  1. It’s quite clear that for whatever reason Gayfield won’t be allowed in the top flight. This will mean that Arbroath decide to ground-share with newly relegated Dundee, meaning there will be premiership football at Dens, involving the part time team from down the road, which will be the most Dundee thing ever.
  2. A lottery is probably our best chance of a result at the moment.
  3. Dens is nowhere near as exposed as Pittodrie or Gayfield so hopefully it’s ok, particularly as the wind is supposed to ease as the afternoon goes on…
  4. Would be surprised, it’s supposed to calm down a little before then and even as it is right now it’s still just an average day at Gayfield!
  5. Not against the midfield choices as Anderson, McGowan and Byrne are all good for a battle. Concerned the only replacement for Griffiths when he’s exhausted after 20 mins will be Jakubiak.
  6. Dees on P&B: “How useless is our scouting network if we are only looking at local players?” McPake: “Hold my beer.”
  7. Stop making me optimistic. I can’t handle being optimistic about both the Scotland team and Dundee youth players [emoji23] Screw it, Mulligan for the Ballon D’Or
  8. He did, and Calum Ferrie was PoTY at Stirling (albeit in L2) and was never good enough, along with the majority of our youths in recent years. Kerr is also still one of the first names on many peoples (although not mine) list to be binned.
  9. Nothing against him, just that the vast majority of the games he’s played were in League 1 so it’s hard to judge, plus with Cammy and Elliot already there he’d have to make a sizeable step up to even be second choice. Not because those guys are particularly good, just that it’s a big jump. Tbh though, I didn’t think Anderson had any chance of making it and suddenly he became undroppable so would be delighted if Mulligan can do similar.
  10. Can’t see Mulligan contributing much right now, but wonder if he might be recalled and sent back out again to Dunfermline/Raith/Arbroath.
  11. It’s a fair question, but given that the players on the pitch were pretty much the only players we had at that moment, it’s hard to believe we would be trying to get suspensions. IMO, there’s 2 cynical fouls (McGowan and Anderson) and 1 dissent (Griffiths) which will always be bookings. Mullen doesn’t even touch Haring I don’t think but if Collum thinks he does and it’s a foul it’s probably a yellow. Hard to see that there’s anything strange going on on the football side.
  12. Poor lack of commitment to the cause. Your sacrifice could have earned us a dizzying 9th place finish.
  13. The stadium itself isn’t planned to be within the park, it’s on a former industrial site right on the edge between the park and the ice rink. The training pitches would be slightly in the park but open to public use.
  14. We could probably achieve a similar capacity to what’s planned by building a full stand where the Derry is and rebuilding the main stand, but the Derry is basically on a cliff so it would be hugely expensive and the main stand is listed so will present its own challenges. I think the completed ground still wouldn’t be able to hold concerts or anything like that as there are noise restrictions in place outside of football (pretty sure I haven’t made that up…). Plus, everything else being built around the new stadium goes a long way to funding it, so without that it’s not happening. I won’t actually miss many things about Dens, but the quirk of the 2 grounds is definitely 1.
  15. If we are only talking a year that we would homeless then I’m sure most of our support would be content with Tannadice, as long as the new ground is in the process of being built. If it’s any longer than that then I’m not sure I fancy the idea full stop. Far too many teams have suffered major losses to their attendances through years of being homeless. We are good enough at doing that on the pitch without adding to it.
  16. Great news that Hibs games with County and Livi are off with their Covid issues. Would have been frustrating if they’d had to play with a weak team.
  17. Considering Dundee is a UNESCO city of design, it would be nice if the new stadium wasn’t just a copy of a fairly boring looking Rotherham stadium. No doubt it will be though as the cost will be much lower. Prefer that 2 tier ground on the inside as you’d imagine the atmosphere will be great and quite imposing.
  18. That’s the round that Scotland start in though. Anyone playing in the first round of the Europa League has had to qualify by being one of the best teams in their country. They’ve qualified to play teams from other countries. In Europe.
  19. Reckon it’s McMullan missing out that’s prevented that. We are seriously lacking out wide without him so getting the 3 in midfield probably became the priority as most of our play will go through there.
  20. It is, you have to login online before it lets you buy.
  21. Yeh saw that. Was tempted to try more out of curiosity but didn’t bother. Wonder if that’s an error with the system or if it would stop you if you tried.
  22. Managed it at bang on 10 this morning. Is it an issue with the page loading or you just not sure how to do it?
  23. If anyone else is struggling with this, I’ve answered my own question: When you arrive on the ticket homepage, click the 3 lines at the top right. Select My Tickets, then Renew/Make Payments. Accept the T&Cs, then your season ticket seat should appear and it’s straight forward from there.
  24. Can’t remember it ever being so quiet in here. Did my question kill the conversation? [emoji23]
  25. Anyone know how season ticket holders select their seat online for the cup game? Currently isolating until the middle of next week so can’t make it to the shop…
