  1. I didn't say you would have a total collapse, I said I didn't think you would maintain this form, I don't think the squad you have is ready for a title challenge. 4 goals conceded in 9 games is impressive but 12 for isn't. As I said, it depends on how far ahead you are when you start to drop points how it will effect your league final league.
  2. It's there for the taking for any team. other than Inverness, I don't think any team has shown the consistency required to win the league, but I also don't think that Inverness will maintain that consistency. It depends on what kind of lead they have once the wheels start to come off. Any from the top 5 I mentioned.
  3. We are still in basketcase mode, a legacy of Hopkin and to a lesser extent, Kerr's recruitment and a chairman that is somewhere between visionary benefactor and despot. We are a couple of injuries away from catastrophe at any moment despite having a huge squad such is the imbalance oft he squad. Duffy has brought a calmness to the club we have been lacking since McCall left. I think we will be ok this season eventually but I don't think we will be in the promotion play-off hunt beyond March. Based on the first quarter Inverness don't look like champions but somehow are opening a gap at the top of the league. I expect another team to win the league and they will be in the top 4 Raith, like Inverness look like an average championship team over-performing. They will be top 4 Kilmarnock are here for a long time, not a good time. They signed a lot of good championship players but not a lot of players capable of getting them out of it, They will be top 4 Arbroath will hit a sticky spell, lose the majority of games onw quarter and drop in to the bottom 4, will stay up and be outside the bottom 2 Partick are a good, attacking team that will win more that they lose or draw, I think they lack quality in defence and will end up in or just outside the top 4 Queen of the south, look a good team that lack a 20 goal forward or 2 10 goal a season forwards, 5th to 8th Morton, won't go down, might be in the play-offs but wont go down Dunfermline look a decent side that haven't clicked and lack confidence, either way, I think they will either click under Grant or he'll be away before Christmas and they will start to get results, 7-9th Hamilton rely on youth and I don't think this batch is ready for a relegation battle, I don't see them spending to get them out of the mess either, the new manager is due another couple of months to turn it around but on the first quarter showing, they are my pick to go down.
  4. I’m not a fan of him, Bradley has done more in a third of the games that Salkeld had managed. He’s not a bad player but hasn’t shown in 3-4 seasons he’s any more than a below average championship player.
  5. He did it today a couple of times in the first half. There is very little output to what he does so it goes unnoticed or can be frustrating. I can see what he adds to The team in theory but not always in practice which explains why Morton fans were glad to get rid of him.
  6. Salkeld has plenty of energy, can take the ball for a walk and stretch a defence, creating more space in the forward areas for other players. He tracks back and helps out in midfield. he has zero output in terms of final balls or shots on goal though.
  7. The more you go about me going on about Gibson going on about Ayr fans going on about queens fans going on about Ayr fans makes me think that you are tying yourself in knots here. I don’t defend Ayr fans or see what they sang as acceptable. I also don’t think that Gibson was entirely genuine on his social media outpouring and is a bitter angry wee man. I don’t back the Ayr fans and I think Gibson is a w**k
  8. He reminded me a bit of Aidan Nesbit, loads of energy and very direct. Good when you are on top in a game but incredibly frustrating when you aren’t. The amount of times he went for the spectacular and failed when the ordinary was the better option won Ayr the game. He certainly has the ability to spark panic in a defence, like Maxwell to a degree. If he was 50% better at making the right choice he could be a major asset higher up.
  9. It’s relevant because calling them a w****r, a beast etc is an obvious attempt to get in a players head. Gibson is about 40 and still bites to it when most players would ignore it. to then take to social media and make some teary post about concern for children after a bizarre rant at the segregation fence, wanking and making jokes about domestic abuse after a mid table early season championship game in front of 1500 people is nothing short of tragic. if that had been an Ayr player tonight, I’d be keeping awfully quiet.
  10. How many serious mortal threats are normally made to the tune of I wanna go home?
  11. I’m not defending either, I’m also not taking a faux moral high ground after the fact.
  12. I’m sure that Gibson has had all manner of things sung at him over the years, rightly or wrongly by fans. He comes across as an angry wee man who can’t ignore it, like Jamie Hammell which means he gets it twice as much. to engage with fans in the manner he did, with his age and experience and then try to take the moral high ground is embarrassing for him. football fans try and get in players heads, Griffiths and St Johnston is a prime example, call him a beast for an hour and he volleys a lit flare in to the crowd. Unfortunately it is part of football and if you react it’ll get worse because supporters know it works. I don’t believe Gibson thinks Ayr fans hope that he dies in his sleep, he knows it was to get at him, he lost and made a total fanny of himself and gret on social media
  13. I get that, but it would be more of an outlay for him than a roof on the north terrace. Incorporating seating behind the north terrace and hospitality along with the new roof would be good but renovating the hospitality would do just as well for the club.
  14. While I’m glad that Smith might be looking at stuff like this, I just hope it is sustainable for him personally. Building the hub and investing in projects that lessen the financial burden on him and the other directors and put the club on a sounder, unsubsidised footing make sense and are good for the club. Until they are in place and paying for superficial improvements I personally am not bothered about a cover on the north terrace
  15. Still plenty of cracks in the team, first half was almost a procession. Could have easily been 2 down at half time. Second half, QOTS changed shape to try and draw us out and get in behind us. The changes we made swung everything in our favour. Fjortoft and Baird played well as a pairing, Reading played well throughout. Maxwell was good in spells but his passing and final ball were poor. second half, there was a bit more desire in the team, we defended higher up the park and retained possession a lot better without creating many clear cut chances. Queens change of game plan certainly helped us but it’s all about exploiting these things when they happen. good win and it moves us 3 points further up than Hamilton and Morton, 2 on Dunfermline. As far off the promotion playoffs as we are the relegation playoffs which seemed a million miles away 6 weeks ago
  16. In your haste to post something smart arse, you have inadvertently posted something that is purely words that have no bearing on anything resembling sense
  17. “Won’t someone think of the children?” he says whilst simulating a sex act and then making a joke about domestic abuse. glad it doesn’t bother him
  18. Strange game, Queens play some good football and are quick in attack. Everything is on the deck and to feet. Fortunately they have a gormless big b*****d up front that is no more of a championship level forward as I am. on the balance of play, we should have been 3 down at half time. Didn’t defend all that well, gave up the majority of possession and looked poor counter attacking. secoond half, Queens looked like they were sitting back to try and draw us out. Giving us possession and trying to catch us on the break which worked. We made 2 changes and took control. Apart from a 5min spell towards the end, we pretty much dominated for maybe 20-30min of the second half without creating too many chances. Good 3 points in a tricky game.
  19. Looking at the players out for tomorrow, McCallister will have to play right back, Fjortoft will have to play CH to replace McGinty. Assuming McCallister is actually fit. Team needs a reaction after last weeks pumping and the draw against Morton if we want to capitalise on Hamilton and Dunfermline still being shite.
  20. No, Barr environmental. Think one of Barrs sons ran it. Think it was sold off once he retired a few years back. Cameron bought the club for a pound and inherited any debt. the tax bill was huge, partly I suppose because Barr was putting so much money in via hospitality and advertising. We paid it though, several years of pain as a result but we had the decency to pay it.
  21. See Barr have been ordered to pay a £99 million fine for unpaid tax. Makes the £400k he stiffed us with a trifling amount.
  22. Folk are going to be all fingers and thumbs, trying to find their ticket QR code and then their vaccination status QR code on their phones while a queue behind them all mutter, ah for f**k sake
