Absolutely right. You could liken him to the way Johnston was for Hamilton today; a real handful until the defence figured out how to handle him. On his day he can be electrifying, but not seeing much evidence so far and I think he needs a few more tools in his toolbag to make himself a proper threat for a whole game -

Agreed, but I think we can put some of that down to the surface as he wasn't the only one guilty of that -

Hamilton improved after their substitutions and Johnston came on, not because the defensive workhorse that McAllister isn't went off. Once Tait figured him out he faded out and went for a quick pass or cross -

He was in the game in the first half, but did his usual disappearing act in the second and deserved to be hooked. If he wants to be a regular in the starting 11 he needs to raise his game big time for the whole 90 minutes. Living on past glories and the hype and excitement that came with his return to the club, but so far this season he isn't doing it for me -

Surely the recoup of the 75K only occurs if we somehow manage to get anything for the sale/development of the player himself? Yes, it all affects the revenue and bottom line, but any fee received for another player can't be argued as offsetting the unjustifiable cost of another any more than the increased sale of hot dogs or caramel wafers from the snack kiosks, and I suspect we got a bit more from John McGinn's move to Villa than we got from Ross County. -

Far, far too sensible and logical a post for a football forum!!!!! but can't do anything but agree with everything you say. As much as OK did to keep us up last season, and as much as he appears to be a thoroughly decent guy, I can't help but feel that between them OK & Coleraine tried to "play" the club one way or another. Who knows if we will ever find out if they won, lost or drew in that process, but all sides can now move on preparations for the new season and life in general, thankfully. -

Bring on the annual accounts and we might get a hint of the financial outcome of this ... -

If we are the good guys in all of this, it could be that finalisation of any settlement with OK/Coleraine needs to factor in any compensation payable to Alloa (other club's managers are available), hence the hold up in a formal announcement -

The longer this has run on, and the longer the club has said nothing, the more convinced I am that OK has tried to move the goalposts in some way. It is clear that whatever arrangements were in place last season worked therefore why change them unless either something was agreed/written enabling them to change and the parties can't agree on how they should change or one party has proposed a change out of the blue and has tried to force acceptance of it and the other isn't happy about it. It's easy to join the dots of OK's teaching & Coleraine jobs still being available as a personal Plan B for him, but what club would leave their managerial position empty for so long in the summer with little evidence of trying to find someone unless it was part of a longer game with the knowledge/probability that their preferred candidate would be available in the future? Even OK's comments after the play-offs about working out a solution to his living arrangements started alarm bells ringing for me. Frustrating as it is, based on the above, I don't blame GLS or the club for digging their heels in if that is what's happening. My guess is that money could make this situation go away but If the club/GLS was to give-in to a settlement beyond what is due under the circumstances it would open the door to any future manager or player thinking they can chance their arm in negotiations. I get the point about retaining "alpha male" status, but at the end of the day it's business. -

Maybe OK can manage both teams, swapping sides at half-time -

Having watched the video of Sunday's match "from a different view", you clearly see that Hladky was no more off his line than Seigrist yet I don't remember seeing Beaton speak to him. We can easily start to sound paranoid over this, but it's difficult to argue in favour of Beaton's performance and decision making -
Lowlight(s) of the season

Conceding, or having them awarded against us? Two very different things, but that was a particularly dark day, wondering how we could ever beat automatic relegation against odds like that. -

That's why we need to offer him a contract extension asap, then if he is tempted away in subsequent transfer windows we hopefully get a decent amount for the deal -
St Mirren v Accies: Monday Night Madness
DXBBud replied to accies1874's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
TV pictures were clear, McCoist & Stewart were adamant no foul or no intent at the time, but then both back-tracked at half-time and agreed it should also have been red. The Hamilton thug clearly put his shoulder into McKenzie's forehead after making no attempt to get the ball. Collum bottled that decision and got a few others totally wrong. All the talk about things "evening out across the season" and him being held up as one of our best referees is absolutely laughable and speaks volumes about the standard of officiating in Scottish football. -
Surely the point of foreign referees is the opposite of what you suggest. Other clubs are falling foul of decisions made in favour of the ugly sisters based upon allegiencies, real or perceived. While foreign referees may have similar levels of in/competency, it would certainly be far more difficult to levy accusations of bias, therefore removing one factor from the equation.

Not again!!!!!! Better get used to this I suppose. Lesson to be learned from how Jack conducted himself regarding Barnsley though. Showed respect by meeting them and gratefully withdrew. Look what happened to the guy they appointed .... If Ipswich don't have a pot to pi55 in that will be clear if/when he speaks with them and he can make his decision once he is equipped with some details. Also, Jack has 2 years to go on his contract so buying him out of that plus compensation from any potential suitor will cost them, no matter how much that is by comparison to the numbers St Mirren is used to dealing with. If Ipswich don't have it they can't spend it. -

I thought exactly the same when I read the revised fixture schedule. That has definitely put the emphasis on earning enough points from the next 6 games to ease the pressure there will be if we don't get back on form as every one of the last four games is a potential banana skin if the league isn't decided by then. Saying that, how good would it be to either have the league wrapped up before or to even secure it on the day when our hygienically challenged neighbours come to call. -
