  1. Would appear you’ve not been setting it on fire for a few weeks now with only one point from a possible 15. Every team will have poor runs once you get on a losing run the confidence goes a bit. A lot of twist and turns yet 24 games to go and a big transfer window in January.
  2. Ross Davidson Arron Dunsmore and Stewart Murdoch all returned to jogging last week so shouldn’t be long before they are back to full fitness. Think Davidson has had a broken foot.
  3. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones springs to mind
  4. Was easy to see how Dumbarton have only picked up one point from the last 15 available.Thought East Fife we’re well worth the win without getting into top gear. Wallace and Connoll always looked like they could create a goal threat when they got on the ball. Both teams can point to injuries and suspensions. Dunsmore, Murdoch ,Swanson, and Davidson still to come back in from injury for East Fife. The league table now settling down to how I thought with the bottom four playing in a mini league to avoid the bottom 2 places. Clyde and Dumbarton on a poor run just now with East Fife and Peterhead picking up points. Only a third of the season played and that was a big win today just to stay in touch with the teams above us. If we can get those 4 players back fit I’m sure their experience will be a big help in a relegation battle.

  6. Looking at Darren Youngs post match interview after Saturday there doesn’t appear much anger or hurt after being hammered 4 1. Blaming everything apart from himself. Now you can’t buy a winning mentality but if you show as little anger and emotion after a comprehensive pumping then we really are in trouble. I was still hurting like he’ll come Monday we as fans can only hope the management and players feel as shite after another piss poor performance on the road.
  7. Well after daring to dream that we had turned a corner after last weeks victory our normal away day embarrassment continues. As has been said before it’s the manner of the defeats. If we lose a goal the arse falls right out the team the boys that did so well last week got the jerseys again today but it’s one foot forward two back. Same as the last time we had a decent home win we shipped 5 at Dumbarton so any momentum you get goes right out the window when you get comprehensively slaughtered. After that shambles at Dumbarton took us another 6 games to win a game of football, hopefully it doesn’t take so long this time. I’m not paid to come up with solutions for our away day woe but the manager is. If you keep doing the same things nothings going to change. How can we keep losing 4 and 5 goals every away day. Surely there has to be some kind of learning process and adjustments made I’m struggling to see any progression being made.

  9. Well that was a lot more comfortable than any East Fife fan would have believed. Got the impression Cove thought they just had to turn up for a victory and their players looked she’ll shocked after we scored the 3rd goal. What a difference having a goal threat and Wallace and Connoll struck up a good partnership. Some excellent finishes for our goals. Pleased for the players as they have given it their all the last few weeks without getting on the end of a positive result. Just typical league one football any team can beat any team if you don’t turn up on the day. We’re still 4 points adrift but hopefully that will bring some much needed confidence. Nice to enjoy the winning feeling on a Saturday night.

