  1. Raith play some tidy stuff. Was impressed with Vaughan and Connolly, toyed with us at times. Imrie will always have players run through brick walls for him but that has its limitations. Summer recruitment has been abysmal, not one signing has improved us We also seem bereft of ideas, Oakley is a good target man but we don't play with wingers or anyone capable of running in behind or picking up second balls. Fair play to Raith for grinding out a result but we didn't half simplify it for them
  2. It actually is, weirdly. It's normally batshit mental. Disappointing really
  3. Think someone said previously that he's been dropped for the big games but I'm not sure there is that pattern to it He played against Ajax and didn't play v Fulham, not sure you can argue the Fulham game was treated with more importance. They didn't win without him anyway, so I guess that's not a bad thing?
  4. Not even an opinion, a suggestion even
  5. Considering he's scored one goal all season it wasn't exactly a massive leap to think he might have been dropped. Especially since the manager is clearly at last throw of the dice territory Happened to McKenna Even if he's injured, Adams is definitely not getting a game. And McBurnie has been pretty good this season and is playing at a higher level Didn't think this was that controversial an opinion
  6. I didn't say it was true, I said that's where I got my info from and why getting called a liar was a bit dramatic
  7. Went to see killers of the flower moon today and have to agree that it's a long time to be sat in a cinema seat. I think they should bring back Intermissions for anything longer than 3 odd hours. For a start my old bladder has no chance of lasting that long, but even a chance to stretch my legs would have been good The film itself is fantastic. De Niro is fantastic, as are the 2 leads. It's a really horrendous story tbh, it's made me want to go read up more about it
  8. Hardly a lie is it. I took a snapshot of yesterday and neither were in the 11, Dykes not even in the squad. I even checked the missing players on Flashscore and he didn't appear. No need to get out your tree
  9. Watched McBurnie a couple of times this season against decent opposition and he's done well in the role of hold up nuisance. Could he force his way in? Adams and Dykes can't even get a game in the championship, whereas Brown and McBurnie are first choice in the Barclays. Be interested to see if he was in Clarke's thoughts
  10. Missed 2 penalties in one match last night Burger king beckons
  11. Thought Konate should have been sent off, was a good example of a player getting away with a yellow card on account of already being on one
  12. Think it's just a tough group. England are on it and Ukraine must be up there for toughest pot 3 teams. Thought Italy looked decent and competed well at Wembley the other night
  13. Travel thread for this pish
  14. What do you mean still? We've only conceded 3 goals in qualifying. 2 against an elite side and 1 was a penalty
  15. Still a long way to go, that projection has Israel and Croatia qualifying which I don't necessarily agree with. Apart from that things are starting to settle. I think we'd want Italy to win against Ukraine to take them out of a potential 4th seeding spot. I can just picture France/Scotland/Netherlands/Italy
  16. Sticks in the craw a bit that we'll likely finish on more points than a lot of the group winners. Spain losing either of the games against the diddies is never going to happen really The league A play off is currently set to be Poland/Italy/Croatia/Estonia League B Israel/Bosnia/Finland/Iceland League C Georgia/Greece/Kazakhstan/Luxembourg
  17. I don't understand people saying we didn't get anything from last night There will be loads of patterns of play that will be analysed by Clark and the coaching staff. France were absolutely deadly in the transition so if we can learn when to try and use the ball and when to just not lose it that will help. Eventually we want to be able to actually stand a chance of beating these teams, pumping Sierra Leone or whatever isn't going to help us do that I want to see us play a team like Croatia or Czech Republic at home. Those mid size teams were our undoing at the last Euros.
  18. San Marino almost got a draw with Denmark last night
  19. Could maybe even challenge Adams and Dykes for the main striker role tbh. Wasn't expecting him to be that good and he is playing at a higher level currently
  20. England will be in pot 1, Hungary pot 2. No other real changes as far as I'm aware. Denmark are on a bit of a decline and almost lost to San Marino. There really isn't going to be much between pot 2 and pot 3 teams
  21. Don't think anyone disgraced themself. Taylor shower why he's 4th choice, cooper was a bit off it and Patterson got slaughtered at times. Thought Ferguson looked good, pressed well and clever enough to avoid a booking for breaking up attacks. Looks like he can play anywhere across the midfield which is good for us. Brown looked lively and we had some nice link ups at times. Aside from that it's good experience for these boys. Gives Clark something to work on when we have similar fixtures in the NL or Euros proper
  22. Can never get over the negativity of some folk. We've done it where it matters, got the cigars out in qualifying and sent the b team out for a horsing against the best team on the planet Who gives a flying f**k about the result or performance
