Does Murray still have his pace? Cos that's the only reason you would want him.

Thats Murray of about 5 years ago. He is excellent at taking the ball into feet in the box, holding off defenders and creating opportunities for himself.

I think he would be briliant alongside Moult but McLeod and Thomson getting recalled and being unable to go elsewhere hardly screams we are signing a striker.

  2. An easy 3 points for the form team in the league and runaway promotion favourites? Or will it be United who emerge victorious?

Our home form is fucking stinking and likely relegation form when you take out Arbroath and Thistle who are basically freebies.

Hopefully Morton's recent success encourages attacking football otherwise we toil like f**k to break teams down.

Happily our strikers seem to be scoring again.

    1-0 United from a 79th minute penalty.

I really hope their parents blooter them, but they kids all be playing the blame game right now and parents will not want to believe their little angels could do such a cowardly disgusting thing.
different in my early teens, I can still feel some of the pastings I got just for looking at someone with a bit contempt, let alone bullying some guy that didn’t stand a chance in defending himself. Kids have nothing to fear nowadays, so they keep pushing their boundaries. Hopefully this is taking to the highest levels of prosecution available. The lad and his family deserve that at the very least.

I'm not following, you got a pasting from your parents for looking at somebody with contempt or you got a pasting from some other teenagers for looking at somebody with contempt?

Just looking to be clear so we can all understand the life lesson here.

Used to be tremendous. In the 80s and early 90s, seeing in the bells then going first footing was great. I remember one year the neighbours all ended up at our house, loads of people listening to Jive Bunny on the record player and having a drink.

I don't know why but in the mid 90s it all died out.

    Aye that's a real mystery

Not really, the MLS schedule for 2024 runs 21 Feb to 9 Oct, with playoffs until the final on 7 Dec. The Canadian schedule is similar…in either case, the signing until January makes sense for trying to find a slot in North America, signing in Scotland until June really doesn’t.

The Canadian Premier League starts in Mid April.

  6. We absolutely need a stronger squad but that's no excuse for 3 or 4 of our senior pros to be absolute shite.

I say the same thing every week about him - if Freeman had done that, the place would be in uproar.

For a while I've thought I can't split the difference between the pair, but I'm coming round to thinking Freeman might be least bad.

Grimshaw is undoubtedly shite but you don't worry he will cost you goals. He just likes to kill the momentum I'm any attack and kick the ball off the field.

He's behind Watt, Middleton and increasingly Moult in my bad books though.

Also, I know it's not news but Tillson looks like he has won a raffle to be playing in these games.

    ^^^ Bump

The very first Final of the Forfarshire Cup was on this day, Saturday 22 December 1883 between Arbroath and Dundee Harp. On the way to the Final Arbroath beat Our Boys (Dundee) 4-1, West End (Dundee) 3-1, Strathmore (Dundee) 2-1. Dundee Harp beat Clydesdale (Dundee) 15-0, Broughty Ferry 22-0, Strathmore (Arbroath) 6-3. The Final was at Rollo’s Pier, home of Strathmore (Dundee). Attendance was 5,000 to see Arbroath lift the cup after a 2-1 victory. Only know this thanks to the Arbroath Archive although had to check www.sfha.org.uk to find out where Clydesdale were from.

ETA: Rollo’s Pier was off Magdalen Yard Road.

I've always assumed this is Rollos Pier. I know they have the plans in the University archives but I have never bothered to go down yet.

What do you mean by adequate? Full permission would have to be applied for anyway. The planning permission in principle gives secures the proposed use of the land and is a failsafe should layout/strategy change.

A PPiP wont usually be granted if it's a change of use or in a conservation area. I'm not a planning expert and it might not be a change of use or there might be other exemptions but it jumped out at me.

  9. Given Dundee isn't building a light rail network anytime soon im not getting the issue with the location.

Even if it was a city centre ground most fans would have to drive, walk or bus it in.

I still think the most fun option would have been to go back to your roots and build somewhere around the Stannergate.

@invergowrie arab says its not happening though. 👺

I'm also on record as saying A9 dualling won't happen. I suppose if the goalposts keep getting changed and the timescale is infinite  that I'll be proved wrong eventually.

I see they have stopped spoofing about the progress they have made given they have only now admitted that planning permission in principle has yet to be submitted. Has it not been imminent for about 2 years?

I'd be surprised if a planning permission in principle is adequate given its almost certainly a change of use.

Do you think you will be in for 25/26?

Not as if I've never had to think about this scenario.

I'm not sure I'd be able to just attach myself to another club in the same way; I grew up with the Livi stadium being a stone throw away from my house, desperately listening to the crowd from my window with Sky Sports News on when I was too wee to be allowed to go. Then convincing them that I can go on the supporters bus up to Peterhead and down to Queen of the South because grown-ups will look after me (terrible parenting, btw.)

I'd probably just pop along to the odd nearby game, maybe do some form of ground hopping. Most likely I'd use the saved cash and just follow Scotland about everywhere.

My partner's dad is an Everton fan and her brother's an Exeter fan (been to a good few Exeter games when we've went down to visit), so I suppose I'd have the option of making a weekend of it and going to watch them every now and then.

Most Livi fans jumped to a new team. Probably easier than you think

  12. Bit of a shame on the cohort of decent local fans of the big clubs for whom Liverpool, Real Madrid or Bayern are their teams but they have made their bed.

For most of us the big clubs fucking off, whether it's OF to England/Atlantic League or that lot to play Al Ahly then who cares?
