  1. Hey everybody,

Up until about this time last week I had read every page of this thread, but due to some family circumstances I've fell behind and only seeing snippets in the MSM I don't have a clue what's been happening in this saga.

Any chance anybody could fill me in on what's happened over the past week or so???

    Cheers!

Coisty says no to title stripping and he will probably get his way, slowly the whole world is starting to realise that rangers will always be rangers and 5 years from now they will be back on top of spl with a debt free well run well structured business and they won't even hear us plebs calling them cheats from up in their ivory towers.

Oh and chuck green says they will consider helping the country out of a pickle by plugging the gap in sfl 3 provided we all agree to sweep the duel contract investigation under the rug and never speak of it again.

Meanwhile follow follow and other such forums continue to be enraged by us interfering in there business

  2. Ahh the most satisfying moment of my life today, I was introduced to a guy at a meeting and over the coffee break and the usual small talk I asked the guy who he supported " I'm a rangers man" he said proudly.

Without missing a beat I shook my head condescendingly and said " no I mean WHO'S YOUR BIG TEAM " I was still chuckling for the full 3 minute ensuing lecture about their triumphant spl return capped off with regular champions league wins as they're now debt free !!!

Ahh man I'm gony enjoy this 3 season holiday

  3. Finally managed to drag a conversation about Sevco out of a Sevco supporter at work, where he came out with the "haven't we been punished enough" line.

I let it go for a wee while and then told him a story about a guy who lives a few doors down the road from me who went out in his car the other week while completely bladdered, wrote off his car, and being uninsured has been left completely out of pocket. He was injured and couldn't work and lost his job. "And now" says I " the poor bugger is getting charged with drink driving as well!"

"Rightly so" says my Sevco supporting mate.

I replied "But, what with losing his car, his job, and getting injured, hasn't he been punished enough?":lol::lol:

Haha I heard coisty foned the court and got the judge telt they wouldn't be accepting any punishment handed down

  4. I read an article in the papers a few years back by the then head of Strathclyde police. He quoted that the extra cost of policing a alone in the central belt in Scotland on OF match day games was around £5 million extra than normal to the tax payer. And the figure rose even more if it was a cup final or title decider game being played. You have to wonder the pitiful amount offered by the OF to police the area around the stadium.

Then you have to add in costs of court proceedings for offenders as well as any possible jail time given, factor in the costs from the emergency services ie ambulances and surgery and other injuries that where seen too.

I'm more inclined to double your estimate easily there adding all the other mitigating factors ongoing after a game has been played.Court costs, lawyers fees, hospital costs and any other cost attributed to an OF game.

Your £40 ticket if your are an OF fan could end up costing the tax payer hundreds of thousands of pounds if you was a trouble maker by the way the article read earlier :o.

Your spot on, there are massive costs that can't be calculated. A social worker I know once told me about a lad at a glasgow school who was deemed to be a Celtic fan though he apparently didn't care much for football at all anyway one day apparently Celtic beat rangers 6-2 though I have to confess I don't recall this ( around 6-8 yrs ago ) anyway he was squarely battered at school on the Monday, came into school raging on the Tuesday tooled up with a brick but was quickly beaten up a second time, police and courts became involved and eventually repeated threats against the boys familly led to the parents breaking up over the space of a couple of years and the lad going into foster care and borstal. He's now in a long time psychiatric unit with his care costing around 2 grand a week. He's only early 20s now ( can anyone be arses working out 2 grand a week over another 60 years not to mention the time he's been there his borstal costs. Social work costs. Teachers taking days to attend court n children's panel. Children's panel costs. Schools having to get agency teachers to cover teacher court and panel days.

Maybe loads of other costs I havnt thought of and this is one side incident around a single old firm game, if you really think hard and you live in the west if Scotland you will be able to recall many incidents where an old firm game has cost society money that won't be in any official figures

  5. Or it could be that Thomson was just repeating something that was a matter of public record. I doubt if the members of the tax tribunal are going to be subject to personal threats and abuse. Unless you know something we don't...............

I can't imagine any rangers fans making threats against the tax tribuneral.

