  1. Nobody's going to argue with you to dispute that.
  2. It doesn't but if their age means they don't fit into how Sheerin would like his strikers to play then that's where the issue arises. Sheerin wants us to play a high press which starts from the front, very rare to see an older striker buzzing about the park harrying the defence. That being said I absolutely wouldn't mind an experienced striker on the bench to add something different in games we're struggling to break teams down.
  3. Ruth's contract with Aberdeen looks to expire next summer so it's a big year for him.
  4. Look at him attacking the front post Absolutely hate it when teams only allow subscribers to watch their videos.
  5. We've signed Michael Ruth on loan from Aberdeen for the season.
  6. Extremely ironic given you've been posting for the last few days that this league 'isn't the championship' and calling it the 'seaside league' make your mind up. You wanted Duku or Ugwu as they scored 5 goals each in the championship so they'd score for fun in this league. 'Any full time striker should be scoring at least 15 in this league'
  7. Never mind that just tell Sammy Mcgivern to put his boots back on he scored plenty back in the day.
  8. We've signed 15 players this summer with just one of them being a loan deal in Krasniqi I don't think we can say the BOD haven't provided funds for signings. Ugwu got 5 goals in total for a Raith team who really weren't short on goals last season so I don't think he was a prime candidate for our 15 goal a season striker. Duku got 10 in total but again only 5 in the league. Either obviously would have been better options than Jaime Wilson but not the main striker we've been seeking.
  9. Who would you have signed if it's that easy? Ompreon I'm undecided on yet as he hasn't really had that much game time and I never bothered watching yesterday's game. Wilson I think we can all agree is absolutely rotten and that's on Sheerin for not identifying that after his trial. We're far more likely to get a better calibre of striker now that the premiership teams have topped up their squads as Rocco has been mentioning. If you look back on the last few seasons our stand out strikers were Rudden & Mcmanus who both came in on loan late in the day from premiership clubs. I'd imagine we were in for Ollie Shaw but we're not really in any position to compete with Kilmarnock as like it or not they are a much more attractive prospect than us.
  10. I could see your point if there were strikers teams in this division had just signed over the summer that we should have been signing but none of them have. Blair Lyons/Kyle Connell are maybe exceptions but again they aren't exactly guaranteed to score you 15 goals this season. We're at the bottom of the barrel in terms of full time clubs so we're not exactly an attractive proposition so we'll have been losing out on players left right and centre. A goalscorer is the hardest position on the park to recruit as everyone's looking for one and normally when someone has them they don't let them go easily.
  11. He's not exactly got a tough shift up against Blair Alston has he?
  12. Michael Ruth on the bench for the Aberdeen B team today. Interesting one that. I fully expect us to get scudded today especially if he's persisting with the 4-2-3-1 with those personnel.
  13. Very difficult to distinguish which youngsters are 'ready' and which ones aren't. You take the gamble based on their ability and they either sink or float. We as a club however have been rotten at using the loan market effectively over the last few years.
  14. I think we need another winger but not a number ten as we have Nesbitt and to be honest I'd rather see Telfer deployed there before anyone else.
  15. From what i've seen of him he plays out wide or in the 10 role. Not really the out and out striker that we're hoping to source.
  16. He was on open goal the other day saying he wanted to stay at County and even had players lined up to sign but Macgregor told him they were going with something different hence why he was let go.
  17. I'd also imagine Gullan/Ruth are on a fair bit less than what Reilly takes home each week. Jakubiak seems to be well out of favour at Dundee especially after they've just signed Griffiths but he'll most likely have better suitors than us. Gullan is interesting as again he's completely out the picture at Hibs and from what I remember of him at Raith he can play as either a winger or the number nine but again there'll be a fair few teams in for him. Hamilton's not an option he seems to be very much in the first team picture at livingston just now so that ships sailed. Ruth would be a bit meh compared to the others mentioned but it wouldn't be surprising given our position. Push the boat out and give Dundee whatever they want for the Jak. Bring him home. Don't fancy Innes Cameron there's a reason Killie have decided to pursue other options instead of him lately.
  18. The fact that anyone we have as a target will most likely also be a target of numerous championship clubs so we'll have to compete for the signing. There'll be a fair few players who are available now the premiership teams have done their last bits of business so hopefully we end up with a few decent additions. Obviously the sooner we get them in the better but the Killie game is essentially a free hit so they can wait until after that. A striker and a left winger would be nice as Mcguffie's going to blow hot and cold all season.
  19. Plenty of premiership teams bringing in players today so hopefully that free's up a few players for us to loan. A striker and another winger would be nice if Weekes is going out on loan.
  20. When do you ever see a centre back brought on when you are winning a game? If he goes out on loan he'll be playing week in week out which will benefit him more than sitting watching games go by on our bench. Put a recall option in the loans and if Mccann or Dixon do get injured then they are brought straight back.
