  1. Have to say I'm quite happy with Leodhas telling us how we should be doing FalkirkTV, as Alloa's is a superior product. Even Edinburgh City, probably the most tin-pot club in the SPFL have a better picture quality. I think we all appreciate the work the volunteers do, but it's clear things could be improved a lot with a little bit of technical know-how
  2. I couldn't really make out what the formation was tbh. It sort of looked like a 5-3-2 for the first couple of minutes with Agyeman and Mackie as the wing backs, but changed to 4-2-3-1 within the first 5 minutes. Everyone was in their usual roles apart from Henderson at CB and Donaldson at RB. We actually started the game ok (just not at the very high standards we've been setting recently) and created a few chances, it certainly didnt look like Edinburgh were going to race into a two goal lead. But as soon as they got their goals you could tell we were in trouble and it was obviously going to require getting Miller, McCann, Yeats etc on at half time.
  3. Clearly pulls Donaldson back. Don't know why the Edinburgh defender is trying to claim it was outside the box either
  4. Difficult to tell from the view but still looked like 4-2-3-1 to me with a back 4 of Mackie Henderson Lang & Donaldson. McGinn and Spencer sitting behind Ross Oliver and Agyeman, with Allan up front. Didnt work at all with Agyeman, Allan and Mackie particularly poor. McGinn didnt look fit and Donaldson was clearly uncomfortable at right back. Think he might have swapped with Lang at some point who looked equally out of position there. Hopefully McGlynn has learned his lesson, 2 points needlessly thrown away
  5. Thought it was a clear penalty tbf. Unlike the free kick and corner Edinburgh got their two goals from, which were both absolutely terrible decisions
  6. Farcical reason to delay a kick off. Every time we come here there is something. Get this mob back down to the lowland league where they belong
  7. I really fucking hate Celtic and Rangers. With a proper creamy passion. I really hate Dunfermline as well, but not quite as much. Airdrie, Livingston, Stirling, Morton and the local clubs are all very meh for me. I'd probably go for Airdrie next due to the unionist/nazi thing though tbf I reckon that's a really tiny percentage of their supporters. One of my work colleagues is an Airdrie fan and he's a good guy. Though I only started following football and Falkirk around 2002 so missed when the Airdrie rivalry was strongest and see Livingston as less of a franchise than many as they've been around since I can remember. At least these guys support their local team and I generally find my dislike comes because of the fans rather than the club itself. It really doesnt bother me that much if they don't like Falkirk - at the end of the day they're all diddy teams with very few fans and largely irrelevant to us long-term. I'd probably rather get one over on Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen or the Dundee clubs as they are decent scalps for us. I'm all for certain games having that extra bit of spice but for me that comes more from having actual meaningful games during/at the end of the season rather than anything else and us not being a total basket case on the park.
  8. Good that MacIver is only out for a couple of weeks, he should hopefully be back for the next league game at Alloa Don't think it would be a bad thing for Yeats to get a rest either as is being reported, think he tired as last season went on which was why Rowe was brought in. Doesn't surprise me given the amount of distance he covers, even on Tuesday in the 86th minute he's played a 1-2 midway inside his own half, run the length of the park before laying the ball off for Oliver to score. Bisland didn't put a foot wrong down at Annan so no issue with him coming in. I'd be a little more hesitant about starting McGinn but if Henderson or Spencer need a rest then so be it
  9. Now I like talking about hypotheticals as much as the next fan, but there's still a long way to go in this league before we can be sure we are in the Championship next season. 16 games or 48 points to be exact, given we'll only be 8 points ahead of Hamilton if they win their game in hand, there are still many things that could go wrong. Whilst I accept we have hardly been dropping any points and don't look like starting to, they could easily come to TFS in a few weeks, shitfest to epic proportions and steal a goal from a corner (the first home game against Dunfermline last season anyone?). That is more likely and that sort of shift in momentum could be huge. What I will say is it is encouraging that Dunfermline went up with a weaker squad than we have now, signed no one (apart from 3 guys they already had on loan + Alex Jakubiak), are in the middle of a massive injury crisis and yet are still doing fine. And Airdrie went up with a similar quality squad to what we had last season, looking at their team that beat Raith on Saturday and 90% is unchanged from those play-off matches against us *shudder* and are also doing fine. They also lost Callum Smith in the summer who was one of their better players IIRC We need to make sure we get the job done this season first and I'm sure McGlynn will be drilling this in to the team to keep our eyes firmly on the prize.
