I am beginning to wonder if that statement from the SFA was either taken out of context or said with the hope that it would encourage the SFL to vote yesterday and as they didn't will now be quietly forgotten about.

No it would require sustained fan and media pressure but I'm sure it could be done.

So will we need to fix the first division to ensure Rangers get promoted? With the squad they currently have I see no reason why they would be shoe-ins to win promotion at first time of asking. What if they went bust during the season? We'd just be back at the same place again. If we have been living beyond our means so much that we can't afford the **** to be out the league for more than one season then we need to start again. So what are people's predictions for today? I think only one of two things will happen. Either Sevco will be voted in to the SPL or the vote will be suspended. The lack of leadership on display from anyone involved in the running of Scottish football has been shocking. Once things settle down we need to replace the people at the top with ones that are able to drive through the necessary changes to our corrupt game. Had high hopes for the McLeish review but he proved himself on Radio Scotland this morning to be as big a *** apologist as anyone else in the game. This whole episode has been a shameful embarrassment. Last one out switch the lights off...

I like this statement.

Actually beginning to think that we have been daft to think that Rangers will be anywhere else but the SPL next season. Happy to be proved wrong but I think we are about to see a massive about turn by the SPL. I think the chairmen that came out saying no to newco believed that the SFL would capitulate and allow them in 1st division. Now that looks like it won't happen I can see some swift backtracking. I think we should all be prepared to walk away from Scottish Football come Wednesday evening.

Sorry, but how do you draw that conclusion from his statement. It could be taken either way. Short term self interest could mean Rangers in SFL3 and long term benefit of the game could mean the restructuring plans. His "statement" says nothing other than we will take a decision at some point if required.
