  1. Being unseeded suits us. Still, given our cup record I'm taking nothing for granted.
  2. Given the choice I'd rather finish above Hamilton tbh.
  3. Brechin game priced at £12 adults; £6 concessions.
  4. Boys, the dream of being papped out in the last 16 of the nation's secondary cup competition at Parkhead is still on! #believe #itscominghome
  5. nothing confirmed. apart from location for him we would Shirley be a better option? I don't know mate- he'd feel right at home at St. Mirren.
  6. Even a ST for Dundee HSFP* is knocking on for half of what a ST costs at Dens. *not that I was considering one you understand.
  7. That's pretty much my thinking. He's already said that he finds it difficult to socialise and stay out of trouble and that was evident at the Underground. Being in the (relative) spotlight magnifies that issue but there is a solution that mitigates most of the chance of reoccurrence - don't go out drinking in public. Up to now, based on what has been reported, I agree with the club's handling of the situation.
  8. I'd be a little uneasy to DFC binning a guy who admits to having mental health issues. A line needs to be drawn, however, where the club have to say they've done all they can and perhaps more specialist help should be sought. Only the player and club know where that line is and I reckon we are pretty close to it. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. My old man knew him from his youth - but I couldn't tell you much more than that. Did he not have an interest in the Carnoustie Golf Course Hotel?* I remember him saying that if he did buy the club, that the fans not to look upon him as a saviour and that a lot of work would still need to be done to get the club back on an even keel. *Edit: it literally says that in the opening paragraph of the article you linked to. Apologies!
  10. Jim Spence seems to rate him and reckons Gibson is no "Walter Mitty character". I wonder what these conditions were?
  11. Tele suggests that the American deal is no longer on the table while Twitter rumours are that the American people were a smokescreen to hide Gibson's identity.
  12. I hear you Dee Man, I hear you, but there is also the "do the opposite of what Levein does" school of thought to consider however.
  13. All his goals look so effortless. I particularly like the wee dink as he guides the ball into the net with his head for the first.
  14. Gillie's goals in the 5-1 win at Ibrox. Fog limited attendence to 38,000 when 80,000 were expected. Video is 9 mins long but Gillie's goals are circa 3:30; 5:15; 6:45; 8:20
  15. A poem to go with the above photo (courtesy of Alan Pattullo on Twitter):
  16. Fair play to the club for recognising our pre 1893 roots. I loved the Our Boys homage but think it's a swing and a miss this time. Also, I hope those historical kits are accurate!
  17. I'm beginning to wonder if it is based on that old East End strip. If so I like the fact they've paid homage to our roots and been bold. Just wide of the target this time unfortunately. How accurate are those historical designs anyway? The website doesn't link to newspaper reports where strips are described. Have we been given an awful strip based on someone's guess at what a team played in 130 years ago?!
  18. Knowing our luck that'll be the fucking top that our players will break a 109 year hoodoo and lift the Cup in. (Kit clash with Falkirk or someone)
  19. A few months ago James McPake tweeted a photo of his rather large tv in what can be described as a home cinema as he settled down to watch the Edinburgh derby. After the game some Sevco fan started slagging McPake as Hibs lost. A bemused McPake replied with a simple "?". The Sevconian said "you're a Hibs fan aren't you?" McPake responded along line the lines of that he was just tweeting himself looking forward to watching the derby and only supports the club he's currently contracted to - he is therefore a Dundee fan. Whilst there is nothing wrong with O'dea having his nose permanently lodged in the Celtic sphincter - we lap it up when former players sit in the Derry for example - I do think McPake's professionalism puts O'dea's to shame.
  20. "Ehhhh...Sorry to trouble you pal, but could you spare 30p for my bus fare?"
  21. TBF I was 9 when the Poll Tax was introduced in Scotland, but yes, those who protested and refused to pay are all right in my book.
  22. I thought he bore a slight resemblance to Charlie Adam myself...
  23. Unrelated but when did Lochee become part of Dundee? Perth resident in support of awful Tory policy shocker. Anyway, moving on - as one mystery man is revealed can anyone identify this new dude:
