  1. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if they give Greig McDonald the job as it is the cheap option. The current direction the board are taking the club has to be questioned we are in free fall. Any fan who witnessed that yesterday must have very grave concerns regarding our long term league status. We only have Kieran Miller and Connor McManus out who have any real experience at this level. There was a gap of 30 yards between a lone striker and his nearest midfield player for long spells in that game yesterday, if that’s an attacking line up god help us if we get negative. The opposition in the last 2 games have been decent for this level with a batch of seasoned professionals and I’m sure Stennie and Stirling Albion will be in the top 4 but they certainly highlighted our weaknesses.
  2. You have hit the nail on the head the recruitment has been nothing short of criminal over the last 2 years. I’d go as far as to say another disaster in January and we are doomed. I’m surprised how many fans are still turning up as the product on display for £ 18 is day light robbery. We are miles of it and you would struggle to see what any new coach could do with the tools he’s going to have at his disposal.
  3. Stirling Albion well deserved winners probably easiest game they’ll have all season. We were dreadful and didn’t deserve anything from the game. Whoever takes the hot seat has one mighty job on their hands. Crawford has bailed out and left a squad that are being physically out muscled every game. I’d be surprised on that showing if there is a team worse than us in the league. Problem is we’re stuck with what we’ve got till January and we will most likely be in a dog fight for league survival. Pretty bad night to be an East Fife fan as that today was an all time low.
  4. I might have to eat humble pie but I’d be surprised if the board went for Scott Agnew. I’m not sure that the board were happy with the way he parted ways . Think he would be popular with most fans has lots of lower league experience. Just have to wait and see .
  5. Couldn’t agree more this will be one of the most important decisions in the clubs history. The trap door awaits if the board get this wrong. To be fair the board have done reasonably well picking managers in the past. Surely they will invite applications and interview candidates of interest. I would take Gary Naysmith back in a heartbeat with King Kev his assistant. That’s maybe heart ruling head but seriously interview and here what people have to offer. Surely be money available as Dundee Utd will be due us compensation. We can’t just take the cheap option as there is too much at risk.
  6. Looks like Stevie Crawford will be offered assistant managers post at Dundee Utd. Liam Fox set to be named manager and Dundee courier reporting Crawford is the man he wants as assistant. I’m not sure many East Fife fans will be to fussed as things have been a bit underwhelming under his tenure.
  7. Always disappointed to throw away a two goal lead but Annan have taking bigger scalps than East Fife at home recently. Our away form has been good with 2 wins and 2 draws. 3 of these 4 away games have been long distance to Elgin, Stranraer and Annan. Our home form hasn’t been great with 2 defeats from 3 games. Hopefully we can change that starting on Tuesday. As Darren Young used to say 15 points a quarter will see you in a play off place. I’m pretty sure with the massive squad turn around a play off place would be punching above our player recruitment. Look forward to hearing from the East Fife podcast to hear what these Stevie Crawford rumours are.
  8. Go on Stevie bring him home just exactly what we’re needing.
  9. A poor poor game of football spoiled by the wind. Credit Dumbarton they took the chance when it came along although I’m 95% certain it’s offside. Linesman way behind the play when ball played in. Closest we came was when we hit the bar. Referee was weak let Brett long take an age with every by kick and the more he got away with it the longer he took. Thought Healy and Walls brought a bit of pace to the game when they came on and it coincides with our best spell in the game. Glad Ryan Wallace not in our dressing room any more as the man is trouble with a capital T. No need for all that school boy nonsense at the end of a game .
  10. That is a blast from the past big Carlo was a decent centre back and I’m sure we signed him from a west Lothian junior team. Gavin Murray the then manager brought in a few decent players from that area.
  11. As the score line suggests not much between the teams. East Fife were the better team in the first half with no cutting edge, lots of corners and free kicks but nothing on the money. Forfar playing with wind advantage probably shaded possession and chances in the 2nd half but lacked a cutting edge as well. Think Forfar targeted a lack of pace in our full backs. Both Forfar wingers flattered but final ball never troubled our defence. I would have settled for the point but a very clumsy and rash challenge gave the ref a decision to make. Trouten opened up his East Fife account with a very cool penalty sending keeper the wrong way. Forfar have a lot of players that have played at higher level than league 2 and I’m sure they will be a match for every team in the league. We looked solid in the heart of defence, and Fleming did everything asked of him. Fair play to the young lads over the last two weeks really dug in for the clean sheet and took their chance when it came along. Wins breed confidence and the young lads are learning all the time.
  12. Credit where credits due decent come back and can you believe scoring 3 goals in a competitive game. What’s happened to Alan Trouten last few games no news of an injury. On holiday possibly.
