  1. Green is already quoted as saying he will make decisions that the fans won't like and that its a business. Does anyone know if it is possible to propose the CVA to creditors that includes a hypothetical figure based on the sale of the top players/earners to balance the deficit? Perhaps thats part of his offer to creditors, that each player has a minimum 'acceptable' value and if/when they are offered the money, they are bound by this offer to sell players to increase the pence in the pound to creditors. That could be a way for him to renegotiate with the players too, in effect changing the minimum release fee clause in their contracts? If the £8.5 million is used as a base calculator, then the amount of pence in the pound will only go up when they sell, by enough or by how much would then be one of our famous 'unknowns'. Hoping someone will post to tell me this is not possible because of some legal reason to put my mind at ease. Last thing I want is to see this lot wriggle free in any way, shape or form.
  2. I could probably come up with something, but I'll refrain this time, just for you.
  3. Yeah as in - the fans kneed to know who these people are (and where they work and live so they can exert hate and bile and threats of vengeful retribution) Fat Sally knew, the worst bit is - he knew what he was doing and why - a simple moral choice that he knew was wrong. And he's unapologetic. He's a twat.
  4. It's also wrong. If you've been knocked back, it doesn't mean you had the choice, it means 'no thanks'. You can't 'claim' to pull out when you've been told GTF
  5. Alex Thomo is definitely putting in the work. Bet every time he phones UEFA to ask about Rangers, he finishes every call in the same whispered voice.... 'remember Manchester' So any Rangers fans who think UEFA are against them. Guess what? You're bang on the money. That's human nature. You lot ruined one of their showpiece nights a few years back. I doubt UEFA were impressed with the TV revenue you lot can generate that night......at least when we lost a final, we stood and applauded both teams off the park and UEFA bought us a stand for it. Doesn't matter who are you, from the secretary to the top of the tree, you remember that night in Manchester and you remember Rangers. And as such, the SFA cannot be seen to be any more lenient in UEFA's eyes or risk the consequences. I think the appeal panel members will be made fully aware of that. Also with the document out in the open, it drops Sally right in it. A full and grovelling apology is required or possibly even the truthful explanation of his actions would be required to reinstate any sympathy I had towards McCoist. From the top to the bottom, Chairmen, Manager, Fans. With very few exceptions......good riddance.
  6. Ah, but which one would get the penalty, being as none of them actually would have a home anymore......
  7. As Record Sport revealed yesterday, former Rangers boss Walter Smith has been approached about fronting up another of those anonymous parties. But Smith will only be asked to help rush through a proposal if all the rest fall by the wayside which is exactly where Singaporean Bill Ng appeared to be heading at close of play yesterday after falling short for a second time. The Blue Knights, though, are hopeful of bringing Ibrox legend Graeme Souness on board. While Souness has made it clear he is not part of any consortium, he has been in constant contact with Kennedy and could join the new regime. If that happens, Smith might be persuaded to join him at boardroom level – to renew the partnership with Souness that began in 1986. Ah.....now I get it. Keef putting the 'moron' into oxymoron.....oh yes he is, oh no he isn't, oh yes he is, oh....bang!
  8. I wonder if Gordon will prepare the succulent f**cking lamb and f**king ice cream and jelly
  9. While we're sitting around waiting on Rangers to eventually fizzle out, how about a game of Fantasy Journalism. It's unrealistic to get a team of 11 on the pitch but maybe a 7 a side league? We could keep this going until we find out the end game and all stories are reported. The league can be backdated to February and the winner is the one who finishes with the biggest points deduction. Obviously we'd need to write up an agreed schedule for the articles of association and no 'big name' journalist could ever find themselves in danger of expulsion. I suggest -3 points for a completely fictional exclusive, -2 points for running the same story as another rag, -1 for appearing to break ranks and a whopping -25 for a bare faced lie. If you fancy this nice little game that we can then send in the results to Stuart and Tam at the end of the Rangers, please let me know and I'll get cracking on the spreadsheet Points are awarded on a week to week basis and will be agreed unanimously by a secret 3 man P&B committee.
