  1. What do Alloa fans think of the lad at right back (Doyle I think?). Was drinking with his old man before the game at Tynie a couple of weeks ago and heard how he was on the books with Killie and even Celtic I think although at a very young age. His old man told us before the game that he's the quickest player in the league. Hard to say for certain but the boy is a whippet. Thought he had a decent game against us.
  2. The tickets are with my mates supporters club over in Germany but I'm sure he could ship them over for me. Had no idea football fans get free rail travel. Sounds fairly straightforward, cheers for the advice mate.
  3. Shit aye, I was told Cologne too in fact. The hotel in Gelsenkirchen was already pre booked for the Saturday night only so looking to stay in one of the big cities on the Friday night. Out of those 3, where would you suggest might be better for a decent night out? I'd also need to be in Gelsenkirchen about 11am so need to be able to get there via train early doors.
  4. Can't be arsed reading the whole thread but I'm going to Schalke vs Paderborn in May. Got a mate over there who's talked me through travel. Yet to book my flights but we're flying to Dusseldorf on the Friday night, train to Gelsenkirchen on the Saturday morning and spend the night there after the match. Be looking to be back in Edinburgh on Sunday night. Gelsenkirchen doesn't have an airport so Dusseldorf, Dortmund and Munster were the closest options. Munster I think was the furthest away of the 3 cities and while Dortmund generally sounds more appealing, I believe there's a 3-4 hour transfer in Paris as opposed to a 1 hour stop in Amsterdam on the Dusseldorf flight.
  5. When I worked on the building sites there was another labourer I worked with called by his surname Murdoch, as a reference to the A Team. Soon after, we got another new labourer who was a big fat b*****d and reeked of stale sweat. Subsequently he became B.O Baracus. Best ones in my work the now is The Oracle, who never shuts up while the others are not very PC. A guy called Andrzej, known as Andrex (toilet roll, pole etc.) there's an Asian boy called the Flying Carpet as he just hovers about everywhere. The other is Gay Ross, because there's 2 Ross' in my work and we needed a way to differentiate. Gay Ross hasn't been here long and is into grooming therefore, Gay Ross. Although, he didn't like that so the Newtown Rentboy stuck for a while.
  6. My only memories of Brno was Hearts always drawing them in the UEFA Cup in LMA Manager 2001. Best thing I've learned about Czech football is the Bohemians/Bohemians Prague story. Both clubs with near identical badges, identical colours but one absolutely despises the other. Can't remember the ins and outs but isn't a similar story to the MK Dons/Wimbledon thing? Except in this instance, Wimbledon remained the same but the fans jumped ship to AFC Wimbledon.
  7. Great goal to make it 2-1 Leeds. Have to admit though, I don't know half these players at Leeds.
  8. Seen these before and they are by far the weirdest things I've ever seen on the internet. The Paulo Sergio one is a belter too.
  9. League won. But we still aren't winning things fairly. We're clearly still cheating.
  10. It wasn't a Van Basten style volley from Law to say the least, but anyway, like I've said, I'm defending Gallagher as another poster said he's pish. We haven't seen much to suggest he's neither pish or good.
  11. It wasn't me that said Gallagher was shite mate. I'm defending him.
  12. World class save? Ok then. The volley from Law was pish, he fluffed it. There was barely any pace on the ball at all. It was at the perfect height to get a bit more on it and had he have played a bit more football he might have got more on it. It was hardly requiring Craig Gordon's save against Bolton was it?
  13. He's in the 7th week of his 6-8 week recovery so can't be far off, but we need to make sure he's fully fit no doubt. We've got cover that are doing just fine. Can't wait to have him back though, he's one of those players who genuinely excites me. Just his pace and instinct is frightening at times.
  14. My only complaint about Gallacher from what I've seen was the ibrox equaliser. Felt he should have got a stronger hand on it and at least parried it although really should've tipped it wide or over. Given though that he was just on and probably hadn't played much football over summer, I'd imagine that was just a wee bit of rustiness. Plus we won the game anyway so who cares.
  15. Because you can't injure someone with a chainsaw. Moron.
  16. In fairness, Hamilton hasn't done anything to prove he can fight for number 1 either. Couldn't do much about the goals he conceded to Hibs and Falkirk as they were quality finishes but he's rarely been tested when I've seen. I don't know what he was like against Raith as I wasn't there and I can't remember if he was in against Stenny as again I wasn't there, but Hibs and Falkirk didn't put him under any pressure or force saves out of him at all.
  17. His goal against Celtic was a beauty too. Didn't he also score an absolute raker against Aberdeen?
  18. Might be worth pointing out that any pub near Tynecastle is away fan friendly except from the obvious mobs. Stratfords is my personal favourite on Gorgie Road and it's a busy pub but quite a decent size too. Diggers is massively popular with both home and away fans. Robertsons has changed as well to a family restaurant/pub called Pryde's. Not sure what it's like but a lot of Jambos still drink there plus you'll get a scran too. Not sure how away fans would get along in Tynie Arms but I'd imagine they struggle to get in anyway given the place is Tynie and usually packed quite early.
  19. Got a mate in Germany who I'm going to visit in May, looking to take in Schalke vs Paderborn while there.
  20. Remember his name from playing FM with Ajax. Liking this Dutch connection we're establishing.
