  1. Bollocks. Alarm went off crawled to living room and then fell asleep waiting for game to start. There will be no such mistakes for pats v jets!!

On a positive note glad to see my views on ravens getting a ducking were borne out. Even with injuries manning has too many weapons on that O.

  2. Away to head from work now, been avoiding caffeine all day and running up and down stair more than i normally would. Hopefully get tired enough to get some zzzz's for about 8 and a surprise 1am alarm call for the missus.

She's gonna be furious that we are back on the split shift sleep rota.

  3. It was showing on the Eurosport schedule as Live American Football - was updated to being from 00:00 until 7am.

    It has now been removed.

    Plot thickens!

I dont think you can get Eurosport 2 on Freeview.

Someone jumped the gun ahead of announcement maybe.great news for me if true as I can record mnf. They must have paid absolute buttons though. I wonder why 4 woukdnt just take it up to compliment snf

  4. Looks like it could be Eurosport that has Monday Night Football. It isn't showing on any planner but it is showing on the Eurosport website from 00:00 until 02:00 as Live American Football on Eurosport 2 HD. There is then a this is Eurosport 2 programme which runs until 6am.

I'd be delighted if that was the case!!

Edit cos I didn't read post properly. Is eurosport available free to air across all formats? I know I get it free on basic virgin. The reason I ask is c4 is the exclusive free to air partner of nfl in UK so if you get eurosport on basic digibox or bt im guessing it's not the case. They also have an arena league programme on.eurosport. could be this
  5. Which teams that are expected to do well will flop? Who will exceed expectations?

I will take the chiefs to do well and the patriots to disappoint.

If you want to go ahead I'm happy to meet you for a fight.

In all seriousness though I can't see patriots failing to make the post season - altho that is as much a reflection on afc east. If Gronk and amendola stay (get) healthy Brady has plenty weapons and Ridley will have a big year. Still got big concerns about or deep coverage, the pass coverage especially at cornerback was a disgrace last year which we generally mitigate by keeping the O on the field but is still.a worry.

The last 6 months I have been quite down on the pats but I'm more confident as we get closer. BB is someone I trust to find solutions no matter who the personnel are.

  6. This will be my 4th international series and I kind of get what my lichtie pal is saying. I went to the first Wembley game. Phins v giants and had an amazing time. Never been to US so nothing to compare it against and I thought it was just pure entertainment the way they get the crowd involved but I was pretty drunk.

Second time I went was pats v buccs as I had to go and see my team.even though it was much better supporting your team I really noticed how flat the atmosphere was. I said after that I wouldn't go back but when they announced the pats were coming back last year again I had to go. First two years I stayed with pals and we just pitched up at the game half hour before kick off. Last year we decided to go all in and do the fan rally at Trafalgar square, pre game tailgate and UK patriots party at greenman pub before the game. Greenman is best of both worlds for me as you get a proper beer and can watch super Sunday as well as dipping into the pre game atmosphere.

I would say all these things are worth a nosey for an hour but don't build your day round it unless you are really really into nfl. i didn't know half the folk they were wheeling out and it was all a bit radio Tay roadshow. As lichtie alludes to a lot of nfl fans are a bit weird. I suppose if you are into a minority sport or star trek or something then you really get into it to an insane degree and get a bit geeky about it.so for me it wasn't the best company and your best just doing your own thing with mates.one of the reasons I prefer this thread to posting on nfluk is that everyone has come here through football so there is a bit more balance to them whereas nfluk has some right weirdos posting and I think for a lot of them.that place is their social life.

I probably wouldn't be going this year except my pal is a huge Steelers fan. Having reread all that it sounds a bit negative but I'm still really looking forward to it and it's still a great day out. It's worth going to london just for a bodeans pulled pork roll from the tailgate

  7. I dunno what age you are so this might be a weird suggestion but if you're a gamer, pick up Madden. That's how I learnt.

I gave up on madden as it was so hard to tackle it made it a 4 down rushing game. And people would take knee with 90 on the clock in a 5 minute game!! I might go back to it though. Also have a few books to read that I got for Xmas but I always have a queue of books waiting.

  8. I used to go to every united match home and away, every Scotland game at hampden and a fair few man utd and Valencia games. Every Scotland game at murrayfield too.

I still go to tannadice but that's as much about tribal loyalty and meeting the lads for a pint as anything.EPL, champions league etc bore the shite out of me and altho i still take an interest in international rugby and football it's bloody hard work. In terms of the sport itself nothing comes close to nfl for me. Every game is intriguing and has something going on.only started watching 7 or 8 years ago, and only seriously following two years ago but it's definitely my number one sport now.

Still loads to learn though.only really know the top players and know next to nothing about the different types of O and D but looking to get right into that this year.

  9. I found some lost property, probably expensive but no use to me or I would have stolen it. I found it by loch lomond at 10 pm so when I drove past crianlarich police station it was shut. Nae bother thinks me.single Scottish police force I'll hand it in in Dundee. They wont take it and won't pass it on.told I need to drive with it to garelochhead other technically I'm committing an offence.

Phoned police Scotland. After speaking to 4 people trying to get number for garelochhead am eventually told they wont give me.direct number but not to worry as it's such an expensive item.the person will be insured.

Moral of story if you find something and can use it steal it,if not leave it.

  10. I hope that whoever picks up SNF has Coombs and Carlson anchoring it. They're excellent.

The MNF doesn't fuss me as much.

SNF is on 4 with coombs and carlson it is only MNF that is up for grabs. There hasnt been an official announcement yet but it there on the schedule if you look forward a couple of weeks.

  11. You must have been pretty good, when I was playing rugby I dont remember any of the High School lads getting any sort of bursary due to playing rugby even though some of them were turning out at international level, and indeed , still playing as full internationals today.

P.S. only joking about the Kings Park comment, it was a slight on thye boys on the photo not you

  12. Do you think BT Sports might be tempted to get a foothold in the NFL with MNF?

I hope not if for no other reason than i like the late game to be on free to air so i can record it. the sunday evening kick offs i just stream. BBC's red button coverage last year was a disaster if you were on virgin.

However, if they do I might be tempted to get BT sports seeing as you get college ball on ESPN

Seeing as you can probably pick up MNF for peanuts I wondered if it might be an option for ITV3 or 4

I hope we hear something soon though as I can remember NBA, NHL and MLB all starting season without a broadcaster in the UK and getting picked up 3 or 4 weeks into the schedule.
