McBurnie against Fulham was unplayable not 1 week ago, no mention. Comes on for a 15 minute cameo against the league leaders away from home with his team getting absolutely battered and gets slated. Not a huge McBurnie fan but he's our only striker in the premier league just now and it's inane to suggest he's miles behind the others.

Next 2 games are pivotal for us. Take 4 points from Airdrie and Ayr and we're in with a chance but lose to either and it gets a lot more difficult. Our squad is running on empty really. There are players all over the park looking heavy-legged and 3 games in 8 days is going to be a killer.

Was thinking about the fact we don't have any proper wingers and that could maybe be addressed with the increased squad size in case we need to change shape (fairly likely that we'll need to chase a late goal at some point in the tournament) Who would be most likely to come into the fold? If Doak had played I'd have liked to see him in the squad. Ryan Fraser and James Forrest have lots of experience but both past their best. Genuinely can't think of any others that have been involved before or close to a call up

Leigh Griffiths was never that good even at his peak. Revisionism to suggest he'd be any better than the current crop, Shankland is a better player now than he ever was imo

With Kroos back I expect the main job of the striker against Germany to be that shuttling, pressing job that Dykes did on Rodri really well, twice. Dykes probably gets the nod there. But the other 2 games are completely different and I wouldn't be surprised to see Shankland get the nod over Adams

Everton haven't won a single game since Godfrey went in at right back. Not in a rush to trust the judgement of Sean Dyche over whether starting a pretty ordinary centre back over a natural right back means anything about their respective abilities

Btw it's not been said much because it's probably taken for granted but Tierney was unbelievable for the whole time he was on the pitch. Every pass was precise, even long balls out of defence were right on the money. Defensively sound as well, covered back post crosses and didn't give anyone a sniff. Praying that he stays fit for the summer
