  1. “Won’t someone think of the children?” he says whilst simulating a sex act and then making a joke about domestic abuse. glad it doesn’t bother him
  2. Strange game, Queens play some good football and are quick in attack. Everything is on the deck and to feet. Fortunately they have a gormless big b*****d up front that is no more of a championship level forward as I am. on the balance of play, we should have been 3 down at half time. Didn’t defend all that well, gave up the majority of possession and looked poor counter attacking. secoond half, Queens looked like they were sitting back to try and draw us out. Giving us possession and trying to catch us on the break which worked. We made 2 changes and took control. Apart from a 5min spell towards the end, we pretty much dominated for maybe 20-30min of the second half without creating too many chances. Good 3 points in a tricky game.
  3. Looking at the players out for tomorrow, McCallister will have to play right back, Fjortoft will have to play CH to replace McGinty. Assuming McCallister is actually fit. Team needs a reaction after last weeks pumping and the draw against Morton if we want to capitalise on Hamilton and Dunfermline still being shite.
  4. No, Barr environmental. Think one of Barrs sons ran it. Think it was sold off once he retired a few years back. Cameron bought the club for a pound and inherited any debt. the tax bill was huge, partly I suppose because Barr was putting so much money in via hospitality and advertising. We paid it though, several years of pain as a result but we had the decency to pay it.
  5. See Barr have been ordered to pay a £99 million fine for unpaid tax. Makes the £400k he stiffed us with a trifling amount.
  6. Folk are going to be all fingers and thumbs, trying to find their ticket QR code and then their vaccination status QR code on their phones while a queue behind them all mutter, ah for f**k sake
  7. We have a 10,000 stadium, but I think that is reliant on putting additional temporary toilets in the away end. Otherwise it is 8,000 I think. The problem with the Somerset is that people want to stand in the same part. So any crowds over 2500 and it is a pain in the arse to try and see anything from behind the goals or around the half way line. From what Smith is saying, he wants to keep the aesthetics of Somerset but also cater to fans who maybe want to have a bit more comfort. That may mean losing the side terrace as a stand or something like that but I doubt there will be any wholesale changes to Somerset in the next 20 years. In a fantasy land, if we were to build a new stadium, I'd like one like FK Pardubice's new planned Stadium. It has a 5000 capacity, the stands are raised like Hamiltons allowing for shops and office space below.
  8. A lot of Motherwell fans are posting under the club tweet that they are glad he is away. It’s possible he’s daft and has just chucked it 3 months before the next window opens. I would think he’ll have a move that suits him sorted out, Australia or India, something like that.
  9. Stevie Lawless has quit Motherwell. Not sure how this works with the transfer rules. If he leaves a club between windows is he technically a free transfer or does he have to wait until January? When things like this happen, they normally have a move abroad lined up. Or a move to Thistle because McCall would have been in his ear already. Think he is a winger which wouldn’t be the number one priority.
  10. Not a straight forward one to predict. Ayr have picked up points from the two worst performing teams and then played two teams that were due a result. QOTS are neither but are consistently mediocre. Ayr have yet to achieve mediocrity and are still in basket case mode. Based on that Queens 0-1 or A bore 0-0 or Ayr 4-0
  11. My concern would be, we need defensive midfielders and the free team conceded 5 goals against our midfield made up of defenders. I hope there were at least one that was any good and we don’t end up signing another 3 full backs
  12. Hopkin was trying something particular that wasn’t working and hadn’t worked previously. To make it worse, he signed the same players that failed with him the last time. If he’d got results then many fans would have bought in to what he was trying to do. In his time as manager, we won single digit points and nearly that in shots on target. I didn’t think any manager with previous experience could have made us worse that what we were under Kerr, but Hopkin managed it. To describe a championship league game as a “free hit” to set up as negative, concede 60-70% possession every game and keep doing it for 20 games proved beyond doubt he should have been sacked. When a manager comes in and makes a big show of stamping their own mark on the club, in Ayrs case, players should be vegan, all the subs should go in at half time or like Caldwell, switching dugouts, having a player kidnapped………or other teams making players travel in suits, or drive 40 miles in the wrong direction on match days because they have to travel up on a team bus, it never works out well. some teams work because of the atmosphere in the dressing room, so when a manager comes in, announcing the fact he’s a massive arse and he’s going to make players miserable because of some daft philosophy, it usually results in relegation.
  13. Having seen Dunfermline, I would say they are a decent team just not performing the right way, There have been no daft philosophy's put in place, it just hasn't clicked for them. Maybe Grant isn't going to make them click but I don't think they are a million miles away. Under Hopkin, we were never going to click, There were weird philosophies in place and a stubborn approach to tactics. we were a million miles away from being decent. Hopkin has a decent amount of time last season and this season to get things right, but continued to make a rip-roaring arse of it with no let-up. From an outsiders point of view, Grant only took over in the summer and has probably only had a dozen games so far to get things right so you can see why the board are giving him time. You always listen to the fans though, Plenty of folk thought Ayr fans were ungrateful when we hounded Daziel out the club. 5 games were enough to know Hopkin was a dope. I wonder though, if we weren't post McCall, where expectations were higher, if Hopkin would have had more time. If fans would have just drifted away, accepting us being crap rather than the reaction he got at the Raith game.
  14. Picking 2 names at random, fetishising over them for 6 weeks and then moaning
  15. See we are playing Burnley U18s in a friendly today. Are we hoping that they have an actual child that could bolster our midfield? christ
  16. Baird has looked ok this year but was pish along side Muirhead last season. Take McGinty out and Baird might be just as bad. How did Morton concede as few goals with this defence. I can only assume the full backs and midfield pulled in a lot of the slack.
  17. Maybe we could just use him like that bollocker bloke Albion Rovers used to have. Just some guy that hangs about the dressing room shouting at folk.
  18. We still have a January window and then half a season. It just depends on how much business we manage to do and who we bring in. Depending on how bad things are, we may even have to pay fee's Yesterday was like the Raith game, concede a goal and then shit the bed, it's the first time we have been behind in Duffys time as manager and it went south quickly. Like the Raith game, the players lost their shape, just sat back and invited a humping. There isn't enough in the squad to change anything going forward.
  19. Not through them, they kind of escorted him across the park, standing off him, allowing him to pick a spot in the bottom corner. He didn’t need to beat any of them.
  20. I don’t think a lot of today can be blamed on the appointment of Duffy to be honest. A big part of recent weeks has been O’Conner, we were missing Bradley as well which meant either Moffat or Salkeld coming in. I think everyone would agree that Moffat should have started today. like the Raith game, under pressure we sit too deep and the defenders in midfield drop back meaning we invite pressure. the lack of changes in the first half can be put down to Duffy. I don’t understand why Maxwell doesn’t start and Mcallister isn’t a Championship wingback.
  21. McCallister, Chalmers and Afolabi are not good enough. Fjortoft and McGinty are barely good enough. we knew we’d toil once we played better organised teams that would counter all our shortcomings and that happened today in style. need to get improvements lined up for January
  22. Oh for f**k sake. this is up there with Hopkins Arbroath result in terms of performance. Graham just ran, surrounded by 6 Ayr players, no tackles and managed to score. Biggest defeat of the season was 2-0 before today.
  23. With the players in the match day squad, it’s hard to see a different line up, we could take off a defender and bring on Salkeld. Swap Moffat for Afolabi at some point. Maxell for Chalmers.
