  1. That guy’s a space cadet. Imagine laughing at someone saying McPake’s doing a good job. 8 points clear, 16 clean sheets in 27 league games. How can anyone claim that’s not a good job? Regardless of the level he’s managing at, he’s clearly doing a great job. As someone else mentioned above, he claimed Comrie couldn’t be a good RB at championship level, cause he had a poor game v Celtic once. Went on to argue that he was too small to be a RB. Then when he got called out on that, said ‘small’ meant he didn’t have enough pace to be a RB.
  2. By the way, who was the Falkirk fan on here last week asking who Matty Todd was? Think he knows now.
  3. I don’t care. I was there and I loved that. Mehmet, Benedictus, Breen, Hamilton and KRH joint runners up for MoM. But Matty Todd killed Falkirk’s title bid tonight. A few times in that second half he absolutely destroyed Coll Donaldson and it was brilliant to watch.
  4. Matty Todd dominated Falkirk in the second half. Played in behind the striker and Falkirk couldn’t deal with him. Absolutely fantastic. i might post a more balanced comment tomorrow, giving Falkirk a bit of praise for the first half, but we absolutely battered them second half and they were lucky it was only 2 in the end. Fantastic crowd, brilliant atmosphere and another McPake masterclass. 16 clean sheets in 27 games. Title is ours to lose now.
  5. Yeah, cause giving your CBs all that time and space last time worked out so badly for us.
  6. Nah, that’s certainly not what I was trying to get at. Think it’s quite likely police have said no. We know what they can be like. Somehow they seem to decide that this game needs more extreme security measures than an old firm game. I’d forgotten Celtic B were there too. Every chance their fans wrecked the toilets or something.
  7. Euan Anderson wasn’t even the ref for Dunfermline v Alloa on Saturday. Why make this nonsense up?
  8. At this stage, it is what it is. I realise it’s not going to change. But when was this discussion about the North East being out of action? Feels like quite recently we had our ‘Academy Day’ where we had all our youth teams in the North East. Surely we didn’t put the youth players in an area that’s deemed unsafe/failed some sort of H&S assessment?
  9. Club have tweeted that over 7000 home tickets have been sold - think that suggests that tickets may have been sold for that section? Away end holds 3,000. So if there’s over 7,000 home tickets sold, that must be every seat.
  10. Yep. Doesn’t make sense. Even from the front of the main stand, you can get nowhere near the pitch or opposition fans. Not like the seats are ‘out of action’ either, as they’re usually available for away fans every week - and are available to buy for Edinburgh fans for our next home game.
  11. Confirmation that we’re just not selling anymore tickets/opening any more sections. Disappointing. Seems strange to turn down extra money.
  12. We’ve not released tickets for the full east wing and think we’ve left sections of the east stand unavailable. 9500ish seems most likely, unless we release more sections. All home tickets now look to have been sold. No new sections made available as yet. Also worth remembering the first couple of rows in the Section NW part are closed off and probably a few more rows of seats here and there not been made available.
  13. They only opened section L for ticket sales tonight, so assuming he means the full NW is sold out, rather than the NW minus section L.
  14. Just over 10k - roughly 10,100, I believe. North East holds about 1200 and total capacity is roughly 11,350.
  15. It’s the east wing that has seats available, west wing sold out a while ago. They’ve also not opened up the furthest right section of the east wing yet. Section L and the NE are clearly considered last resorts. But it’s hard to see those areas not being required, at least to some extent. Would expect east wing to be fully available tomorrow morning, then open up one section at a time, starting with Section L.
  16. Have police blocking access via the east side of the ground? Open the gate at the NW turnstiles, so that fans with NE tickets go through the car park that way. Will be Tuesday 9th May and Saturday 13th for semi final and Thursday 18th and Sunday 21st for the final. Both legs of final will be on Alba, I’d imagine. Don’t think it’s been announced officially, but that’s the usual format. Basically, if Falkirk want to keep players sharp for the Scottish Cup final, it would make sense for them to make sure they’re in the playoffs and don’t win the league.
  17. For the month of February, I’d have gone for someone like Matty Todd if they wanted a Pars player. Benedictus wasn’t bad. It was just his worst month for us, so far. February included the defensive horror show at Airdrie (ensuring it was our worst month defensively, as a team) and David Hutton saving his penalty at East End. However, his form over the last 26 games as a whole deserves recognition.
  18. Benedictus League 1 player of the month for February. In my opinion, it was his worst month of the season. But that’s possibly more because he had been outstanding for the first 20 games or so. Didn’t look his usual self for most of the month - but was back to his best on Saturday. Possibly just someone looking at the fact he’s probably been our player of the year and will be in the running for league’s player of the year, but hasn’t got any awards yet?
  19. Regarding the North East, surely we could open the 2/3 sections nearest the NW? That would still keep at least 40 yards between the fans in there and the away fans.
  20. If Fisher was still here, or if Comrie was fit, I’d expect a very similar setup to the away game. I just can’t see us playing a back 5 without Comrie to play on the right of the 3 CBs. Benedictus will be in the middle whenever we play 3 CBs and the other 2 CBs are left footed, which just didn’t work when it was tried on Saturday. Think we’re likely to see a 4, with Hamilton sitting very deep, protecting them. Overall game plan should be very similar, just a different shape.
  21. No chance we play that back 5. We tried similar on Saturday and couldn’t cope with a left footer at RCB - albeit, that was Otoo, rather than Breen, but it’s still the same issue. With Comrie out, we will definitely play a back 4. edit - would also expect Mochrie to play. He was taken off for a rest at the weekend.
  22. Wighton, Mochrie and Todd’s subs on Saturday were all to make sure they were ‘fresh’ for tomorrow. Was surprised one of Chalmers/Hamilton and KRH weren’t subbed off as well. If Edwards is fit, he’ll play. Assuming Comrie’s out, MacDonald will be at RB. Mochrie, KRH and Todd in a 3 behind Wighton. Unless McPake moves Todd back one, to play beside Hamilton and starts McGowan?
  23. If we hadn’t dropped points in games we were “expected to win” (your words, not mine), we’d have 78 points and be well out of sight. We’ve both dropped points when we shouldn’t have. But that’s football, that’s what happens. Such a stupid post. As others have highlighted, we’ve dropped 6 points to Clyde and Peterhead. We dropped 2 to Kelty. We lost away to Montrose. Using your argument, the difference between the 2 sides should be the games between the us, since we should both win every other game. Yet, you somehow used that logic to argue that dropping 5 points in the 2 games against us isn’t the problem?
