You can't compare McNiff to Creaney or Chissy (who, for the record, I would have back in a heartbeat). McNiff was a very important player for us and may still have a part to play.

Agree about Coleman but I also think McNiff should at least be considered. Doubt Coleman will play at all this season.

Would like to think McNiff will get a chance. Very good in our promotion season.

Subject to paperwork clearance, Chris will be added to tomorrow's squad to face Greenock Morton and the manager also confirmed that he hoped to announce a further addition later today. In other news, Owen '#mistake' Ronald has returned.

I was listening to Ian Murray on the radio before our game on Saturday and he said that due to the squads in the Premiership being so small, we will struggle to get any 'fringe players' and would have to bring in very young guys on loan. A striker and at least one centre half is a must; always risky relying on players with such little experience in defence. Doubt he would want to, but I'd take Paul Nugent back if he's been keeping fit/playing.

Really like Barry. Pretty quick, strong and decent in the air. A replacement would have to be reasonably fast to help out Graham.

Obviously he's nowhere near guys like McGinn or Megginson, but for his age, he was pretty quick.

Deadly serious. He had a good turn of pace.

Craig Dargo.

Before his injury, Hugh Murray was excellent. He kept the midfield solid and broke up the play. However, after his return, I feel he has been poor. He has been backing out of tackles and looks like he just can't be arsed. I may be expecting too much due to him being brilliant earlier in the season, but he certainly hasn't impressed me recently.

Nish had one decent game and Murray has been awful recently. They add nothing. Just because they are over 30 doesn't mean they add 'experience'.

Hamilton have released Ryan Finnie. Would definitely sign him but he'd only realistically be back-up.

Pat Fenlon leaves Hibs. Hope Murray doesn't take Jacko with him.

Was it not last season Murray was sent to the stand? I'm sure I remember Craig Gordon being the only one in the dugout.

Our lack of defensive cover is a worry. If one of the centre backs picks up an injury and if Smith or Linton are injured, Murray only really has himself, Joe Coleman, Jack Ross or (at a push) Hugh Murray to fill in at centre half. Hope we have a player lined up.
