  1. "I can understand HMRC deciding that football clubs which do not pay their taxes need to be punished, but by effectively banning Rangers from Europe for three years all that will happen is that there will be less revenue generated by the club and consequently less money paid over to the taxman." - Charles Green, quoted from the BBC. How much money, and subsequently tax, does he think can be generated from the first qualifying round of the Champions/Europa League, played in the middle of the summer holiday season????????? Delusional in the extreme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18407309 That'll be the jelly ... now all we need is the ice cream
  3. What sort of answer is that from 1 of the countries leading businessmen?? SDM a leading businessman???????????? His empire is in meltdown and he off-loaded Rankers to the first bidder regardless of the consequences. As for his "I was duped" defence, that has vague similarities to the "A big boy did it and ran away" defence used by under 5s. He couldn't even spell due diligence!!!!!!!! Prominent businessman - yes, leading - I don't think so. Fred the Shred was stripped of his knighthood for failure on a monumental scale in his professed area of expertise. SDM allegedly presided over systematic measures to defraud HMRC out of millions. His time will come.
  4. Never mind deleted, this thread should be tagged to appear first above all other threads as a sign to anyone who visits P&B of the unity in the dislike of Rankers and the way they have conducted themselves for decades.
  5. if the CVA is rejected the new team need somewhere to play, why not put the stadium on the open market and then the newco team can pay a realistic rent for the stadium and training ground. If (when) the CVA is rejected, Rankers will not need Ibrokes to play their matches. Their new home ground will more likely be their current training facilities, with spectator numbers in the hundreds including those with four legs who are out for a Saturday afternoon stroll with their owners. Hope they remember to clear the dog shit from the pitch before kick-off or it could get messy!
  6. We either need to speed up or slow down the rate of posting on this thread to make sure the hammer finally falls on Rankers on Page 1690. Will that be at 2.35pm today when the SFA announce that they are to suspend the h**s for a year, thus triggering the exodus of players and hastening Green's loss of interest in actually going through with his crack-pot scheme, or will it be at some undefined point in the future when another milestone in the demise of one half of one of the most odious double acts in history is reached?
  7. "Hughie" Green seeking urgent talks with the SFA is nothing but a joke. If he/currants/Dumb & Dumber were serious about such talks they should have taken place as a matter of urgency BEFORE going to the CoS, not afterwards once they realise they have scored the biggest own goal in the putrid history of their club.
  8. Well said Mr Gilmour. First signs of a position being formed by the Chairmen? Hope you are stocked up on fire extinguishers at home
  9. Sorry to steal your thunder Jagsman. Wife always complains about getting things done quickly but i have no idea what she means
  10. "If you look after the sport the money will follow you, if you look after the money you'll kill the sport.'' John MacBeth Hit the nail firmly and squarely on the head with that statement if you ask me. Chairmen take note, before postponing your vote again.
  11. This is absolute gold. Rankers are redefining the Karma Sutra with the number of ways in which they can be f@cked!!!!!!!!
  12. Thanks Wullie. That would make for a season of 36 (or however many games they wanted) home games against their reserves. alternatively, they could play home and away between Greyskull and Murray Park for a bit of variety.
  13. I will bow to the superior knowledge of others, but is FIFA Statute 64 not bordering on being unenforceable? Hypothetically speaking, say a national body such as the SFA does something which although in compliance with their own orders, constitution, rule book or whatever, contravenes a member club's rights at law, what recourse does the member club have other than taking court action since it is expected that FIFA has approved the national body's rules etc. to allow it to have membership of the world governing body.
  14. A racing certainty based upon past performance. Someone a few posts above hit the nail on the head when they said that the SPL & SFA are dragging things out for long enough to let them die at their own hand rather than have the chair kicked away by the footballing authorities. Then they can be seen to have "given them as much time as possible to sort themselves out" but unfortunately they ran out of time. Of course, that would be nothing less than complete bull as men in blazers are not known for making difficult decisions.
