  1. Agree with all of this, although Cowden did look quite good, and kept their shape better than us. They seem to merit their position in the table. It remains to be seen if we merit ours. Pretty even first half and 0-0 was about right with neither team dominating. The penalty was harsh, and a game changer, surely we can all agree that at least. The key difference for me was, again, the delivery of dead balls. We had significantly more and wasted almost all of them. Who should start in defence alongside Little and Jamieson? I change my mind week to week, but I do prefer Summers, and I'm gaining confidence in Grant. Also, is there room for both Joffrey and Thomson? I agree with the comments on Galt, he always has had cold spells, but enough quality there to win games even when he's off-par. I'm fine with him playing to draw fouls in the box, but although he got kicked up and down yesterday, I don't like to see diving. We can compete well enough with Cowden despite yesterday's scoreline, but plenty to work at!
  2. Josh Peters doing well. Looks like we will be haunted all season by ex players.
  3. I agree. I went along today because I wasn't hardcore enough to travel over six hours to witness a 3-0 defeat in a Force 6 at an industrial estate in Aberdeen. However with Wharton, East, Osadalor, Docherty, Peters and Hawke, it all felt quite familiar (where was Fotheringham?). The ref got a lot of abuse for the red cards, but although I thought the first was just a robust 50/50, it was high. The others fair enough, but it did spoil it as a competition. Hilariously entertaining as a spectacle. Stirling Albion do seem to be less than the sum of their parts this season. Good to see Peters score a goal, it was an instinctive turn and shot, but shouldn't have troubled the keeper from that distance. Other than that I just didn't see a goal threat. What little we did see of Bikey was terrifying though. Rovers quite exciting to watch going forward and pleased to see Smart at the centre of everything. I feel we offloaded him too quickly but he does seem to have developed.
  4. Agreed. Very glad to have Willie back. For me Magee was excellent, and I'm so used to Jamieson being consistently good that I take it for granted. Three at the back works fairly well, but it can expose us down the flanks, especially if Mortimer gets out of position. Happy enough with a draw. Also agree we would have slipped up here last season.
  5. I must have missed that. Not that I've got a problem with it.
  6. I think we hurt them in the half-spaces.
  7. A good test for us to start with Galt(?), Jamieson, Gibson and McRory missing. All of which you would expect to start. Easily out-paced for the goal and we struggled to get any flow from there on. Clyde didn't pose too many problems, and we relied too much on sceond balls rather than playing to feet, but encouraging from Joffrey amd Salim.
  8. I have to agree, even though we got the benefit this time Impressed and encouraged by the team's movement passing and work-rate today
  9. Yeah I'm sure I saw him, but don't think he played. Team is shaping up well and still a few faces I can't put a name to, but would be good to get an experienced head in there to calm things down a bit. However I thought Lewis Magee looked very composed today.
  10. Number 4 (Jamieson?) was a standout for me, also 15 (Reagan?) - good control, and 11 (Alfie) - held the ball up well and looks like a goal scorer. Good to see Foy back in the team too. Hope Gibson's injury isn't too bad, but he wasn't walking very easily.
  11. No, I can only assume you are choosing not to get the point. The situation isn't about QP's obligation to a player. All they can offer at present is training, development and opportunity. The point above is that the SFA have decided to interpret the rules such that our youth system gets minimum recognition, and this does seem to lessen the benefit to all to some degree at least, and may be an important part of the club's decision making going forward. Your suggestion that the solution is simply to change the club's constitution and offer contracts may have to be considered, but misses the point. Or maybe you were just too pleased with your 'cake and eat it' idea to notice?
  12. I kind of expected most of them; Roberts, Hart etc., surprised at Euan East and McKernon, but the one I find hard to live with is McLean to Annan. If it was indeed for a bit of cash, I would have thought a better move all round would be up a division. ....and counting?
  13. What's happened to City? Easily the best team in the first half of the season and on a relentless winning streak. I'm not aware of significant loss of players or injury. Any confidence for the play-offs (assuming the league is beyond you given current form)?
  14. I agree, this does seem harsh on Berwick. It doesn't really matter to us beyond a good laugh. I see already the decision has 'cost Clyde to lose the title'. It does seem severe though and kind of spoils the race a bit. Wouldn't be upset with a Clyde win today for the sake of the players.
  15. Thanks dirvy, that's understandable, and all that's needed. No need for a Clyde thread.
  16. Either there is nobody interested, or there is no information. Very unsettling considering the timescale, funding, consultation, planning, construction and interim arrangements.
  17. My thoughts too, best of a bad situation but our amateur status has surely been at stake for some time. We lose the lure of playing at Hampden, and I wonder how much losing our elite status for development influences how we will fare.
  18. Made a big difference to our team, but I can see him as a capable Championship striker. Good pace and movement, confident and aggressive running with the ball and wants to have a go from anywhere.
  19. I don't like to see Albion in this state. I thought I didn't like 'the Dirties' but seeing their current troubles I realise it's Cliftonhill I hate, and actually I've more of a soft spot for them than any other team, possibly because they are our most frequent opposition (could have made that up). The fortunes of a club change dramatically one season to the next, and it's not long since we were propping up the very bottom , but saved by the lack of a trapdoor at the time. I don't think Albion are as bad as we were, so will hopefully avoid the drop.
  20. Yes I've enjoyed watching the two games this year more than any last year (well maybe Alloa). The team, and the way they're setting up, is encouraging so far, and with options for positions. Kurtis Roberts looks like a great find and I'd like to see him keep his position in the middle.
  21. Beaten 5-1 by Livingston with Adam Martin scoring, and 3-1 by Morton with Kurtis Roberts scoring.
