  1. Muirhead is an easy target for morons. Watched him track back all the way to the edge of our box to cover for Crawford and Strapp getting caught out going forward. 2 minutes later he's beaten to the ball from an aimless punt up the park and you start to hear people calling him a lazy b*****d.
  2. Think Christie is too important as a first line press for us to be considering moving him back. More likely to see McTominay/McGinn/Ferguson playing deeper
  3. Callum McGregor is one of the first names on the team sheet when fit. He's been outstanding for Scotland and is one of our most important players. They don't play the same position. Ferguson is up against McGinn, McTominay and Christie for the more advanced roles. McGregor won't be in the squad for these friendlies so Ferguson is sure to get a chance, however I don't think there is any way he replaces any of our midfielders in time for the Euros. McGinn, McTominay and Christie are playing at a higher level and have all proven themselves key players over the years. I feel for Ferguson but he's just not better than them at this stage in his career. His time will come
  4. A quarter of a century another
  5. His final product has always been patchy. Felt at the time that if he improved on that he'd go play at a higher level but it's never happened and now that he is declining physically pretty rapidly he doesn't offer much. I'd be tempted to go 5-3-2 tonight, Garrity and Muirhead together up top might actually give defenders something to think about rather than it just constantly coming back to us and a bit more defensive support down the channels
  6. Brighton got absolutely battered the other night. Roma old-manned them, made their experience count. Gilmour was as naive as the rest, particularly for the last goal I think it was. Diving into challenges in the middle of the park which allowed Roma to counter in numbers with him and the rest miles out of position
  7. Unfortunately 4-0 seems a likely outcome given our injury crisis Not looking forward to it at all. Be tempted to rest some of our 1st team for the league
  8. Not a coupon buster as such but still an absolute kick in the balls. Had Porteous on to score first and anytime and had already spent the winnings only to find he's not been given the goal
  9. Nothing more infuriating than a goalkeeper getting countless warnings for time wasting and then only finally getting booked in injury time when the game is done. I don't understand why warnings are even given for it, should be a yellow card every time
  10. I don't think they played particularly nice football but they basically strolled it. Hard to be critical
  11. Contradicted yourself in the first 2 sentences. If one team can score a goal and the other could play until Easter without scoring then there's only one winner
  12. 3-5-2 seems an obvious solution, at least give defences something to think about with 2 showing for it in attack. Gallagher and Holt won't have had an easier night their whole careers
  13. Fear for us a bit when you compare the relative strength of the 2 benches Quitongo needs to come off though, he's having a shocker
  14. I certainly don't think he's there as a token. And any time I've watched a US stream of the UCL, he's been good value with Carragher and Henry. Some of their patter is actually quite funny
  15. I don't think Micah Richards is as dumb as people are making out on here.
  16. So that was the first big weekend of the summer... Starts Thursday as usual with a canteen quiz and again no-one wins the big cash prize. Later I do my sound bloke routine by approaching Gina's new boyfriend to say that he shouldn't feel that there's any animosity between us and then I even go and make peace with her. I shouldn't have bothered. Then on Friday night we went through to the Arches
  17. Watched him for Sheffield United this season and he's played well. Held the ball up and been the lone striker/focal point similar to Dykes. He's definitely more of a top Championship than Premier League level but that's not dissimilar to our other options. He's not getting ahead of Shankland, Dykes and Adams but if any of them are out injured McBurnie is probably up there as a replacement option
  18. Europe looks a certainty for Bologna now, potentially champions league but for sure Europa or Conference League at a minimum. Wonder if it will be enough to keep him there. Exciting time in his career either way
  19. Doesn't even take the pens for Bologna, don't think there's any reason he'd be no 1 taker for Scotland
  20. Has Samuel not been fairly decent for you? Know he's been injured but he scored a few to start Ex-player so pretty much a stick-on to score v us
  21. Get VAR in the bin, completely useless if it's guys like Clancy just completely ignoring what their own eyes are telling them
