Easy to forget how young Patterson is, at 22 he's the age Andy Robertson was when he was bouncing between the Championship and Barclays with Hull. Just to add that I've watched Ferguson numerous times this season and he does tend to play as a kind of AML at Bologna and his exact role is to be the link man, hold the ball up and get others into play on that side in particular as well as get in and around the box as a support man. I've always said Christie is one of our most important players off the ball, that might genuinely be the spot that Ferguson wants to target rather than McTominay/McGinn who have shown themselves to be undroppable really

Definitely think he's similar to Gross and this is probably the biggest factor. Their latest young gem that they'll probably sell to Chelsea for £200m is a 19 year old Cameroonian Baleba who fits the profile of Caicedo more, certainly has more about him off the ball. In games where you have lots of the ball you're more likely to see Gilmour and Gross. For games where you need more physicality and off the ball running, it will tend to be Baleba and one other. At the moment the experienced Gross tends to get the nod in those tougher games, but hopefully we see a transition from Gross to Gilmour over the next season or 2
