  1. Rumours on the Stenny thread that Mark McGuigan on his way to Bayview. Could be a good signing. With Waldo and Kev already signed I believe, we would need one more striker. Rumours that Anton Dowds has been released from Falkirk. Would he be a welcome addition to our squad ?
  2. In fairness to Dumbarton and Forfar, the game should be played next Thursday so that the team that gathers the least number of points are relegated and go into the play off and not due to a team being given or losing points.
  3. Should the Clyde players have been self isolating if they had travelled to Peterhead and back by bus on Saturday with the player who has tested positive ?
  4. How close were they on the bus back from Peterhead on Sat when the test had been carried out ?
  5. When other teams have declared a positive test a day or so before a game, the game has been postponed but when it’s declared 20 mins before kick off, the SPFL think it’s ok for the game to be played ! East Fife should not have been asked to play the game - automatic postponement to safeguard everyone. Only in Scotland ! Do all the Clyde players involved this evening now have to self isolate ?
  6. Adult outdoor sport not restarting till 17th May. Scottish Junior FA have null and void this season. Not sure about Highland and Lowland Leagues but not looking good for them. Maybe a chance of keeping Fash for a bit longer !
  7. Looking at the players leaving Lowland League clubs - Andy Geggan BSC Glasgow, Chris Erskine and Steven Bell EK all going to Patrick on loan. Sean Brown East Stirlingshire going to East Fife. Does this suggest that the clubs know that the League won’t restart or they reckon they won’t catch Kelty ? What happens regarding play offs if League doesn’t restart ? Brechin City will be hoping the Highland and Lowland Leagues are null and void
  8. Haha ! Big Jonesy ! I’ll keep him on the bench ![emoji6]
  9. Hi I’m trying to create a Scottish Dream Team Fitness Challenge. Depending on how many reps you do in each challenge will dictate the players you can choose for your Dream Team. Wondered if you folks could help. Can you give suggestions on the best players in League 1 this season in the following positions Right back - Left back - Right centre back Left centre back Right midfield Left midfield Defensive central midfield Attacking central midfield Right sided striker Left sided striker Thanks in advance. For anyone interested in getting a bit fitter during lockdown by challenging themselves and creating a Dream Team, I will let you know how to access it once I’m finished, thanks in advance.

  11. Would it be worth trying a back four of Murdoch, Watson, Dunlop & Higgins (on the left) ?
  12. It was always going to be a difficult start to the season with Cove away, Montrose at home and Falkirk away. The big worry is the number of goals we are losing. The only positive was some of the Football we played against Montrose in spells. The game against Dumbarton next week is a huge game for us even this early in the season - we can’t afford to be left adrift at the bottom. Looking at our squad, most fans were quite happy with the players we kept. Are we stronger than last season ? Personally, I don’t think we are any stronger. Hamilton may prove to be better than Dowds or not, Swanson looks like Kevin Smiths replacement on the treatment table and Collins so far has looked like Lewis Hunter in terms of not being able to make the step up from Lowland League. I hope he proves me wrong. For me, we didn’t address the problem of lack of height and strength in the team and opponents now know what we have and can predict how we will play and how they will play against us. I know it has been difficult to bring players in for many reasons but this league is stronger than it’s been since we came up. Already there have been some strange scores in this league so it’s vital we get three points next week before the break for the Betfred cup ties to give some confidence. Mon the Fife
  13. Met a fellow season ticket holder in Morrisons today and he asked me how he could transfer East Fife tv from his phone to his tv. I wasn’t sure as he has a Huawei phone which I am not familiar with. He also said that a number of fellow season ticket holders do not have access to the technology required to watch the upcoming games covered by the season tickets which look increasingly unlikely to have crowds allowed. This got me thinking of how to rectify this and make the Club some much needed cash at this financially challenging time. Could the club open the bars in the stadium on match day and have everyone socially distanced the same as pubs. The blinds could be closed upstairs so fans can’t see the pitch. The game could then be streamed to the TVs in the lounge. This would allow season ticket holders who have no access to the required technology to see the game and it would also allow sales at the bar to help increase revenue for the Club. Would this infringe any rules ? It may also be possible to tie in with a couple of local pubs who may be able to do the same. Really feel for those who have put their money into the Club but will be unable to see the games - no fault of theirs or the Club who are doing a great job in these difficult times but this is maybe an idea which benefits both parties.