  11. I take it you’ve no had a wander around the metropolis of smeaton or the links for a while
  12. Darren took the opportunity to play fringe players and guys needing game time coming back from injury not sure why we didn’t play our strongest team. We did ok first half but never laced a glove on them second half. Not really fussed about Mickey Mouse cup , Cove game much more important next week resting Dunsmore, Smith, Connoll, Denholm and Semple. Still got Davidson, Murdoch and Swanson to come back in from injury still a good run out for the guys needing game time.
  13. Darren saying in the courier today that he worked flat out to get players in thinking he had all the deals sown up he was let down by the clubs involved. Stating that the clubs had failed in their signing targets so weren’t in a position to allow their players out on loan. Board must still be giving him their backing if he’s still trying to make signings. Every team will go on bad runs but we are getting further away from the pack each week. Time is fast running out for our safety and the managers future.
  14. Airdrie. 2. Clyde. 0 Alloa. 2. Cove 1 Falkirk. 2. East Fife. 0 Peterhead. 1. Dumbarton 2 Queens. Park. 2. Montrose. 1
  15. David Devine incoming on loan from Motherwell a tall commanding 20 year old central defender.
  16. Like most fans who love the club it’s hard to watch it all being flushed down a toilet pan. The only people who have the power to do anything are sitting on their hands. I’m sure Darrens a great guy and him and the board have a good relationship but if they are watching the same as us every week then you can’t allow this to continue. When Clyde scored their 2nd goal on Saturday Darren looked a broken man, he looked on as if to say I’ve tried everything what more can I do. The problem is when this losing culture sets in it’s such a hard habit to break. Most fans could take getting beat if your teams made a fight of it but the majority of games were not even at the races.
  17. Nothing against anyone on the East Fife board but the silence is absolutely mind blowing. Are they happy to accept abject failure of the highest order.I know they are fans like the rest of us but come out and tell us what they are seeing that doesn’t warrant a change. It’s is absolute madness to just allow the same things to carry on from week to week, surely something has to change. It is the manner of the defeats if we lose the first goal the game is over as a contest. The same defensive lapses week after week 3 games without a goal or barely a shot on goal. Surely something has to change if you just allow the same thing to go on week after week the end product and result will be the same. Surely the board must have discussed the shocking run of results and when change is needed. Let’s hope someone has the decency to give the supporters a bit of communication because the fans have a lot of questions that need answered.
  18. When you see the goals back both piss poor again no one closes the guy down for the shot and second goal the u12s boys brigade would be skated for that defending. I know we’re fragile and confidence is low but you’ll not win many games of football giving away goals as easily as that.
  19. Well that result didn’t paper over the cracks and it’s a long road back into the pack. Would really like to hear some communication from the board on what they see as the problems causing the run of poor form and results. The fans turned up today and I never heard any negative shouts to the manager, the players can’t be faulted for effort but ultimately it’s a results driven business and the manager takes responsibility. Danny Swanson and Kyle Connol could bring the bit of quality needed but there isn’t any word on them coming back from injury. At least the manager took the decision to drop Dunlop and Gallagher today as their performances have been below the level expected. If the board continue to stand behind Darren let’s hear the reasons how they think he can turn around this sorry mess.
  20. Two very poor teams we had our chances and never took them and Clyde scored with probably their first shot on goal. No cutting edge at all and you can’t see where a goals coming from. Thought Aaron Steel had a good game and definitely improved our back line. How long can you wait on things turning round plenty of effort but ultimately no goals and no points. Good away support and a good hit for the first goal. Not much between the teams but Clydecshowed the killer instinct when the chance came along, and we fluffed our lines when our chances came along.
  21. Cove Rangers. 1. Airdrie. 2 Dumbarton. 1. Alloa. 2 EastFife. 3. Clyde. 2 Montrose. 1. Falkirk. 1 Queens Park. 3. Peterhead. 1
  22. Boy oh boy watching those highlights on Airdrie tv is eye watering stuff. All 3 Airdrie goals are all individual errors what’s more it’s mostly the same players from the week before. Ross Dunlop is having a terrible time of it but keeps being p***ked week after week. Aaron Steele came in at Peterhead and did great helping us keep a clean sheet then disappears back to the bench. Jude Smith did well at Peterhead then straight back to the bench. I don’t know what Liam Watt has done wrong but he is out of favour as well. Even the sending off was our own fault a 5 yard hospital pass putting Young Higgins under unnecessary pressure. I know it’s not the manager making those mistakes but he is keeping picking the same players that keep making the mistakes so he is accountable.
  23. One good thing there shouldn’t be any player's in that East Fife team for Airdrie to poach for next season.
  24. The results are indefensible that is 16 goals conceded in 4 away games with only 3 scored. That’s an average of 4 goals conceded per game on the road. Now by anyone’s standards that is truly a shocking statistic. Either the shapes wrong or the players don’t understand what he’s coaching but for sure the buck stops right at Darrens door. How the committee can sit in away stands week after week watching that is beyond me. It is beyond embarrassing we aren’t even competing , Something has to change very quickly the excuses and blame game stop at the managers door . I said last week it’s unlikely the board will do the right thing but how long can they allow this car crash to go on. Back to a must win game next week at home to Clyde .
  25. I wasn’t panicking a few weeks ago when we were bottom, however after last weeks shocker I’m hoping we can’t sink any lower. However our performances on the road do not fill me with much confidence. Hope you go easy on us as I don’t want that sinking feeling I had last Saturday night.
