  1. Surely though the 'goodwill' element of any name transfer involving the word 'Rangers' in the future IS covered in some way, as that is effectively an intangible asset just like intellectual property is? It's a branding thing which is what they are hoping to retain for commercial value. EDIT: point above just confirmed by bloke on Sportsound
  2. If Paul Clark for D&P is saying that Rangers have received 'assurances that they will remain in the league' and this is why Millers bid is now unconditional, then surely someone has to get Doncaster out in public right now to explain why, or better yet, get both of them on at the same time, just three days AFTER Donkey saying they couldn't give any such assurances on sanctions, and 3 days BEFORE the official vote takes place on Monday. I smell shite...... This is beginning to piss me off now, it's losing the hilarity factor completely
  3. How about this. That Miller wanted a look at the books to decide IF this was worth the effort to save as some posters have pointed out already. His long game could be pinned on the hope that a Euro League comprising the top clubs in each country is on the cards sometime in the not too distant future. That would substantially increase revenue. If they can get in a position that within 3 years, the end of any Euro ban, it completes stage one. The EPL have already said no, but the formation of a Euro League system would effectively be a way around that in the future, new league, rules, etc etc. If he can muddle them through this in any possible way, its unlikely the a Euro league would knock on the doors of United, St. Mirren and all the other teams in the league first - being honest we all know the perception of teams in Scottish Football from England, never mind further afield. This also offers a reason as to UEFA/FIFA involvement in the mess, or the lack of so far. In that respect, if he gets away with it, we may not see Millers full plan come to fruition for a good few years yet. Remember Fergus McCann people, brink of bankruptcy to where Celtic are now. Without wishing to be TOO alarmist, the bottom line is this is now a risk versus reward decision for Miller as a business proposition, nothing more. It's not as if he's be claiming to be a Rangers fan since he was a boy and that he can't stand to see his club perish. He may yet decide can't afford to run that risk, even with his wealth as it stands, so in effect all he's risking to assess that option is £500k. He probably takes more than that in bonus, as his salary is comparatively low compared to the turnover. That's how I'd be looking at it if I was an American truck tycoon, purely for the long game business opportunity. If the risk outweighs the rewards, I could afford to throw away my bonus money to get first option.
  4. I'll convince you, just give me time. I just can't believe this goes unreported, a quick swipe and its under the carpet.
  5. I note with interest, but not surprise, that the impartial BBC article on the website about 'Sandy says its all Craigs fault' makes no mention of the FACT Jardine said he knew it started 3-5 years ago when quizzed by Chic Young, that he could write book about it. He said it, thats a FACT, what he knows, well....in the interests of transparency Sandy, speak now or forever hold your forked little tongue. It's your emotion for your club that makes you say these little things, that we can all respect, but you just told us all YOU KNOW SOMETHING and it's not all on Craig Whytes shoulders. As much as you try to convince yourself and all the rest of us, you sir, just put yourself centre stage in my humble opinion. Not bad for the supposedly quiet man who had to speak out. Many at Ibrox will be cringing in case you continue to speak out. I hope that you do,but this time, if you must - please speak with the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Either that or try and retain what little dignity is hidden away inside, after tonights admission live on air, and realise you're out of your depth on this one. In conclusion, if Sandy could write a whole book on it, surely some credible journalist somewhere can squeeze that into their story somewhere on the back pages tomorrow eh? Any takers lads? We know you're out there watching.....and listening. But are you prepared to speak up?
  6. Read between the lines people: No preferred bidder announcement Meaning no release of £500k Millers bid based on knowing sanctions Rangers appeal goes in against SFA sanctions Scenario: Bid not likely to go through with current sanctions in place all but confirmed Your move SFA..........
  7. I think Sandy might just find himself called as a witness now after that radio broadcast......... a, one two, a one two three four..... "are you listening HMRC, are you listening HMRC"
  8. Richard Gordon did try, Doddsy on a shimmy there..........almost trip over the ball too! A time and a place, ffs. If now is not the time and now is the place, then I no longer believe in the concept of time.
  9. This could be the Sportsound where we actually hear Chick's head explode!!!
  10. Simple fact is, I doubt any ex-player would take an interview or question on the subject if he was a revered 'old boy'. One hint of the truth and not towing the party line would see them walk a very fine line, especially if they end up being implicated in the EBT scheme. Closed shop. And yes, I did half expect Lomas to break out a flute
  11. It's not over, there are criminal prosecutions to come and his business interests in the States are reacting to the news. Twitchy erses all roon'
  12. Spot on my friend. If its about money, why don't we all get our local rivals back and play four times a season, guaranteed Tannadice and Dens would be heaving. The reason? Cos there are rules and some were broken. Same should apply to Rangers and not have them treated as a 'special case' even though most of their fans are indeed 'special'. However.... The piper who pays calls the tune and our piper at the moment according to Doncaster, is television or more exactly SKY. So lets examine that shall we. SKY SPORTS - NEWS CORP - MURDOCH - not a fit and proper person to run a company - verdict given by Parliamentary Select Committee RANGERS - MINTY - WHYTE - MILLAR - not fit and proper people to run companies - verdict outstanding from SPL and SFA News Corp used under hand tactics to cheat their way to exclusive stories gained by deceiving and defrauding and as a result the biggest of the culprits as an institution - News of the World - was taken out of circulation by the owner, who himself has now been found guilty of its doings through negligence and wrong doing. And the SPL are worried about taking money from this guy? Really?? Surely he's set the precedent for them to knock Rangers down to size no matter how many jobs, no matter how many people will miss them, no matter what or who is ultimately responsible - the institution that stood to gain from it MUST be punished and then, if found guilty of being complicit, the individuals concerned MUST follow.