  10. Now I am no commercialist, but it sounds like we need to invent some new matchday sponsorship opportunities.
  11. Fair play to Dave Mac for that outstanding shithousery at full time over the tannoy btw, bring him home
  12. I'd only rest players if they are carrying knocks. Otherwise keep the 11 the same. Hopefully Lang and Donaldson are both fit as they at least made it through the 90 minutes. Another chance to see what Shanley can do, thought he did well last night when he came on. You've got to feel a bit sorry for Jordan Allan though
  13. Burrell getting absolutely noting out of Lang and Donaldson all evening was the cherry on the icing on top of the Navy Blue cake btw
  14. Bairns 4 Ratboy 0 Absolutely rinsing that Tramp's mob was incredibly satisfying. Huge pressure on Hamilton now
  15. I don't remember Cove having a shot? Just need to keep doing what we are doing. MacIver has absolutely ragdolled their central defenders so far
  16. Less than 150 tickets left for the KM7 Stand so the cash turnstile will be at the main stand again
  17. Excellent piece, hopefully adds a few more on to the crowd tonight. I'd put a lot of those yellows down to totally incompetent refereeing tbf. I think at the Kelty game recently Falkirk had 6 bookings and 5 of them were for absolutely f**k all. Even at the Queens game on Saturday I think Donaldson caught McKay on the halfway line with nothing more than a slightly mistimed and clumsy challenge. He then proceeded to roll around in apparent agony - until the yellow card was flashed, making a miraculous recovery seconds later with no physio treatment required. He also tried to get Nesbitt booked with similar antics. Sadly the refs at this level are all too easily fooled. A lot of these yellow cards have been delivered farcically early in games as well, so as mentioned above the likes of Donaldson, Lang and Henderson have often successfully negotiated 70 minutes+ on a booking, so fair play to them for that. We've also often been a few goals up allowing said booked player to be subbed early or simply cruise through the remaining minutes
  18. Hamilton vs Stirling rearranged for Saturday 20th January. So looks we'll only have the extra game for one round of fixtures which is a shame
  19. Of course our current squad would need improvement, even though we've hardly had to break sweat to dispose of the Championship sides we've faced in the cup competitions so far. The promoted full time sides from this league over the last few years (Dunfermline, Airdrie, Queens Park, Partick, Raith, Livingston, Ayr, Sevco etc) have all done absolutely fine after getting into to the Championship, generally flirting with the promotion play-offs. A few new additions and I don't see why we couldn't replicate that. Livingston even managed a double promotion I think and they've only got 4 fans. Hope you manage to pip Dundee United to the title. And cheers for Spencer and Lang, both have absolutely pished it at this level. Which makes a refreshing change from many of the players we signed in previous seasons who were supposed to be able to do that, but often turned out to be absolutely shite instead.
  20. Thought Spencer came across very well and certainly didn't give any ammunition to Cove. Saying we should be in the Premiership with our size of fanbase, infrastructure and facilities isn't remotely controversial imo
  21. Glad Fyvie is still out. It would have been a right gaff from us if he had managed to get himself fit again since the postponed game. He is so important to the way Cove play and I'm a lot more confident now he won't be available. Megginson loved a goal against us the last time Cove were down here so if he is missing as well that is another bonus. Given the run of results we have put together, a draw wouldn't be a disaster in this one but a win would start to put real pressure on Hamilton. Hopefully the greasy smelly fat tramp gets #wads of abuse tonight regardless
  22. Mental for Bartley to criticise Gibson there when Miller has been gliding by men for fun all season and Queens' passive approach allowed us to fire cross after cross after cross in to their box. One was always going to fall our way eventually. Incredibly naive
  23. I will simply never understand time-wasting and playing for 0-0. It's a shitebag attitude and as soon as you lose a goal that's you hooped as the whole momentum of the match is against you. Queens played exactly the same way the last time at TFS and it didn't work then either. You've got to question why Bartley is setting his team up so negatively Fair play to Efe Ambrose for heading away around 400 Falkirk crosses Nesbitt easily my MotM today even without his goal, he was absolutely everywhere and I lost count of the number of times we won the ball back in the middle of the park. Good to see McKay being the one dumped off the bench to accommodate Shanley Thought we were quite wasteful in the final third today, no idea how Miller managed to hit the keeper with the goal gaping McClelland providing a real comedy moment near the end as well, GIRUY With the Hamilton game off, now a huge chance to open up an 11 point gap on Tuesday
