Queens bottom of the table tonight and next weeks Cup opponents Cove go to the top of League 1. The omens aren’t good for next weekends trip to Aberdeenshire!!

My first ever Scotland game at Hampden was a 1-0 defeat to Wales in 1985. I also saw us play Wales in a 1-0 defeat at Rugby Park in 1997 and the 2-1 defeat in Cardiff 2012!!! Being drawn to play Wales in the semi final play off would definitely have given me the fear!!

If the manager has “lost the dressing room” as rumoured can the club afford not to relieve AJ from his duties??!!

I’ll certainly be voting with my feet as recent results/performances/tactics etc do nothing to entice me to part with a hard earned £18. Dwindling crowd numbers will only get worse now that the cold, wet, winter weather is upon us. I just can’t see the BOD releasing AJ from his duties just yet and given our recent Scottish Cup form, I’m not overly confident that we will progress to the next round up at Cove. Defeat there might just spur the directors into action.

The irony is our Chairman is a very shrewd businessman who owns a successful construction company with resources at his disposal to at least carry out basic maintenance tasks!! I suppose it’s a similar situation to Ayr United a few years ago in that their owner Barr built most of the new stands in Scotland whilst Ayr still slummed it at Somerset Park!!

The lack of investment off the park and the general run down state of the ground and surroundings is the perfect metaphor for the slow demise of the team and results on the park. I did think it might be worth using some of the Tanner Funds raised to spruce up Palmerston as I can’t really see the club wanting to use money raised by a fans group to strengthen the team!! The stark reality is that we are a poor team that is only going backwards under the present management team. With the loyal fan base dwindling away and the cold dark winter nights fast approaching, attendances are only going to get worse. The BOD have some serious decisions to make before it’s too late. Major building works are required on and off the pitch. Give us Queens fans an early Christmas present and hand AJ & SC their cards!!! PS a quick question SD …… would your wife be happy if your front door looked like the doors at Palmerston?!!

A fresh coat of paint, weeding, grass strimming, emptying bins, power hosing and disposing of damaged signs etc doesn’t cost the earth. Where has taking pride in our appearance gone within the club?! Take Stair Park for example……… it’s amazing what a fresh lick of paint can do to the overall appearance of the place.

Crowds will be sub 1000 very shortly so no need to spend money on a main stand!!
