  1. If true that is approaching peak Dundee. All we need now is a relegation and administration. Ah memories.
  2. Taking the emotion out of and being pragmatic, you are undoubtedly correct. I’d imagine that it’s the only way a club with our level of support could make it viable. If it comes to pass there will be an awful lot of unhappy people though.
  3. I might be being too cynical but my take is its the first steps toward sharing the new stadium with the dayglos.
  4. In my mind the financial side of things is a straightforward question; how much will we lose if we go down? If we lose say 800k p/a going down I think the board should be prepared to sanction a spend of 150 / 200 to try and recruit boys who will keep us up... I know it may be good money after bad but the Championship is a hard league to get out of and I’d have little confidence of us coming straight back up. I agree with the quality over quantity argument, I’d take 3 or 4 personally but at this time of the year the types of player available will generally be cast offs and mercenaries. I think McIntyre will know the type of player he wants and will likely have been sounding folk out over the past weeks. Yesterday I was all misery and thought we were doomed but the more I think about it I reckon that we’ll stay up. 10th is as good as we can hope for but I think we’ll do it. *don’t ask how, it’s blind faith I’m running on at the moment.
  5. You lead a horse to water, but you canna make it drink....
  6. Not the best of poses but lady T still looks seductive to me.
  7. We really should have tried harder to get Shankland in the summer. There’s absolutely no chance we’ll get him in January. Or ever.
  8. In my opinion the ceiling has been reached already. I only got one this year as I was able to take advantage of the super early bird. (Which I now regret as I sit week after week watching the turgid dross on the park). Next season if the prices remain static, I may renew my ST. If the prices go up I certainly will not renew. If we are relegated - which looks likely - I’d expect prices to drop. If they don’t I’ll not be renewing ST. I’d probably just go PATG and pick and choose my games.
  9. Well my cautious optimism lasted a day.... I’ll support him and I do think he’ll keep us up. But it’s not inspiring. Meh
  10. What I reading between the lines is that it was more the fact it was during takeoff, where everyone should be belted in - including babies / toddlers. But we shouldn’t let that get in the way of an outraged newspaper story.
  11. I’ve mentioned him, mainly because I think he’s a good manager and is currently unattached. There’s no chance it’ll happen, for the reasons you and I have mentioned. But he’s only in prime position because Klopp is still doing well at Liverpool....
  12. Didn’t see any nonsense in the Coxy but to be fair as soon as the whistle went I was off. I’ve had a bit of time to reflect, not only from this week but from shite that has intruded since the beginning of the season (last year too). My conclusion; McCann is a charlatan, a con man. Much like the slimey smarmy c***s that rip off old folks he has the gift of the gab. He has smooth talked his way into the job under the nose of a naive (certainly in football terms) yank. He must have regular discourse with Nelms and time after time he manages to convince him that he’s the man for the job, he can turn it round. Bullshit. Nonsense. Balderdash. His neck is too hard to walk away so the club need to intervene. Get him the f**k away from my club. Our club. I don’t know who we could get in place of him - personally I’d love Mick McCarthy but there’s no chance we could afford him - doubt he’d fancy it either. At this point though, I don’t care. It literally can’t get any worse. Also thought Dallas was honking today, not that it mattered a jot.
  13. I’d imagine the club has started to realise that the PATG prices, combined with the fact we’re fucking hopeless at the moment is driving people away. Especially a night time game against Celtic. So it’ll work out cheaper than PATG but you could argue that free tickets would be a rip off in the current climate.
  14. Anything from the game on Saturday will just paper over the gaping chasms that have become apparent to just about everyone now. The board should have binned him after the ‘well game and tried some actual recruitment rather than asking the boy on the telly if he fancies a job. Probably end up with Tyrone off STV next.
  15. Out of the next 6 games I can only see the possibility (very slight) of maybe getting a draw away at Hamilton. Even that’s unlikely. If we continue in the same vain we could very easily be well into November sitting on 0 points. I have no confidence in McCann turning that round. I have no confidence in his team selection, tactics or in game management. At this level to get anything from a game you have to be hard to beat. To me that means getting a settled formation and starting 11 - at minimum a settled back 5. Being well drilled and having good shape and discipline. Once that is second nature, then you can try and play a bit. I’m rambling, but my point is McCann is fucking useless and needs his jotters before we are too far gone to save. I may seem melodramatic but by the time we put any points on the board we could easily be 12 - 15 points behind.
  16. I’ve made my feelings on this signing clear. But as he has now signed I’ll get behind Kenny and I hope I’m made to eat my words when he starts banging them in
  17. I agree with all you’ve said about our current strikers (including Kallman, who I like the look of as long as we give him time). It’s just I personally don’t think Miller is the answer. I’d be delighted to be proven wrong though. It’s more McCann’s style to bring in some Inuit prodigy who’s never seen a ball before but has a great tactical mind. In fact I may stop by the bookies at lunchtime....
  18. Is this Miller deal actually confirmed by the club? Or is the Sun just running a planted story in an effort to force St Mirren to come back in with a better offer? Miller doesn’t seem like a typical McCann signing. I’m sceptical. If true, I’m horrified. An awful, awful waste of money.
  19. I’m not that bothered by Stewart signing for Killie. If we’d got him, McCann would have fallen out with him before the ink was dry on any agreement. Either that or play him in goals. * I actually think he’ll do nothing at Killie. He had a great time with us but he’ll struggle to ever find form like that again
  20. To be honest I’m not bothered that we didn’t get Stewart. McCann would probably have fallen out with him before the ink was dry on the loan agreement. Either that or he’d have played him goal. * I actually think he’ll do nothing at Killie. He had a purple patch with us and will struggle to regain anything like that form again.