  10. In view of the fact that Motherwell have priced the upcoming match against United at a fiver a few thoughts crossed my mind. 1: What a nice gesture as a reward to the fans in a highly successful season for both sets of supporters. 2: With the match being on telly and an early kick off, it'll be interesting to see the attendance in light of this approach 3: If the attendance is good, its a nice GIRUY to the debate on OF attendance/revenue if the price is right/cheap/sensible 4: Wouldn't it be glorious if this is a test case that the 'rebel 10' had dreamed up behind closed doors to assess the options ahead of the next big meeting? If only all the other clubs could do something similar. A co-ordinated effort across all games in all leagues would be an easy way for chairmen to offer fans a constructive opportunity to stand together across the country and show just how much we love our clubs and how little we need the OF away support. Ok, maybe a fiver is going a bit too cheap. Lets say £10 for all other games in the SPL and a pro rata discount in the other leagues. If this was co-ordinated or planned in advance we could provide our clubs with some real answers and send a message to the SPL giving the clubs up to date figures that they can base projections on. The clubs by making this collective gesture would in effect be asking for a 'show of fans'. Drop the prices, take the attendance, do the sums and hey presto - a realistic attendance based on a fair product price - something all member clubs are willing to do in a fair and competitive league. No newco cheats or TV deal factored in. The TV deal, if any, can be discussed later. Of course there would be cloth cutting required, but its far more appealing than the alternative. I am willing to see United have to change their approach in order for the greater good to survive even if it means we might lose some good talent in the process. If the clubs announced this for all weekend fixtures as a means of assessing supporter feeling in a tangible way, its a constructive positive way for clubs and supporters to get behind something that will get noticed before the opportunity is missed and the SPL votes are based on speculation and conjecture. A peaceful non threatening way to stand together and make our case to the media, the football authorities and the non believers. A real chance to challenge the commercial value scaremongering tactics that are being used to cloud the whole debate on sporting integrity and financial fair play. And all done in seemingly meaningless end of season fixtures with nothing at stake. Except the future of Scottish football. Has to come from the clubs as a statement together for it to work and it needs to be done so that fans know why and for what purpose. "if you build it, they will come" - 'Field of Dreams' You may say I'm a dreamer......but I'm not the only one. Right?
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-17999964 apologies if this is a repost, decent article though....
  12. "Even after Bill announced his austerity measures last week there were people within the club asking how much money was available to be spent. It would take a fairly large amount of money to keep it from dying." That's my favourite bit - the fans telling him to GTF and Sally or someone asking how much they could spend - even the yanks are acting with incredulity at the obvious denial from within
  13. Question that relates to the older generation on here as I can't answer this..... Before football went commercial, did you consider the team you followed to be 'your' team, because you del the money you paid, paid for the entertainment you got? And when did you think you noticed that change? And who was responsible for it? Like to hear your views on that. Cheers! After the past few days, seems to me the rhetoric from all chairmen is that they all think they have to look after 'their' clubs. But they apparently understand the views of fans. Really?? For 'clarity' I'm not sticking up for our current chairman on this, he's in the position he is because of his fathers undoubted passion for the club, his is by association and family ties, but first and foremost Thomson Jr, my understanding of him is, he's a businessman first and United fan second. Anyone that knows different, please feel free to correct me. Eddie pursued that chairmans seat with passion for a long long time before he got it. How many other SPL chairmen, past or present, did the same? Must be more than that? We all understand the commercial nature of football these days, but surely we all just feel it in our hearts as 'our club' right?. I don't ever recall thinking I was going along to see 'insert chairmans name' United. Chairmen come and go, no more or less important than any decent player or manager. Until they stand up and prove themselves exceptional. We can all name legendary players and managers. Wouldn't it be nice if this time, we could all begin to name legendary chairmen.....do they really understand? That feeling, the one you get when you put on the replica shirt/scarf/slippers (ok, maybe just me there....) the one you get at 3pm on a Saturday? We, the real fans, can all understand that all too well
  14. Ah, now I get it. Doncaster just saying it 'us' that don't understand the processes...... Surely, based on that interview, the crux of the matter is then - If the clubs require the utmost clarity on the situation, no decision can be made ever until the EBT investigation is complete. Without that information, how can you assess how much they cheated and what the appropriate punishment for that is? That's just the the football angle on clarity? Anyone??
  15. No, I'm highlighting the different scenarios that each side can refer to as 'precedence', something I'm sure any legal representation would also.....too many options on both sides if we drill down to the nitty gritty, be that financial or football. This has to be treated as a 'special case' remember... I've made my personal position pretty clear in my previous posts. Rangers cheated and should be punished not only by association rules, but by the laws of the land, how that plays out when they intertwine? Thats what the whole saga is faltering on. And that's not even taking into account the moral/commercial aspects ongoing. All I'm saying is 'if' there were legal challenges to any decision be that SFA/SPL, for whatever reason, each side can cite precedence in some respect, however tenuous the link. Happy to accept any other point of view, thats why we're here surely?
  16. You mean they HAD to provide a stadium? Like ICT HAD to groundshare? Hmmm.......who provided groundshare opportunity? I can't remember....
  17. Ok, maybe my old memory is failing much like your sense of humour, please enlighten me.....why exactly did Aberdeen remain at the end of the season still in the league? Was it because there was a last minute vote that included a degree of self interest on league reconstruction, or am I making it all up? I really can't remember, so over to you to set me right......
  18. Weren't Aberdeen saved (for the reason you mention - detrimental to the income in the north east) at the expense of Falkirk, again another total disgrace on our game. The league was reconstructed or something like that? To be fair, United were rubbish for two seasons and deserved to go down even though we did stop a historic double treble back to back for the bears, a piece of history I will be sad may disappear soon if all cheating charges are upheld and titles stripped
  19. Won't it be ironic when the Rangers and west coast media sycophants display mock outrage and side with the fans. The media. 'circus' will do a u turn faster than duff and phelps to suddenly start reporting the opposition, after the vote goes through of course. Or am I dreaming. Again.
