  1. Saw this on Facebook. In an alternative universe, this isn't the meh derby.
  2. Anyone know of any good German football websites, especially something which has scores and tables for Regional and Ober leagues?
  3. Watched the Schalke match on Saturday. Not great, but competent and a point at Gladbach isn't a bad result. On to Saturday for the visit of Bayern. I'd bite your hand off for a point.
  4. Season 4 with Berwick has been great so far. Played up til December and only lost 1 match. Particular highlights, 3-0 win away at Ayr, 3-0 at home to Ross County and a 5-0 win over East Fife. Game I lost was Stranraer away. Them, us, County and Brechin are the top 4, only a couple of points seperating us, which is a wee bit frustrating considering I've only lost 1 of about 15 games. Most seasons I'd be running away with it, but I'd just be happy to finish in the playoffs. Knocked out every cup at the first stage though which has been pish, but I've got about £800k sitting in the bank. Downside is, it's near impossible to sign anyone decent. Even players at League One clubs lower than me aren't interested. Tried to sign a young winger from Hibs, rejected because he didn't want to leave Edinburgh, signed for Cork City a week later...
  5. Eventually saw out the end of my 3rd season with Berwick. Not had time much to play recently, so it's took me weeks. Consolidated in 5th place in League One, which I'm happy with. Finished quite some way off either set of playoffs but it's something to build on for sure. Struggled to get form together though. The story of the season was winning 3 or 4 games on the bounce, followed by 3 or 4 defeats off the back of that. At one point I did get to about 7 points off 4th place Peterhead with games to spare, but lost my last 5 matches which put an end to that. Low point of the season was a 7-0 defeat to Partick at Firhill in the league, set up in a 4-5-1 to frustrate them and was 3 down in 8 minutes. Lost in the first round of the League Cup, lost in the 3rd round of both the Scottish and Irn Bru cups. Up to about £600k in the bank though, largely buoyed by a £200k sell on fee from someone I signed in the first season. That should hopefully allow me to sign a few players needed to kick on in League One. Coming into my 4th season, I'm starting to look ahead and hoping that if I don't hit the ground running this season and make the playoffs, I'll be subject to offers from other clubs. Only job I've been linked with though was Stirling Albion recently, despite them finishing about 15 points behind me in League One.
  6. Whelan played as many games last season in the league as our whole team did. I'd like to think we could get at least 1 good season out of him. Be another very good experienced head in the team too. Could be a role model for young Harry.
  7. Maybe that's what we need in the team. We looked pretty good in the second half of 17/18 with Adao in the team. Hatchet men ain't pretty, but seriously effective when they work out. This is where I laugh at peoples stereotypes of Levein and his big physical team. I mean, apart from Uche and possibly Haring (athletically physical, not hatchet) who is of that mould? I'll not count centre halves as being big and physical is kinda part of the bargain.
  8. Seen this belter on Facebook last week. Where do you even start? FYI, this was a night where there were Betfred Cup games on and I think only 2 or 3 of the teams were even playing, none of them against each other. Not to mention, the league hadn't started, and 2 teams there aren't even Premiership teams.
  9. Don't think I'd go as far to say I support anyone, apart from Hearts obviously. If teams do well though, good on them. Although it's hilarious seeing Celtic or Rangers getting torn apart by someone.
  10. Probably agree with that. I was at the game last night, and I also thought you're crying out for a midfielder with a bit of steel. It seems McGinn, McGeouch and Bartley have never really been replaced. Shelvey got so much time and space on the ball to spray passes all around, and no one really took ownership in midfield to make it harder. That said, I'm told Josh Vela is that style of player so we'll see.
  11. I was there too. Newcastle got a reduced allocation because of the ongoing stadium construction at the time. It coincided with my mate going on holiday and he was gutted, but this has made up for it. 3 of us in the Toon end, and a few mates of ours in the Hibs end so making a proper night of it.
  12. Easter Road beckons tomorrow for Hibs vs Newcastle. Not really a random match anymore as I've been to that many Newcastle games recently. My toon supporting mate informs me that they've sold out the whole allocation of 3000+. I'm in among them obviously.
  13. OP has previous over there, and while I don't know him personally, I am aware of who he is. He's definitely not the full schilling for sure. My personal favourite post was when being called out as a shitebag, he pointed out that 'ah used to sit wi the boys in sections N and G ken?'
  14. Usually 2 games live on TV on the opening weekend but not this year which is odd. With Killie, Rangers and Aberdeen all going into the Europa, it would've made sense to just have both games on the Sunday from the off, both televised.
  15. Fair enough if you genuinely go and watch Liverpool as much as you can, but I know folk who went claiming to be big reds, and they couldn't point to Merseyside on a ****ing map. I contemplated going as a total neutral, just for the opportunity to watch 2 decent sides. I've seen Liverpool a couple of times of St James recently though, so was more enticed by watching Napoli as I've never seen an Italian team play. The minute I saw the ticket prices though, I thought, **** that.
  16. As much as I can see why he might've been a bit of a pain in the arse at times, I can't help but feel really ****ing shan on wee Mark. As long as Jesus loves him though, he'll be fine.
  17. They are what they are. If you play the PC version, you pay £30 or whatever for a huge, complex database that can take you as long as you want to get round it. With the phone version it costs around £8 on release day, so you don't expect a lot. It reminds me of the good old days of Champ Man where you just flew through games. I'll still spend a lot of time during pre season scouting players etc. Like I would on the PC, but once you're up and running you can fly through a season in hours. There are ways to make it challenging, but ultimately it is pretty easy. But it's still pretty damn realistic, and far more so than any other football management type sim on that platform.
  18. For about a year, there was a Chinese lad in my primary class. He sat all day writing down players and their Champ Man stats. We were quite fond of Champ Man so tried to talk to him and look at what he was writing, but he would respond angrily and try and nip you.
  19. The Evening News made him their MOTM too. **** them though.
