  1. A draw probably a fair outcome over the 90 minutes. East Fife goal the only real bit of quality We produced in 90 minutes. Nathan Austin did well to create the opening and he looked much fitter today. Forfar passed it about well in the middle of the park without any real cutting edge in the first half. The boy on loan from Dundee Utd McLeod was always showing for the ball and everything Forfar did well went through him. For me East Fifes biggest problem is the midfield Brogan Walls was poor and constantly gave the ball away we needed to sign a a midfield general before the window closed but we’ve missed that bus. If Austin gets back to his best he’ll need better service than he got today. 2nd half Forfar stopped playing through their midfield and went more route one but I honestly couldn’t see them scoring . Can’t be to harsh on Fleming he’s been by far our stand out player so far this season. But when you come for a corner you really have to make it. You can see how both teams in the lower half of the league as goals will be hard to come by.We looked shaky defensively in the first half but looked more solid after the break. Forfar looked decent at the back and caught East Fife offside on numerous occasions. Lastly the stand side linesman no point in him being there never assisted the ref once. Ref did ok did his best to keep his cards in his pocket which is unusual these days.

  4. Players and management deserve a bit of praise winning the last 2 home games when the heat was on after a poor run of results. Hopefully some confidence is returning and it certainly looked like it 2nd half today. Several players had decent performances today and in the end we won with a good bit to spare. First half was pretty even with Clyde probably carving out the better chances but found Fleming in good form again today. A great finish from Shepherd was the difference between the teams in the first half. However after the break we were dominant and played some decent football. Could have had one or two more but I’m sure most fans just happy with any kind of victory. Much better shape to the team with Shepherd playing as the lone striker, Healy gave the full back a roasting all game and I would have liked to see VAR check the penalty incident . Another tough game on the road next week for our first visit to Spartans.

  6. Greig McDonald was a top player for East Fife but as manager this is simply not working out. One goal from open play in 450 minutes of football is just about impossible but he’s managed it. Board have to act soon because if they are watching that utter rubbish every week then there is only one conclusion. Take my hat off to fans travelling the length of the country to watch his negative tactics. I don’t hold out much hope of the board acting any time soon but Bayview will be empty as no person in their right mind would part with £ 18 to watch what McDonald is serving up. We have no creativity at all and he signs a boy with lighting pace and sticks him on the bench when we need a goal threat. What was the point signing the boy. Nathan Austin looks miles off what’s needed yet he got a start today in front of the lad.

  8. That is every league game we have lost the first goal and with our scoring record you would take a point all day long. One goal in open play in 4 games tells you all you need to know. If the manager is happy with that squad we are in for one long season. We need a strong ball carrier who can win 2nd balls too many light weights in the middle of the park. I feared the worst today after what I’ve seen in previous games but shows how much McDonald has taken us backwards when you breathe a sigh of relief getting a point in Elgin. Like previous post can’t see where a win is coming from. With our record at Dumbarton can’t see it being next week.
  9. Elgin City. 1. East Fife. 0 Forfar. 0. Bonnyrigg 0 Peterhead. 2. Spartans. 1 Stenhousemuir. 1. Dumbarton. 2 Steanraer. 3. Clyde. 1.
  10. The worrying thing is we don’t look like scoring there is absolutely no width and we don’t look like getting in behind defences. We don’t have a ball carrier in midfield and the link from middle to front none existent. Tactics very negative even against 10 men we played a holding midfield player for 50 minutes before changing it. To sum it up we are totally misfiring and confidence looks low maybe just take a rub of the green to get things going but I’m not so sure. Not all managers fault as most of the players way off what’s needed only Alan Fleming can 100% say that he is on his game the rest need to up their game soon.
  11. Another very dissapointing afternoon for the home fans and that’s 2 home league games that are instantly forgettable. First up well played Stennie and a deserved win. We have big problems and the tactics are baffling. First time I’ve ever seen a team play 90 minutes of football and never win a 2nd ball but East Fife managed it. Midfield has no physicality and we are getting bullied in there. Then when we eventually carve srennie open Austin puts it over the bar from a yard out. Must have been harder to do that than hit the target. Both goalkeepers were impressive and both made a few great stops. Tells its own story when your keeper man of the match. Tactics who knows 3 centre backs to mark one striker and kept pumping high balls that were bread and butter to 2 giant centre backs. When we got down the flanks Stennie looked vulnerable but all too often it was route one garbage. A lot of work to do and next week away to Elgin now looks a big game this early in the season. Midfield totally unbalanced and McManus and Trouten are passengers at the moment I’m afraid. The manager will need to try something different in there as Peterhead and Stennie have bossed that area of the park. Have to disagree with the point about the ref I thought he was good and was fair to book the Stennie players for time wasting.
  12. Bonnyrigg 2. Stranraer. 2 Clyde. 0. Peterhead. 0 Dumbarton. 2. Forfar. 1 East Fife. 3 Stenhousemuir. 2 Spartans. 2. Elgin. 2.