  14. Haven’t received an email with the link. What are the Office opening hours at the moment ?
  15. Can’t see us signing him AND Marc McNulty !!!!! [emoji6][emoji6][emoji23][emoji23]
  16. Danny Swanson has signed for East Fife on a two year deal
  17. Thistle have 14 home games as opposed to 13. They are at home twice v Falkirk, Airdrie, Montrose and East Fife - the teams who finished second, third, fourth and fifth in League 1 this season, so possibly the biggest threats to them. They start the season away and finish at home - no issue with that and that or vice versa should be the case for all clubs. Why have East Fife been drawn away on first and last day of the season ? Patrick and Falkirk will be the teams with the largest travelling supports so to maximise the income for other clubs to help them survive, why was it not put into the mix that teams would have 3 of the six games against them at home ? East Fife at home once against each. Peterhead and Cove are the two ‘camel treks’ this season and surprise, surprise, East Fife play them both twice away ! We even have the pleasure of back to back ‘camel treks’ in April ! At least it’s not in December like last year. I know, you are never going to get exactly what you would like in terms of fixtures, but again it looks like we’ve been shafted and teams like Patrick have been given a fixture list that has been done to give them the best possible chance of going back up as compensation for being relegated due to Covid 19.
  18. 3 goals in 17 appearances for Edinburgh City last season in Division 2. No guarantee that he could step up to League 1. No thanks. Cmon Anton keep the band of brothers together for another season !!!
  19. No mention of Jordan Hart in that piece but reading other posts it seemed he was signed. I liked Hart last season, although he was always struggling to win over the fans because Brett Long is a fans favourite. I hope he does re-sign as I think it’s important to have two quality goalkeepers to put each other under pressure to perform.
  20. Dunsy has been a great signing for us and hopefully he recognises that East Fife have been good for him. No issues with him going full time. Airdrie will offer him reasonable money and full time football but it could be a big gamble in this present climate and the uncertainty of the coming months. If he has a decent job away from football he may be better staying part time for another year knowing it is an additional income. If staying part time where better to play than at East Fife where he is a fans favourite and with a great group of players. Fingers crossed he stays. Anton may be in the same boat. Is he still at Uni or got a decent job ? Could be a gamble going full time this year with all the uncertainty unless it was a top half Premier club. I’m sure the club will want to keep both players so fingers crossed. I’d love to see Craig Watson re-sign too as I feel he gives us options, always gives 100% and never lets us down. I fear that he may feel that he won’t be a starter and will prefer to move elsewhere to get that. Hopefully he is offered a contract and also stays. I would imagine Lewis Baker and Lewis Hunter won’t be offered contracts as neither of them looked as though they could add anything to the squad. If we can keep the three players mentioned above, I think we’d only need another two or three additions to complete a strong squad. Hopefully we get the chance to get back to supporting the Fife asap. Mon the Fife!
  21. Sorry Ewan but Adeyemo has to go down as one of the worst players I’ve ever seen wearing an East Fife shirt. For someone who was at a full-time club his movement was terrible. Lost track of the number of times he had to be told from the bench where to run. Absolutely dreadful player (and I use that term very loosely !!)
  22. Great credit to the club and the players at East Fife. I’ll believe the players have been phoning all the fans that are over 80 for a blether and check they are ok. My mum who will be 91 in June and still a season ticket holder was delighted when Chris Higgins gave her a call today. She was delighted and it really raised her spirits at this really difficult time for everyone. She is really missing her visits to Bayview to cheer Darren and the boys but his call gave her a real lift. Thanks to everyone at the club who make people feel valued. Mon the Fife
  23. On the GoFundMe page, complete your details, donation and card details. Click on donate. If it has gone through you’ll get an email confirmation and if you come out of the page and go back in your name and donation will show. Hope that helps.
  24. Poor performance today. Didn’t really get to grip with the game in midfield, too many slack passes, throw ins were very poor - losing possession most of the time from our own throw ins. Having said that, Brett didn’t really have much to do and McCallum had to make a few saves to keep them in the game. The way results went today makes the game at Airdrie next week a massive one. I’ve no doubt we will have to play a lot better if we are to get something from that game. The result today was the important thing and a clean sheet was also a bonus. Mon the Fife !
