  1. We’re not. And I’d be interested to see how current figures compare to last year, if we removed the freebies.
  2. That’s a crazy price for a friendly. Guess that means there’s a slim chance our league cup games are priced like everyone else - think just about every other groups prices are £12 across the board! I’d usually go to home friendlies, but no chance at £15.
  3. Squad numbers available on the squad list on the official site. Ryan is now number 10. I believe this is his preferred squad number, but Louis Longridge got it ahead of him last season. Not uncommon for strikers to like the number 10 shirt.
  4. Is that home kit just last year’s away kit in black?
  5. Thought it was refreshing to see an honest interview. He knows his limitations but will offer what he can. This means we’re less likely to have a Higgy type scenario, where he thinks he’s better than he is, so keeps trying things he isn’t capable of and wasting possession.
  6. His leadership will hopefully benefit the youngsters around him. Something we seriously lacked last season. Think he’s a good player to have, but would imagine Beadling, Turner & Thomson (when fit) will be ahead of him in the pecking order for the majority of games.
  7. It’s creditors that you would owe money to, not debtors. Also, paying on time is very different to not owing any money. VAT, PAYE etc are paid in arrears and will be classed as a creditor even if not overdue. So I find it very hard to believe you’re claiming the club have absolutely no creditors. It’s more likely that he said you are not behind with any payments. As others have pointed out, we could simply have come to an agreement in terms of a repayment plan or something.
  8. That is 100% what happens. Same with every cup game. It’s not a case of each club keeps whatever % of ticket sales is generated from their fans.
  9. We will pay a fee for Nisbet. Just not what Raith are asking for. If he signs, the compensation will be decided at a tribunal. 1 year’s ‘development’ in the third tier of Scottish football (and at the age of 22) should only be around £5k.
  10. Funny you should mention QotS. AJ had him on trial at East End last summer, before signing for Raith and said he wasn’t good enough (and then signed El Bakhtaoui and Hippolyte)... obviously doesn’t/didn’t rate him highly at all!
  11. Would imagine Turner & McGill were 2 of those deals, due to compensation having to be settled. Both were under contract to 31st May.
  12. Sounds like Nicky Clark, who we badly missed last season. An old fashioned poacher, who is only really useful in/around the box will work in the right set up, but be fairly useless if the team doesn’t play to his strengths. Given what other fans have said, sounds like he worked well in a partnership (presumably his partner did the dirty work?) but struggled up top on his own? Again, that’s fairly normal for a poacher/goalscorer. A lone striker role is best suited to a target man or a player who will happily bring the ball down and run at defenders, not a penalty box striker.
  13. Say it’s a £10k development fee. If his wage demands are £200p/w less than a comparable free agent, there’s no extra cost in this year’s budget. I would imagine that when targeting players, they’ve identified where fees would be payable and worked out a budget accordingly. I’d certainly rather we enquired about paying small fees for players that are playing with confidence, if available, rather than focusing on players who have been released by teams around us.
  14. Joe Thomson’s unavailable for the foreseeable future. We have Beadling, who’s a holding midfielder, so would imagine they may play in a 3 when Thomson’s back, or be battling to partner Beadling.
  15. If true, an attitude like that could cost us. A young player wishing to weigh up his options is not a sign that he wouldn’t give 100% for us, or be fully committed to the club. That means that this bizarre policy would mean we are only signing players that other championship clubs haven’t shown an interest in? It would be absolutely ridiculous to tell players that we’re not interested in them, if they listen to another club’s offer. Please tell me you’ve made this up?
  16. He scored away to Falkirk and Morton this season. Last season he also scored in the 2-2 draw in Inverness, that saw us into the playoffs. Has struggled with injuries for the last 2 years though and hasn’t played many minutes.
  17. El Bakhtaoui - 1,866 mins per goal Andy Ryan - 374 mins per goal Hippolyte - 676 mins per goal L Longridge - 539 mins per goal Keena - 198 mins per goal Anderson - 239 mins per goal. So, all of the other attackers had significantly better goal ratios than him, despite Faissal playing more minutes than any of the above and receiving the same service. Also worth noting that J Longridge, Beadling and Connolly were also under 1,000 mins per goal, which is significantly better than El Bakhtaoui. This is league goals only - just used BBC stats, which gives you the mins per goal.
  18. Looked really good at times, but more often than not was totally anonymous. Scored a really good goal in our 3-2 win at Tannadice, but didn’t really produce anything else of note. Our strikers got really poor service last season and he was one of the men responsible for providing them the service. He was out injured for about 4 months, but in all honesty you didn’t really notice he was gone and when he was fit again, you didn’t really notice he’d returned either.
  19. Seeing Sibbald and Miller lose the head at East End and get sent off in the same game, both for violent conduct. McManus putting us 1 up at Tannadice in the playoffs. That 4-3 game v St Mirren in 16/17. Higgy scoring a panenka penalty to beat Raith in a crucial game, in the season we missed about 15 penalties. To be fair, I’d say scoring 4 away to Falkirk was a great day for the fans. From going 1-0 down early on, to cruising at 4-1 up was brilliant, despite Falkirk getting a late consolation. Incredible that the manager got sacked just 1 game later! Admittedly, the last season was pretty bad. But we did have a lot of good times and good memories under Johnston. Worth remembering he signed Morris, Aird, McManus, Clark, Cardle, Murdoch, Higgy, Beadling & Talbot. All of them did well for us. They weren’t all duds.
  20. Out of interest, what’s the deadline for this? Just renewed my season ticket etc, but planning to contribute to this.
  21. The Allan Johnston special. Centre halves that can’t play with the ball at their feet, being asked to play it out from the back. Resulting in a lot of sideways/backwards passing, meaning the opposition have time to get everyone set in position, before the team even get as far as the halfway line.
  22. Would imagine contract talks will have begun this week and we’ll hopefully get some news next week. Muirhead certainly one of the most disappointing signings. People expected a lot and have had been a huge anti-climax. But not one of the worst ever signings. It’s not too long ago Potter signed Jim Paterson and Paul George. Jefferies signed awful players like Sorel Chemin, Michal Hrivnak and Ivan D’Angelo. McIntyre signed Jack Ross, who retired before playing a game! Going further back we have guys like Jesper Christiansen, Georgi Hristov and many more. However, Jamie Mole is the worst ‘player’ I have ever seen in a Pars shirt. Crawford won’t get punted. If we aren’t challenging for promotion, next season will be incredibly dull if there’s no Raith or Falkirk. Can’t wait for our festive derby against.... maybe Alloa? Possibly Dundee, if Forfar come up in the playoffs.