  13. If Millers bid is accepted today and he puts up the £500k, am I right in thinking the period of 'due diligence' begins and effectively it's an ' over to you ' situation, where we all await the outcome (or further delay) in the SPL meeting next Monday? Does this also mean that his bid is still subject to the sanctions imposed being lifted AND a newco getting straight into the SPL, still keeping all assets etc? In other words, getting away with everything? Does it now fall to the SPL and SFA to stop the game being lost of all integrity by keeping the sanctions in place and restructuring the voting systems and not accepting a newco? How about the tax cases, do they impact on Millars bid, is it dependent on the CVA, are creditors going to get anything? Apologies for the all the ifs and buts, I just can't see how its moral, legal or acceptable in any way for this to be allowed. Any explanations gratefully received.
  14. Supporters remain opposed to losing the heritage and history of the existing club, but McCoist believes it wouldn’t be a disaster. He said: ‘If it happened, we would still have the history of the club, absolutely. I have done a bit of homework on it and newcos have happened at clubs like Plymouth and Crystal Palace. ‘I can imagine people would try to wind up supporters about it — that’s part and parcel of the game. ‘But, make no mistake, we wouldn’t lose our history at all. We wouldn’t allow that to happen. ‘If there is a team playing at Ibrox in blue shirts, it’s Rangers' You know, this might be the first time Ally has nailed it. We know your slimy cheats will be back somehow, but your history dies with the name. From that day forth, the best song you will have given to fans of every team the world over, regardless of which league, country or anything else is: 'Are you Rangers in disguise....?'
  15. I think the gentleman has covered that argument now sir, please enjoy the song. You have to love how the opening clip is stuff going down the drain then a red white and blue wall shows up in the background.........and it perfectly sums up the current situation in the title. Then it has the added bonus of being reflective of the party mood everyone is anticipating when the bubble finally pops. I know I really shouldn't say this but.....I'm expecting lots of greenies for this one!!
  16. From the wee ginger guy at the end of the rainbow, the one with the four leaf clover and the pot of gold.... Sorry, that's profiling......
  17. Wonder if the SFA/SPL are considering the implications of SKY money now that Murdoch has been officially found by a parliamentary committee to be not a fit a proper person to run a company and that it was only the Tories that didn't vote to make it unanimous. Hmmmm......... More fuel for the fire and another case of a lying cheating company thats been living off 'the people' Parallel universes or what?
  18. If its money they understand, has anyone done the sums the other way round? I mean, we keep getting told 'we need Rangers and the money they bring' argument. And the sums and the figures about what the clubs, the game and kentucky fried chicken will lose. But what if all fans of all clubs boycott all games involving Rangers and Celtic. I know it won't affect them, but in the same way as the season ticket thing, it would have the same affect. Tally up the home gates for each club against the OF based on 4 games a season top six and three games a season bottom six, take off the home support versus the OF ticket allocation. Base it on all the pubs and the businesses that would lose income on those match days. If you think of that, kind of gives you a warm fuzzy feeling to know we can carry that on for years and years to come if they let this lot back in eh? Now that's a demonstration. That will let our chairmen know we also know what we can cost them if they go through with the back door acceptance of a Rangers Newco into the SPL. Has someone done this already, apologies if its a repost of an old question.
  19. f**k me! Are the entire Sportsound team really looking at the FA /Hodgson appointment and questioning the English FA about ignoring the fans!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats the definition of irony absolutely nailed for me from now on, someone please email that to them if you're on their website. Please!!!
  20. Spencey tries to get heard but three blowhards and a sideways glance from the producer is hard to get by sometimes. Still, Spencey is okay. Coincidence? You decide....
  21. At the risk of revealing my true identity because i was assured of an anonymous position when joining this panel but my uncles sisters nieces nephew's brothers dad (find me now bears.....) works quite high up in the corporate banking sector and deals with HMRC after the fiasco they were in. It would be unprecedented in a case of this magnitude to accept less than 10p in the pound. That's what he has been told, pardon the pun, off the record.
  22. I see what you're saying but the RFF and Millers/TBK money wouldn't make that much of a dent in £193 million would it?