  13. Can’t believe the bookies had Buckie priced at 6/1 .Looks like a good chance we could get back to local derbies against the Blue Brazil very soon.
  14. Stevie Crawford saying that the transfer market proving to be very difficult. He says everything has changed since covid saying you could normally get players to come to a higher level but now they are happy to play closer to home. It’s fair to say he won’t have a lot of money to tempt possible signing targets. Last season was the end of a group of players that had been at Bayview for a while. Always going to be hard doing a major rebuild in 6 weeks. Fans will just need to stay patient and hope Stevie is able to attract 3 or 4 new additions. No point signing players in panic signings, we seen that old chestnut last year. I still believe Craw is a decent coach and I’m sure we’ll be competitive come the end of July when the real stuff begins. I’m sure he’ll have a few loans in mind to bolster numbers think we’re all asking a bit much expecting everything ti be sorted in 7 or 8 weeks since the season finished. A major rebuild will take time bigger clubs than us struggling to get players through the door.
  15. Hearing your manager will be interviewed by the Kirkcaldy scum next week. It would appear Kevin Thomson wanting too many £s. Paying Goodie a grand a week must be stretching their budget.
  16. Your chairman in Spain on a golfing holiday so be surprised if any announcement this week.
  17. Well thank the lord we have been put out our misery and season 2021-22 is finally over. The losing mentality prevails right to the last kick of the ball. Given a 2 goal start and still fold like a pack of cards. Just like the first game last July against Arbroath snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. There won’t be many people got a harder job on their hands than Stevie Crawford has between 17 00 hours tonight and mid July. I really feel for all the good people around the club from the volunteers to the kit man in what has been an absolute shambles on the park. We can only put our trust in Crawford and hope he has an idea how to sort out the mess we find ourselves in. Can’t see Crawford wanting to retain many of the present squad and probably best for all concerned that there is mass clear out.
  18. Airdrie. 2. Peterhead 0 Alloa. 1. Montrose. 1 East Fife. 0. Cove. 2 Queens Park. 2. Falkirk. 1 Dumbarton 2 Clyde 1
  19. We are unbeaten against Peterhead in the previous 4 games this season surely Peterhead will beat the worst East Fife team in 25 years this time round. Be tight but our inability to find the net makes it very difficult to win games of football.
  20. Clyde 0. Airdrie. 2 Cove. 4. Dumbarton. 0 Falkirk. 1. Alloa. 1 Montrose. 2. Queens Park. 2 Peterhead. 2. East. Fife 0
  21. The last figure I heard that our never to be seen majority share holder was looking for was 500 grand. Now I don’t see many people in the Levenmouth area sitting with that in an overseas bank account. So likely we are stuck with what we have for the foreseeable. We have been a well run part time club under the current chairman for 7 or 8 years now but by their own admission it’s been getting harder to compete as players wage demands have increased. As you said we can only spend what is being brought in so we are way behind in terms of budget to teams who have board investment. Unless there is some way Rankine can be bought out I’m afraid it will be down to the good will of the board and supporters to keep the club afloat.
  22. There have been some pretty dire times supporting the Fife over more years than I care to remember but what has been allowed to go on in the last year is up there with the worst. Season 1996/97 last time we were in the 2nd tier lives long in the memory for how bad that was but the season gone by will even give that a run for it’s money. The summer recruitment was a disaster and there was no plan B in January. Agree majority of players need to go as the losing mentality that hangs around the club has to be broken. Crawford never stood a chance as he had to plough on with the majority of the squad that was put in place prior to his arrival. The lack of goals would drive any footballing enthusiasts away from the game. We had a decent team there for for 4 or 5 years but things have been in free fall since the first games back after COVID. Took 2 seasons to come up last time we got relegated I wouldn’t put money on that being improved on, but we can only hope that better days can return again. Hopefully the board learn lessons from our pre season planning last year and get a plan put in place that has things ready to go for mid July.
  23. Airdrie. 3. Dumbarton 1 Clyde. 0. Montrose. 2 Cove. 3. Alloa. 1 East Fife. 1. Falkirk. 1 Peterhead. 1. Queens Park. 2
  24. In all honesty I can’t ever remember so many injuries in a season as East Fife have had do you think when your at the bottom and not winning games players go on the injured list much easier. Biggest contribution probably playing and training on plastic. Why the hell we ever ripped up our grass pitch it was a fantastic surface. I know money bla bla but it’s a poor substitute for a food grass pitch. To the game both teams form pretty dire but with our inability to score a goal, and make our usual defensive calamity you think Falkirk will edge it one or two nil.
  25. How predictable a 92 minute penalty sums up our season must be a footballing record for a professional football team having so many nils.
