We are likely in a bottom 3 scrap with Livi and County at the moment, although I’d say we are probably the better of the 3. I think our starting 11 is better than that but we badly lack depth. Griffiths at 50% would be good enough to at least push us towards top of the bottom 6, so arguably yes. Signing defenders is so overrated anyway.

If anyone wants cheering up, today’s result seems to be becoming a tradition and it hasn’t hurt too much so far. 2019/20, 2nd away game, concede 6 to the eventual champions, finish 3rd. 2020/21, 1st away game, concede 6 to the eventual champions, finish 2nd, win the playoffs. 2021/22, 1st away game, concede 6...Celtic are champions and we comfortably stay up? This is how I feel really. The draw with St Mirren was far more relevant. We’ve lost 6 to Celtic countless times before and will continue to until the end of time. Weird with the red cards though. None all last season and suddenly 2 in 2. Both very avoidable too. Wouldn’t count on getting anything against Hibs so could really do with at least 4 points from Motherwell and Livingston before the derby.

Think for their first goal it’s actually just good attacking play. Brophy is the one challenging initially and Ashcroft is holding him off easily, then Main comes from his blindside and he’s not in a position to challenge. He should still maybe do better but I understand why he didn’t.

I knew that but still think United doesn’t make much sense compared to Rovers or Thistle etc. Dundee would actually make more sense as Dundee United as they were formed by the merging of 2 clubs.

Considering Dundee were first it’s United that should change really. Doesn’t make sense as a name anyway, considering they weren’t formed as a combination of clubs and had another major club already there. Imagine Cove rebranding to Aberdeen United [emoji23]. Don’t let that get in the way of a good troll though.

This should be good so I’ll happily bite. Both clubs are joint 7th most successful with Kilmarnock, with both having better European achievements. Both currently occupy places in the top tier, unlike Kilmarnock or Queen’s Park above them. In an all time top flight league table, Dundee are 7th and United 11th. Attendance figures obviously fluctuate, but United are nearly always 6th with Dundee usually between 7th and 10th. Who then outside the big 5 is clearly larger and more successful and considering they both feature in top 25% for any logical category, how high would they have to feature to be “2 of the largest and most successful clubs in the country”?

Not really something that can be defended tbh, it’s just plain lazy. I get that it’s unusual to have one side without a suffix, but if Scottish media can tell the difference between Clyde/Clydebank, Man Utd/City, Bristol City/Rovers, Sheffield Utd/Wednesday and CSKA/Lokomotiv/Spartak/Dynamo/Torpedo Moscow, they can surely manage it with 2 of the largest and most successful clubs in the country.

The only reason I’d chose Robertson would be as the most logical direct replacement for Byrne. Anderson with McGhee dropping deeper, or McGowan with McCowan on the wing would both probably be better options though.

Anyone confirm what’s happening with streaming league games for Season ticket holders? I’m assuming it’s continuing like last season but don’t think the club have said anything about it. Waiting for clarification but think I’m going to have to isolate until next week so can’t make the game now. Thankfully hadn’t been up today yet.

Not sure where they’re planning on seating everyone. Given it took several days for them to contact the 500 who were successful in the ballot previously, if they have to allocate 3000 people a seat that isn’t their usual I can’t see them managing that in that time. Same goes for if we can’t get more than 2500 at the game for whatever reason. Hopefully the clean up of the other 2 stands suggests we will all be in our actual seats.

Don’t think there’s any particular logic to the rest. I’d hope we avoid 2 trips to the highlands unless they are back to back.

Arbroath could be the ideal place for either of them. Local, part time so can train with Dundee part of the week and at the right level to hopefully get games but be pushed. Any higher and I doubt they’ll play much but I wouldn’t want to see them drop to league 1.

Doubt they will be as aggressive as that, not initially anyway. Raith had to take that risk and as many times as not, they’d have lost a second leg 3-0 playing like that. Killie don’t need to do that.
