  1. A wild guess for today’s lineup Boruc, Norey, ToB, Hammy,Stewart, McKinnon, Dow, Stowe, Macintosh ,Bird, Robinson.
  2. Waking up Sunday not having to think about Saturday’s horrible loss.
  3. Dick’s been in the game a very long time. He must have realised that he had gone as far as he could with the Lichties. He will always be a legend at Gayfield. The cynic in me says that he had an eye on the East Fife job towards the end of his time with us. I was at TNS and Spartans . As previously observed, he could easily have walked away from those petty confrontations.
  4. Didn’t he sign a 5 year deal about a year ago? He’s probably the best part time centre back in the country. Dick would have to find mega bucks to get him to EF.
  5. The league doesn’t matter. I was at a Junior game yesterday in the absence of a Lichtie game. Beith v Clydebank, featuring Nicky Low. Great football and atmosphere. 2.1 Beith. Getting back to competing and enjoying our games is what matters.
  6. East Kilbride have cash so we probably got a good deal. I think we all enjoyed seeing him at his best but there were far too many error strewn performances to merit a place. He would be way behind at least 3 others in the attacking midfield slot once everyone is fit. Good luck to him.
  7. A talented laddie but far too prone to mistakes and losing concentration.
  8. My all time favourite strip. The candy stripe from the 60s. Bring it back and Jimmy Jack too.
  9. Totally agree, but also sympathise with the fans who feel left out in the dark about the stuff we really care about - the football team! The Club needs to take this 3 week break to up its game on the communications front. That’s the surest way to get fans contributing.
  10. Recent games have gone the same way. A valiant effort for the first hour from a scratch team. The legs get tired, the opposition bring on fresh players and we’re done. Yesterday we matched Morton for the first 30 minutes. After the ridiculous red card it got difficult. No lack of effort from any player in maroon. When we get a decent squad back I’m hopeful that this management team can get results. Whatever happens, the summer looks like being a root and branch rebuild.
  11. Both Macintosh and Robinson looked injured in the second half. Jay took a lot of stick from the Morton defence. Thought he kept going remarkably well considering.
  12. I’m looking forward to our visit to Cappielow. Always a decent venue and a good view of the game. It’ll be a first chance to see some of the new boys for real. McKinnon looks promising and Robinson certainly seems like a trier. My concern is that we’ll lose these guys at the end of the season if they’re any good. That will mean a massive rebuild in the Summer.
  13. If that’s the case can we apply for a postponement?
  14. Jim said in his piece in the Courier that we would definitely not have anybody back for Saturday. We will be totally running on empty.
  15. I think we all agree that Ali has been shown great attitude and done everything asked of him. I can’t imagine, however, that Hibs would loan us Boruc for him to warm the bench. They expect him to get game time. He’s looked pretty useful so far.
  16. Good fortune combined with good recruitment absolutely played a massive part in our successful spells. Who could have imagined that guys like ToB, Ricky, Hammy and Thomo would turn out week after week without as much as a minor injury. The mistake was to imagine that the injury free run would continue indefinitely. Lots of us could see this coming, just not to this ridiculous extent.
  17. Agree. It was commented on many times during our successful spells in the Championship. We matched the full time teams for fitness. It seems like our luck has just run out this season.
  18. This would be a tough season with a full squad. With these injuries I can’t see how we can survive. It’s going to take a massive turnaround in our fitness fortunes. We’re not cut adrift yet.
  19. It’s almost as if Ayr are trying to cause maximum annoyance and inconvenience by pressing ahead with the game. I’m only 40 minutes away from Somerset but not likely to go and be messed around by them.
  20. Which weather forecast are they aware of? Certainly not the one the rest of us are seeing. Absolute incompetence and irresponsibility.
  21. The second game in 4 days. Heavy rain all day. It will be a mess.
  22. It’s starting to look like play will be stopped after 20 minutes due to an unforseeable weather event.
  23. Torrential rain now. Gale force winds forecast for this evening. No statement from AFC or Ayr. How about some respect for the fans?
  24. My thoughts exactly. It would still be nice to get some information to keep interest levels up. Interviews with new players or similar would be nice.