I mean I know there have been noises on follow follow about rising up against those who have wronged them and I know they have recently issued the odd death threat to lawyers mp's and spl managers and posted the odd bomb and bullet Here and there but I can't imagine they would extend that into making threats

  6. McCoist Refuses To Accept Rangers Didn’t Win Champions League Last Season

Speaking at a supporters rally, Ally McCoist made it clear he will never accept that Rangers didn’t win the Champions League last season.

The head coach of Sevco is adamant that Rangers beat Barcelona 2-1 in a thrilling final in Munich two months ago, and lambasted “sinister forces” inside the SFA and UEFA who are trying to claim otherwise.

“What they are doing to our club is unforgivable,” vented McCoist, closely flanked by his handlers from Carstairs psychiatric hospital.

“The joy we all felt when Kirk [broadfoot] headed the winner past Víctor Valdés will never go away,” asserted the angry newco boss, to loud cheers from the assembled Sevco fans.

“We won that final fair and square. But now people are trying to tell us we were pumped out in the preliminaries, and that Chelsea won it on penalties? It’s outrageous!”

Added McCoist forcefully: “Who are these people? We demand to know.”

The rotund ex-Rangers striker was then bundled into an ambulance and taken back into care.

Club ambassador Sandy Jardine then stepped forward to address the crowd, and urged the Sevco loyal to boycott Champions League matches next season, as a show of their defiant corporate might.

“Make no mistake, we know who our enemies are,” revealed Jardine, who earns an excellent wage for stoking up hatred. “And I predict Real Madrid and Inter Milan will go to the wall without our fans there to bankroll them next season.”

HAHAHAHA I can't decide if your a comic genius OR if you have just copy and pasted an actual story from the daily record

  7. Most of the current SPL members are the members who split in 1998... the SPL itself is the organisation formed in 1998. They shouldn't have signed a Perpetual Agreement if they didn't intend to stick to it.

Yes but I think it's a bit of huffy dummy spitting by spl saying you sfl dudes demanded a cut of our money because we were gettin a big tv deal so now that you guys are getting an unexpected huge tv deal of your own then we want a share of that. I'm not suggesting they will get it I imagine it's just a bit of posturing and point making

  8. Lets be clear on 2 things.

[1] SFL doesn't get a share of SPL TV rights... it gets a fee agreed in 1998 to allow it to breakaway without 2yr notice, and to continue promotion-relegation thereafter. SPL's perfectly able to pay it with income from returning jam jars, if they liked.

[2] formally there doesn't seem any rational reason why SPL should have a veto over who can/can't hold SFA or SFL membership.

    Those are the facts.

    Haha those are not facts.

You said there dosnt SEEM any reason , that's not stating facts I could equally say there Does SEEM to be a valid reason the spl should be allowed to veto a club from sfl

Ie if spl said they didn't want rangers cause they're cheats and banned from our league for life then sfl would have to take this on board Incase the club ever one 1st division and spl said they weren't accepting them

THAT'S a valid reason for spl to get a say on sfl membership applicants.

    Because they say so...?

Presumably only reason SPL want SFL's rights, not just see SFL sell direct, is so SPL can cream-off some.

  9. Doesn't happen. SFL have an agreement from 1998 that they will provide a team to the SPL and receive a team from the SPL every year. For this agreement, the SFL receives a fee from the SPL. This agreement was the only way that the SPL could be formed at the time and the amount of the fee is not directly related to the TV monies but to the total income of the SPL regardless of source.

Lest you forget that the SPL was formed to ensure that the SPL clubs could divi up the TV money amongst themselves. The SFL should be doing this in the same way as they have historically with BBC Alba

Ohh yes. I know the theory I'm just suggesting ( guessing ) what spl will cite as a reason as I'm sure they will have to offer one

  10. They have no claim but in the name of sporting integrity they'll try their best to get it. We are an SFL club and the media rights are an SFL matter.

I assume it's based around the sfl receiving a share of spl tv rights therefor if sfl get a tv deal if their own then spl will claim a share of that. Tit for tat stylie, actually seems fair enough.

Also every wing of Scottish football governance gets a say in who joins up if spl were totally opposed to a particular club joining Scottish football then it's right they get to voice an opinion as membership to sfl comes with provisional membership to sPl assuming repeated promotion
