I actually think it was down to locals complaining their houses wouldn't get enough sunlight if a second tier was added to the North Stand. This is to be a joint stadium for York City and the local rugby team.

Getting fitted for a full new set on Monday, had a somewhat fortunate night in a casino so have decided to treat myself to a brand new full set, have my eyes on the new X2 Hot range, but there's a number of irons and woods I will try out. I was already looking forward to the new season, this has just added a little bit more!

I've only tried the Rocketbladez on the range a few times, but was very impressed distance wise and for forgiveness, pal of mine plays with them, he swears by them, clubhousegolf have them for about £300 for a 4-pw. When I started getting back into golf I was using my old mans 20 year old driver, steel shaft, steel head that was tiny compared to the modern day head sizes, had absolutely no confidence with my driver, put any power behind I'd balls up the drive, slow the swing down and I couldn't lift the ball as the loft was far too low, tried all sorts of different hand me down drivers before deciding to buy myself the Callaway X-Hot.....was just what I was needing, brought my confidence levels right up, was hitting it really well. Unfortunately I have to get rid of it, as my confidence has went up, so has my swing speed, it's a 11.5 loft driver, ballooning the ball in the air anytime I connect now.

As long as they only measure distance then they are legal. Some of the fancier gadgets out there will tell you wind speed, direction, temperature, even the lie, those are illegal.

Cheers mate. Think the one I was looking at was about £109, like you say it's not a fortune you're spending on it. Certainly I could be doing with the help with regards to that, I've really improved my driving, when connecting I am hitting it really well but a fair number of times, it's my second shot that can let me down, a lot of that can be down to the wrong club selection.

Was thinking of picking up one of those GPS style watches, but wasn't really sure if it would be worth it though. Going on the 5 strokes, would I be right to assume you'd recommend it then?

Has anyone tried the new Taylormade SLDR driver yet?

Just hit an 89 last night, first time I've gotten into the 80's, don't have a handicap or owt just play for fun with some pals and last night was most pleasing! My new Callaway driver is certainly making a difference!
