  1. I maybe got carried away with that one. To start them both is hard to justify given the success of the current midfield, and the strength we otherwise have on the bench. My point was really that I'd like for Joffrey to remain involved, and I've seen King have better games for us than he did on Saturday. Luke Main I had assumed would be a casualty of the revolution, but I thought he showed well for the short time he was on. I'm still hopeful that Lewis Magee and McGrory will make the grade. All four loanees will be gone in a couple of months.
  2. Salim, Salim, Salim Salim, I'm begging of you please don't take my man
  3. Glad to finally win against this lot, and it was quite comfortable too. Josh Doig very consistent for us. I thought Luke Main was effective, and would like to see him and Joffrey start. King as MOM puzzled me a bit, but hopefull will give him the confidence to push on. Annan in a bit of a tailspin and they'll be glad they did enough in the first half of the season.
  4. Yes solid enough at the back and good pressing and energy. Brechin never looked liked scoring, but neither did we. We began to look a bit ragged towards the end just punting balls up to Sal.
  5. You can get the Champions League and everything here: https://www.skysports.com/get-sky
  6. I agree.Credit to Elgin. Some good players and they want to play the game properly.I think they suffered without Shane, but I like the look of O'Keef most times as well as Hester and Omar. We were solid again today with the defence sorted and moving the ball forward much quicker. Good shift from Sal.
  7. Brilliant! Neither team were going to create anything against the wind, but QP made a better job of it. Difficult to assess the midfield line up in those conditions I thought, but pleased all round with the effort, esp for Kieran Moore. Have to applaud Stirling's goal though, nicely placed cross and a perfect header.
  8. Relieved to hear 'two extremely good goalkeepers': https://www.queensparkfc.co.uk/cammy-bell-joins-the-spiders/?fbclid=IwAR11iqYaXVAlRcQihUi7PBobjJrr2aF1Khn_I4RJsUP0AcJ2of0BtZ4TJNg
  9. The short while Slater was on he ran the show. Stand out. Defence looks solid again with Jamieson back, and what looks like a settled back line already. I liked the look of Doig, and I agree McLean is a smart piece of business for us. Davidson and Morrison look promising, and hopefully back up for Joffrey and Purdue. Cowden have a good defence and can't see them concede too many, but baffled by their tactics. We looked a bit ragged when they changed shape and applied some urgency. Willie saves the points again.
  10. Great save from Muir again. Have to say though, I was surprised at how he retreated for the second goal. What a save from Goodfellow though!
  11. Yeah, looks like Australia. Piss poor research.
  12. More or less same selection but a different team. Much improved performance. Organised and working for each other. Pleased for Billy whose ball control and touch looks more assured, same with Finnie. Confidence throughout the team makes a difference. Hope all ok with Jamieson.
  13. Yes. To be fair to Roberts, The team he's put together has shown it can win against very good sides. Individually I don't see we have many passengers, and the manager has seen the problem areas and responded where he can. Collectively though we often don't show the focus and guts until it's too late. Compared to Gus's sides, we are less organised defensively and too passive off the ball. Not showing for passes or ball watching. Most of our goals conceded recently have just been a lack of alertness in marking and tracking runners. Going forward we seem to lack the confidence to keep it on the deck in midfield. I'd love experienced heads in January, but no use if we play as individuals.
  14. Setting up for a nil-nil when you are 2-0 down might not work.
  15. I'd agree that Summers wasn't at his best on Saturday ( only Muir was effective), but I do think he is a decent player for us, and more of a footballer than most defenders. The marking of the goalscorer for the second was poor, but he wasn't Summers's man. Billy's work rate for us is great, but I don't think we could accommodate his shortcomings in a higher league.
  16. Was it the Christmas party last night?
  17. I disagree. Today was a dreadful game of football and not a great measure of anything, but as our manager said, we were still the better team. Similar to the last game it was very fine margins. QP and Cowdenbeath are very different teams, and I can see how Cowden's approach may be effective in this league, but I don't think they are one of the top four sides in this division. A long way to go yet and I may be proved wrong but Edinburgh, Cove, Elgin, Stirling and even Albion I believe are better footballing sides. A well fought three points today though.
  18. Plenty for the excitable to get excited about in this game, but these are observant comments. Not much in it but Cowden did well with 10 to see it out. I agree with all Mark Robert's comments here:
  19. Elgin looked sharp, but really we made it easy for them. We're losing very soft goals, and for me Lidouren, Galt and Jamieson the only ones with pass marks. We haven't looked like scoring a goal from open play all season, and even our penalty was very poorly hit. I thought we surrendered the midfield and relied on long balls, Moore's running and Salim's knock-ons. How long do we persist with this? It's not gonna work. Not sure where we go from here though. We have talent there, but we're relying on too many young developing players. As was the case last season, the early confidence and fluidity is replaced by panic and lack of ideas.
  20. What he achieved speaks for itself. Considering also the depths of where he took us from.
  21. More important than financial modelling (which would have to be vague projections of multiple scenarios), is a good hearing of the reasoning behind the views for both routes, and on the type of club we want. That's why I'm interested in what Glasgow 1999 has to say. I have to agree with the points about a strong youth system, and I understand the proud history and 'specialness' of the club, but given the importance of the decision, I'm surprised he/she is the only one to offer anything for the staus quo. As it stands, I'm guessing that even the most teary-eyed traditionalist will see the huge risk in staying an amateur club in the current sutuation.
  22. What a depressingly entertaining game.