  14. My take from that Peterhead outclassed us in every department. Hard to say if we are that bad or Peterhead we’re that good probably a bit of both. How any manager could watch that first 45 minutes and not change anything is totally baffling. Full marks to Peterhead very hard working and fully deserved victory. Got the rub with the first goal as everyone in the stadium seen it was a foul in the lead up to the goal with the exception of the referee. 3rd goal was some finish as good as you’ll see all season. That was a reality check if ever there was one need a big reaction next week.

  17. Think the bookies were rather generous pricing Annan at 11 to 5 to win by more than a goal think a few lower league fans would have seen the value in that. Pretty poor refereeing decision to set them on the way .
  18. Surely you would think rules would be the same for all the play offs only in Scotland could they come up with this our game is a laughing stock. Good luck to Clyde in the final all a good experience for our young lads and hopefully they learned a lot from this season.. A couple of additions to the squad and next season could be decent.
  19. Can’t fault the players for effort but I just felt our young lads were out muscled by Clyde much bigger team and physically they were much stronger. We had a couple of decent half chances but on the whole we didn’t really look like breaking down the Clyde defensive wall. Think our ploy was to get round the side of them and our two wide players had the beating of the full backs. The goal we lost was a shocker but Clydes tactic of punt over the top exposed our centre backs all game. A long way back now but stranger things have happened in football. From what I’ve seen of Annan this season I’m not sure any of these 2 teams would trouble them.
  20. That pitch is really something else for a professional football club. Hang in tight lads I’m sure a bumper crop of jersey royals will be with you some time very soon.
  21. Pretty dissapointing not to get anything from the game after putting so much into it. Just when I thought Annan had run out of ideas the sucker punch hit. First half was pretty forgettable but you would say Annan bossed much of the play without any cutting edge. East Fife worked hard to deny any space and the tactics made sure we got in at half time all square. 2nd half continued in the same theme until we brought on Healy and Schivonnie in a more attacking sense. Healy had the beating of Willie Gibson time and again but couldn’t deliver a killer pass. The referee was card happy and booked about 10 players on my last count. Think we struggled against a much bigger and physical opponent and Annan looked a decent team. Can’t fault the players for effort and I’m sure they’ll be back for more next week. All not lost and there will be twist and turns in the run in to the finish.
  22. A good all round team performance every player worked their socks off for the 3 points. Elgin made it tough they never gave us much room and they were never out the game until we got the 2nd goal. Was impressed with Sam Denham at the back looks a good prospect as this is only his first full season at this level. A great header from a corner for the opener by Steel. Elgin started the 2nd half well and upped the tempo and created a couple of half chances but our back line was excellent. Penalty was a daft challenge by Mchardy as Shephard wasn’t going anywhere he just came through the back of him. Trouten calm as you like sends the keeper the wrong way. Friday night football proved popular with the fans as the biggest crowd at Bayview for a while. Fair play to Greig McDonald he has really turned things around he certainly has got the boys fighting for each other. Another tough fixture next week with Annan visiting Methil . A big deal in the run in for 3rd and 4th place.
  23. Thats just the 3 times shite has beat you wish we could play you every week
  24. Here Here those lads deserve the utmost respect they have done a brilliant job since taking over the commercial side of things at Bayview.
