  1. I’d legitimately punt a solid third to a half of the players who made an appearance vs Montrose before McCann.
  2. Accusing fans of wanting players to fail because they’re raising pretty mild concerns about signings in an important area of the team is just reductive. There is undoubtedly one or two with that mentality on here, but I genuinely believe the vast majority of us are all good egg Falkirk fans who want our team to do well, even if we have differing opinions.
  3. At just under 6ft, hopefully give us a bit of presence too.
  4. Knowing our luck as he's on a one-year contract - he goes and bags 25 goals and fucks off for free
  5. I would also like to point out before people come on and accuse folk of being negative; I have faith in McGlynn and will absolutely give this boy a chance - I'll be delighted if he goes onto bag a barrowload. But it is underwhelming on the face of it. We were rumoured to be in for the St Mirren boy who went to Airdrie last week, and if Pars do go onto sign Mochrie as is rumoured, it would be fair to even label things as becoming a little concerning.
  6. Aye I'd like to see a more experienced striker come in or someone with at least a moderate record of bagging a few, even if not exactly prolific. That might be more likely via the loan market as August progresses.
  7. A hallmark of the last few season's recruitment.
  8. please please please be a striker john xxxx
  9. Let's start this one up early, why not. I don't think we'll concede anywhere near as many as we did last year and I suspect McGlynn will go with the same defence that looked solid vs Montrose. I think McCann has something to offer, but not entirely sure how he fits in to the team. I live in hope that we can get another striker in before this as we've offered worryingly little up front in all the games so far. I'd also drop Nesbitt for McGuffie based on yesterday.
  10. Airdrie next week hwfg John McGlynn's Navy Blue Army xxx
  11. Booing after todays game was a riddy but tbf it was only a couple of people around me and it was pretty half-hearted booing at that. Total faith in McGlynn but we desperately need more firepower. Alegria might come good (and I really hope he does) but he looked weak as f**k when he came on. Donaldson was my MOTM, McKay looked a different player from last year and Yeats is a find. Nesbitt and Hetherington I’m just still not sold on in the slightest. Edit to add: actually disagreed with one of McGlynns subs; I’d have taken Nesbitt off and put Alegria up with Oliver. Oliver works his socks off tbf to him, esp when he had so little around him.
  12. That was… not good. I thought Donaldson and McKay actually played really well together and we do look a lot more solid. Morrison is so frustrating to watch. Sorry but anyone who thought Nesbitt was good was watching a different game from me I’m afraid. Sand dancer. McGuffie offered more when he came on.
  13. I don’t know about other people, but I feel a damn sight better this year compared to last considering we have a manager as opposed to a youth coach.
  14. 1 point out of 12 against Montrose last season. Would get a bit of positivity going if we could get a win tomorrow.
  15. If Keena was still with us, he’d probably be our best striking option. That says more about the state of our frontline more than his quality, to be honest.
  16. Also, if I was Leon McCann I’d be feeling really hard done by getting dropped for today
  17. Credit to McGlynn, it wasn’t pretty today but I don’t think many saw us getting through this group. All money for getting through towards a striker please. Looked toothless up top again.
  18. Anyone manage to attend the McGlynn FSS meeting tonight and fancy giving a wee summary of what was said?
  19. Never a world beater, but the fact we played a youth striker up front ahead of him last season is laughable.
