  1. The same information in the Sun (it was on the bar, I didn’t buy the Sun). Saying that he had offers and would decide in the Summer. It’s very hard to see him getting a better part time offer particularly with training now in Edinburgh. East Fife would need to stretch their pay structure and we know how badly that can affect the dressing room atmosphere. It could only be someone like Alloa of Falkirk and again, it’s hard to see how he would be better off. A huge favourite at Gayfield, would he risk a move at 33?
  2. Maybe a mistaken assumption that Mikey is off. JM seems to be using the players he expects to keep. Yesterday McKenna started and played the whole game.
  3. A decent effort today and we could easily have taken the points. No shortage of effort and commitment from the players and plenty of motivation from the bench. Nice to see Mikey score. Hope he stays.
  4. Agree apart from the total aversion some of us have for returning to Hamilton after our treatment there 2 seasons ago.
  5. I doubt any of us want Inverness relegated with us. QP is a much better away day despite Hampden.
  6. I hope Ricky Little stays. Even if he doesn’t play every game, he is such a good influence with his level of commitment. Anyone know whether he’s likely to be in the reckoning?
  7. A brilliant signing. A proven part time striker who has experience across the Scottish leagues. it’s refreshing to have these announcements without the daft precursors we’ve been used to in recent years. The performances on the pitch have been disappointing but I think the work done behind the scenes is promising. I guess the Jimmy Boyle connection with Airdrie may have helped to swing this one.
  8. I heard we’re after a striker. Maybe that name to be announced?
  9. I think we’d all love him to stay. Always a Lichtie legend for his crucial part in our best Championship season. I feel sure he’s been offered a good deal to stay on at Gayfield. He would be great back in L1. At 33 it may suit him. If he chooses to take a better offer then he goes with my blessing and would hopefully free some funds for fresh talent.
  10. No faith, but I still think it’s too early to tell.
  11. A nice day in the sunshine at Somerset Park. We started well and could easily have been ahead if we’d taken our chances. The dodgy penalty started a collapse and it went downhill from there. As Simon has already said, we were bettered in every area. Outmuscled, outplayed and outclassed. The midfield especially was overpowered. Murphy and Mitonda, both international players were impressive. Our best defenders, ToB Hammy and Ricky were sitting with the Lichtie fans which was good to see. It’s fortunate that we have so few players signed for next season as I really think we need a massive squad overhaul if we’re to compete in L1.
  12. Our best eleven would struggle today. As it is, we will have all our established defenders missing again. ToB, Hammy and Steele injured and Ricky Little suspended. And no chance of being saved by. Dick Campbell pitch invasion. I’m going to miss our visits to Somerset next season (assuming Ayr don’t join us in L1).
  13. Great idea. Just what we’ve been asking for. Hope everyone will attend and clear the air.
  14. I don’t think Leighton is a done deal. Options I was told. He should be an absolute priority for a L1 campaign. Also a striker to replace Jay who will surely be moving on.
  15. Article in the Courier today making it clear that Jim McIntyre has the confidence of the Board and will lead us into next season. He outlined his vision for the L1 campaign which includes a purely part time squad. At least the contentious hybrid approach has been binned. Can’t think many will argue with that. If he’s going to succeed then the fans need to be onside. I’d hope that there will be some significant engagement like a Q and A session before the end of the season.
  16. Don’t think Macintosh is a done deal. He may have an option. We could really use him.
  17. I suspect the Club is likely to give things until Saturday before making a decision on the management. All the concerns that have been raised seem to be building to the same conclusion. If we had seen some real signs of progress then things would be different. The critical issue now is next season. Do the Board, players and fans have confidence in the manager? Summer signings are already being discussed including existing players who might not want to stay unless things change. Will season ticket sales hold up? Definitely some big calls needed.
  18. Derek with some of his home shirt sponsors on Saturday. Brilliant guy. Hope he stays.
  19. Agree that Jim McIntyre had very limited options and time to get bodies in during January. No great surprise that it turned out to be a mixed bag. I seem to be in a minority in thinking that Gordon Walker has looked decent in recent games. A bit of pace, some decent passing. I think he’s signed for next season.
  20. Thanks for that. Can you do the post match interview, please? Nice to read some decent football chat on this page after some of the nonsense of late.
  21. We’ve been relegation fodder for most of this season due to the squad we started with. The January window was never going to yield signings likely to turn things round. The last 2 games we’ve been unlucky to lose by the odd goal. I can see commitment and progress. We need to get to the end of the season and take stock. I understand that Macintosh has an option to leave at the end of the season. He should be a priority to sign. Great today.
  22. There is bound to be a big turnover of players in the summer, but that’s overdue. It’s worth bearing in mind that the boys who want to move on will be playing to impress any likely future club. Players like Jay will want his goals per game looking decent.
  23. That really wouldn’t make sense for him. He has a good job as an electrician I believe. Staying part time and likely playing in L1 I would surely suit him much better.
  24. I really hope that Ricky Little will want to continue with the Lichties next season. He has been an inspiration. His full blooded performances in recent games is typical of his attitude throughout his time at Gayfield. Sad to see some of the nasty, spiteful comments about club officials. I’ve nothing but praise for all those guys who have given so much of their time and effort to build the club we now have.
