osei. Not a lot in it tbh, Edinburgh Uni probably feeling like they should've got something. Game of football, cheeseburger and a can of coke all for a tenner.
  14. But the reality is, not all of these figures are Walter Mitty's. Or at least not yet proven to be. Look at Man City. The first English club really to be pumped full of cash. A decade on and they've reaped the benefits on the park, while off it they've been totally transformed. It's easy in hindsight to say fans should do more, and in the case of clubs who've had their fingers burnt, their fans should know better. But when that carrot is dangled in front of you, and those dark days of yo-yoing the leagues seem like a thing of the past, it's easy to get sucked in to someone's promises.
  15. Fans of every club in this situation have been guilty of the same. Sadly, we don't realise our own failings until we are in that position ourselves. You telling me if some big millionaire bought Morton tomorrow and pumped youse full of cash, you'd be immediately scared about the future? Would you nowt. You'd be enjoying the ride like every other poor bugger.
  16. And what do you expect the fans do in these situations? 'Our Bolton are in the Premier League, it's disgusting, let's boycott it'. Most fans are totally oblivous to what's even going on behind the scenes at their own clubs. Speaking from experience, I bought into the Romanov hype at Hearts like thousands of others did. When we almost went bust, it was purely at the fault of Romanov and his mercernaries. Point I'm making is, you've every right to not have sympathy for these clubs when you think about who they've hurt in their trail of financial destruction, but it's the people who run the club who are to blame, not the fans at all.
  17. Would be a cracking place for a game and potential to build it up into a cracking arena should the demand need it. Very interested to see how Iceland grows as a nation, as well as a footballing one. A massive country in terms of land, and so much space in Reykjavik. They seem to be actively looking to bolster the population and subsequent infrastructure too. In football terms, they've already grown now to a fairly stable and competent nation. I think in 20-30 years time, they'll be a very strong nation indeed.
  18. In the true sense of MLS, yeah, but I wasn't necessarily saying that should be the case per se. More just thinking a way that the power that be can protect clubs from being used and abused by some mental millionaire.
  19. Absolutely. Thought crossed my mind earlier about how MLS pretty much own all of the club there. Not saying that's the answer here as it makes teams 'franchises' which I'd be wholly against, plus governing 72 clubs would be near impossible. But yes, like you say, basically stops an individual coming into a club and ****ing ruining it. Sad stuff it really is.
  20. We played them in the UEFA Cup in 2000, but sadly not there. Was played at the national stadium instead. Cracking ground that is too. You can see right in it from behind the goals. Right next to Throttur Reykjavik's ground.
  21. Was at Berwick vs Newtongrange on Saturday, Edinburgh Uni vs Berwick tonight and Newcastle vs Watford to come this Saturday. Turning into a right wee North East sympathiser.
  22. Can anyone explain to me how Wolves were awarded that penalty on Sunday. Even with VAR, I feel that's a shocker.
  23. I struggle to understand anyone who wants to see clubs like these gone from football, rivalry considered. Wouldn't wish anything like this on any club really. It's easy to say they're getting what they deserve, and that's true as far as the individuals behind these clubs are concerned. But, it's not the chairman or anyone there I feel sorry for. Not even the players, I'm sure they'll move on. But these clubs have thousands of ardent supporters who are about to have a big part of their life taken from them and I honestly feel distraught for them. Having coming close to that myself, it's not nice at all. You feel the EFL going forward have a duty of care for allowing some of these charlatans into football clubs, and you really do wonder what the fit and proper persons test actually consists of.
