  1. It makes a huge difference when the player in question a) has 2 or 3 years on his contract, and b) has publicly said he's happy to stay where he is. That doesn't happy very often, especially not to clubs in Scotland, and Motherwell would be crazy not to show short thrift to any club that hasn't offered them silly money for Johnson. It does make a refreshing change to see a player doing this (though does this mean he's on a decent wage at Fir Park?), and means just for a change one of our clubs can stop a lower league English club grabbing a player cheaply.
  2. More of these please, I enjoyed the Accies, Hearts and Aberdeen previews too. Have bookmarked your blog.
  3. Yes, you'll fit in here just fine. If you're going to reference that rag, please post at least some of the article to give us an idea of how rubbish it is and save us clicking on the link and giving them the idea that anyone is really interested in reading the pish they write. Thanks.
  4. That's Magennis in a nutshell. The BBC says the offer was "close to £100,000", and but for the fact his experience will be badly needed by Killie this season, I'd grab that offer. As it is, and if Magennis is not desperate to leave, you'd be as well keeping him unless they at least double the offer.
  5. Craigan is probably happy to combine his youth coaching & football punditry. He doesn't come across as the type of guy who will do anything without giving it lots of consideration. McFadden, well who knows, it seems like a bit of a gamble, but with McGhee to learn from it would work.
  6. But they beat them over two legs and went through. Hearts didn't manage to win in either of their two attempts against the Maltese mob and even went 2-0 down at home to them. Last season St Johnstone scraped into the top six, they were pretty average and only a run of four wins in their last five games pushed them up to their "solid fourth". That's a fair point. Hearts are still an utter embarrassment though. Even Hibs did a better job.
  7. He falls flat on his face while trying to kick the ball, some assist. Even I could do that. Probably.
  8. What'll be even more embarrassing for Scottish Football is if Hearts finish anywhere near a top three side this season. Aberdeen are likely to get knocked out in the next round, but that'll be up against a team who have a decent record in Europe in recent years - which is a lot more than can be said for any Scottish team. They got knocked out of Champions League qualifying early last year, but the previous year they got through the qualifiers (beating Celtic on the way) and drew with Sporting Lisbon, Schalke & Chelsea (though did get hammered 6-0 at Stamford Bridge) in the group stages. They got through the group stages of the Europa League in 2013/14 and were only knocked out 3-4 on aggregate by winners Sevilla. It'd be more of a shock if Aberdeen beat them.
  9. This is it in a nutshell. These kind of articles, then the pish from Doncaster..... its like some kind of disease. An endemic, parasitical disease that is slowly but surely sucking the life out of us all and destroying the very game that it lives off. Crazy.
  10. Is there any other sports website than the BBC that gives anything other than minimal coverage of Scottish football? They appear to be the best of a very bad bunch.
  11. Grey and pink at least go together as colours. Yellow and pink?
  12. Anyone used their online offering at £9.99 instead of via Sky?
  13. As most of the games are on the in the middle of the night our time, I think I'll be sticking with the Euro's. Its about time Argentina won it. Either them or Uruguay for me. Edit: Premier Sports have the rights in the UK.
  14. Just as there are guys who put on a uniform and become knobs when faced with a crowd of football fans, there are guys who turn up at football grounds and turn into knobs when they see someone in a uniform.
  15. I think a few people in this thread could do with having a quick read of the BBC article Five Hillsborough myths dispelled http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-35473732 That's quite often how these things happen. A catalogue of errors or oversights all combine to make tragic outcomes. When we get fire safety training at work they often use one of the care home fires (think it might be Rosepark in Uddingston about 10 or so years ago?). No proper fire evacuation plan, no fire drills, care home didn't have priority status with fire brigade, no individual evacuation plans, combustible material stored in a cupboard next to electrical board, no proper maintenance of electrical board, all further compounded by staff waiting ten minutes before phoning fire brigade because they had to check and see if it was an actual fire first, then the fire brigade went to the wrong entrance causing further delay,
  16. I'm gobsmacked by that. That's the kind of bollocks I'd expect a drunken half-wit Rangers fan to come out with in his local pub. Then I don't pay much attention to most old firm related news, so maybe this kind of warped view isn't new? Good old BBC, a few stories this week about how much everyone has missed Rangers (Doncaster) and how there's just nothing like an old firm derby (Dalglish & Souness), then giving top billing to this deluded old fool. Hurrah, Scottish football will soon be back to its old firm wankfest best. Aren't we all delighted.
  17. If he needed a cast on his arm, hope his dog is ok!
  18. They have all the goals in one video, and according to a twitter post, the individual match highlights should be up on a Monday morning. No sign of them yet though. SPFL ‏@spfl 13 hrs13 hours ago Hi @liam_barnett. A few changes to when we put stuff up. All the goals coming up at midnight & then match by match clips tomorrow morn.
  19. Strachan decries moral decay in football If you can't be bothered to read the whole thing: He states "We don't have any morals in football!"
