Before the season got shut down in January, I thought he looked okay if pretty unspectacular - he hardly stuck out as a player who'd played at a higher level. He then got injured over the lockdown and when the season came back he made his way back into the side for the last few weeks of the campaign when we were (as is well known) absolutely rank rotten. Kelly too was total garbage during this period, but I would defend him slightly by saying he looked absolutely nowhere near fit and at any football club with even a semblance of competence he wouldn't have been in the matchday squad, never mind starting. I think he'd be ok for back-up, but as others have said, I'd be baffled (and worried) if he was starting in the Premiership.

I have been somewhat impressed with how Sheerin has come across so far but giving a 2 year deal to folk like Wilson and continuing to play Gary Miller rings alarm bells for me.

I echo much of this. This will be the first season in 15 years for me where I haven't bought a season ticket - I've just had enough. As Marsh said, it's not only the consistent mistakes that have been made over the past decade, it's the complete lack of contrition from those who have been making them. Even with the recent changes at the club, I see no sign of things changing either - evidenced by Deans bumbling performance at the Q&A (providing no real reason why he did not step down at the end of last season, other than "it would get worse if I left" - for which he has 0 proof) and Holt coming across like an arse on an ego-trip when he has no qualifications to do the job he has been given. The fact that things show no sign of improving - if anything, I think we are becoming increasingly amateurish - is the final straw for me. I totally respect the idea many fans have that not buying a season ticket harms the club - but I would flip it and suggest that by buying a season ticket, you are assenting to/enabling some of the same people that have got us to our lowest point in 40 years to continue doing what they are doing. That is the ultimate harm. Whatever way you try to dress it up, by buying a season ticket, you are confirming to them that, no matter what they do or how many mistakes they make (and hardly ever admit to making), you'll still get circa 1500-2000 fans coming through the turnstile, clapping their hands, going "COYB!!!" and coming back every second week, regardless of outcome. Why would I continue to give money to an operation that has that opinion of me? The only power I therefore have is to withdraw my season ticket money to let them know that I completely disagree with what is happening at my club and the direction they are taking it in. I feel many others have made that same choice too.

if this is the case, and this is the squad we might well be starting the season with, we're going nowhere fast.

All of this reminiscing about these amazing players we all had the privilege of watching in a Falkirk shirt at the top level does result in a bit of kick to the balls when you remember that on the current squad, we're looking like we'll begin our League One campaign against Cove Rangers with Anton Dowds leading the line.

It will take some doing to convince me otherwise that Gary Holt is doing absolutely f**k all apart from stealing a wage.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before (I know there chat about it) and I know squad numbers typically mean f**k all but I saw that not only Dowds but Keena has been shunted too. Had 9 last year, 17 this year. Surely means Sheerin has a main man up front in mind.

It should go without saying that any Falkirk 'supporter' who pulls the "I'm buying a season ticket cos I'm SUCH a superfan and I choose to blindly follow this mob who seem to actively hate me" while making others feel guilty about taking a refund without knowing anything about their personal circumstances, is a total dick.

Everytime they release a statement where I think they have reached peak 'out of touch', they always manage to go on and outdo themselves. What an absolute shower.
