..can share now I'm not on the work network, and this one was fairly straightforward. I've always visualized this country as a duck ...0 -
Six in the cup. Started strongly then fell to pieces.

It's just an analysis of the situation. What are Zelensky's options?Β
1) Unconditional surrender
2) Negotiate
3) Fight to the last man
What does (3) actually achieve? Serious question.
Serious answer - it depends whether that last man is Ukrainian, or the last Russian with the appetite for a fight.

Mrs Maisel's back! Not my usual cuppa tea, but just an easy watch with some good laughs along the way. One of those happy overlap shows that Mrs WRK and I can watch together.

Boom! Got it first time, for the first time.

Big ol' ten for Friday - pretty comfortable other than some doubt on the star. The up in the sky one, not the Western one.

Whether to call him Boris or Johnson?
Good to see you with your finger on the very essence of what is important in the world right now.Β

...yet I'm not throwing out lazy wee ad hominem snipes, or lacing my posts with "amusing" emojis. Maybe because I don't give much of a fΓΊck what the cool kids think of me. Off you fΓΊck, fool.

We hear "Nicola" a hell of a lot though.True, but I'd argue (from south of the border) that we hear "Sturgeon", "Nippy", and "Krankie", amongst others, much more often.

Not sure you should joke about that.Β Years ago some French guy did just that and it didn't end well.Β Then some German (maybe Austrian?) guy did the same and came unstuck as well.
Just thought I should warn you.
No-one ever seems to learn from Afghanistan's home record - why should Russia be any different?

How many times? His name is Johnson. "Boris" is a character created for popular consumption, reminiscent of Waldo in Black Mirror. He doesn't even use the name himself in his private life, only when he's performing.
Rarely do we hear other leaders referred to as Ed, Keir, Caroline, Olaf, Joe, etc., so why the familiar style for this horrible, narcissistic, sociopathic cΓΊnt?
PTTGOMN? absolutely.

Iβve had a look on the Politics forum, and now Iβm inclined to support option two.Β
Have a swatch at the Covid thread, and you'll be praying for it.

Four stabs at today's - could have been a dozen, but got lucky.

Nine for Thursday - guessed the quark, didn't guess Mad Max.
SCQ - stormed the first seven for a total of seven.

Can't share from work PC, but (unusually) can play this. Took two goes yesterday, three today.

10 for Wednesday. Fell nicely for me today. Never seen the dish spelt that way but having had it before I guessed maybe it was an alternative spelling of the dish I'd had.
Nine for me - that last one was a bit fishy. I narrowed it down to a 50-50, then called it wrong.

Thing is, there is a hard core of people who believe that this is the case now who will have all summer to spread their propaganda. "A plane crash every week" is how they're describing the currant death figures.Β
Our only hope (jeez, can't believe I'm about to type this) is that Johnson and the Tories keep the tap switched off to prevent the money being splurged all over the place come the winter.Β Β
No doubt they'll be raisin this statistic at every opportunity..
(Mods: please note I resisted the opportunity to link this to falling attendance at a certain large venue in Glasgow)

A lovely big TEN for Tuesday - no major worries for me today, although I wouldn't have put money on the Toy Story one.

Nine Monday. Modulo was found behind a dusty old cabinet in the memory block, and Dick was worked out by his successor. Not happy with the cricket one, not least because I got it wrong.

Theroux continues his unbroken streak of finding the most deluded, vile creatures to build a themed program around - although these slugs promote themselves so widely it's hard to believe a full-time researcher was needed in this case. At least people who don't frequent the online areas these types inhabit may realise that there is some horrible stuff going on, and a lot of it is bleeding into real life.
The girl - she "can see the humour" in threats of anal rape? What the fΓΊck?

I'll just add to the Reacher love-in here - perfectly competent season one has to pave the way for more. I did think that it took too long to wrap up - by which I mean the strory was done and dusted well before the end of the last episode, leaving a lot of filler.
Had just the right levels of violence, twists, and humour. Even an appropriate (imho) level of nudity. Looking forward to more.

Another nine, second-guessed myself on the last question.

What Eagles autobiographies have you read? This could interest me...
Heaven and Hell by Don Felder is the only one actually credited to a band member, but tells a very different story to "To The Limit" and "Glenn- Essence of Cool", where Henley and Frey respectively (and together) apparently had a fair bit of editorial influence.Β

Currently at work, so can't do YT links, but..
SLF - Alternative Ulster. Killer intro, never lets up.
Wah! - The Story of the Blues. Just an all time feel good pop song.
The Teardrop Explodes - Reward. Cope before he went batshit crazy.
Neil Young - Harvest Moon. I've always heard this as the singer of "Old Man" singing as an Old Man.
The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet. From those glory days when every bunch of hopefuls had one great song in them. And this is one great song.
The Who - Behind Blue Eyes. One of the best tracks on one of my favourite albums - a cry from the heart by the Lifehouse villain.
David Bowie - Rock and Roll Suicide. "Time takes a cigarette" - just a genius closer on another of my top albums.
Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil (if played over video from Altamont)
Chris de Burgh - The Tower. Top "story" song from the Monobrowed one. Excellent "la laΒ la la la"
Greg Lake - I Believe in Father Christmas.
